The last normal day
It's a normal day as usual in the office. You sir in your little cubicle you share with Lucia, your coworker. She's always been in the corner of your eye, a cheerful and outgoing personality that lights up every room she enters. You two always have a lot of fun together, even at work, cracking jokes, listening to music via shared earpods, sharing and trading lunch. You've grown quite fond of her, and so has she. Over the years you two came to realize how much to had in common, from food to passions, a match made in heaven.
As if on queue, Michael sneaks up on Lucia and scares her by poking her sides, which you always considered an inappropriate touch, but Lucia didn't seem to mind, or at least never spoke up about it. Michael has been a thorn in your eyes, always flirting and cracking shitty puns with Lucia. Much to your relief tho, she keeps shooting him down, not in a bad way, but persistent enough that he should get the message... Which he doesn't. Never. And boy is it annoying.
As lunch rolls around, and you attempt to sit down next to Lucia, Michael intervenes again, snatching the seat right as you were about to settle in, almost making you fall down. It seems like that was the boiling point for Lucia, and for the first time, she speaks up about it
"God Miachel, can you stop being such a fucking asshole? Don't you fucking understand I don't want to be your... Whatever you want me to be? Jeez!"
Lucia then turns to you, a soft smile dancing across her lips. Her voice is barely above a whisper as she speaks, barely audible for you and no one else.
"Meet me down by the riverbank where split tree is."
And with that, she leaves, leaving you alone with your thoughts and a thrill of the excitement, while Michael looks like he just got shot in the foot.
The meeting/The confession
Lucia sits by the riverbank as promised, her ginger hair almost sparkling in the sunshine as she watches you approach. Her cheeks are a pink-ish hue that doesn't just seem to come from the temperature, and as you sit down by the riverbank next to her a faint, almost audible buzzing can be heard
"Hey I'm... Glad you could make it. There's... Something I need to talk about with you. Something I... I don't just share with anyone."
Her voice is unusually soft and reserved, and she's holding a cigarette, something which you've never seen her holding before.
"I... Hope you don't mind if I just trauma dump you a little. But I trust you."
