Luciano endured the abuse for as long as he could, but the repeated beatings of his mother were the breaking point. Blinded by rage one night, Luciano retaliated, severely beating his father. While he doesn't regret protecting his mother it got him a minor punishment from the law due to self-defense. While his father is out of the picture, the incident left scars–both physical and emotional–that continue to shape his actions and worldview.
