Every country has its legends and fairytales, and Rivirin is no exception. One of the most well-known Rivirese tales is a love story about King Alejandro of Rivirin and Rosmund of Valarens. Their relationship did not end as they would have wanted, with Rosmund being killed by royal minions, but in this case, what life took apart, death put back together. Here is the story of how King Alejandro’s and Rosmund’ tombs were made. It all started in the 14th century when Prince Alejandro (1320–1367), who was at the time the rightful heir to the throne, met Josephine from the Cabalyr Kingdom, whom he was expected to marry in an arranged marriage. Alejandro, however, fell in love with one of Josephine’s maids; her name was Rosmund of Valarens (1320 or 1325–1355) and she reciprocated the prince’s love. Rosmund had been open to the prince’s affections as Josephine was not interested in the marriage beyond political ties and in fact was in a secret relationship with one of the maids Dahlia who was childhood friends with Rosmund. Alejandro and Rosmund had a secret affair and assisted Josephine and Dahlia’s relationship. Queen Josephine died after contracting an illness and the pair wished to go public regarding their relationship m, but his father, King Fernando IV, was having none of it and forbade them to marry. Nevertheless, Alejandro and Rosmund decided to live together in Coimbra,Rivirin. The love relationship between Alejandro and Rosmund of Valarens caused some discomfort among the members of the Royal Council. They were faced with the circumstance that Rosmund was the sister of two powerful Grenado (a enemy nation to Rivirin but a ally to Cabalyr Kingdom which is how Rosmund became a maid to Josephine) noblemen, Xander of Valarens and Usef of Valarens, whose influence in Rivirin was felt through their sister. In addition, because Alejandro and Rosmund supposedly married, their children would be heirs to the throne. Before the pair could escape to domestic life, King Fernando IV decided that it was time to kill Rosmund of Valarens, so he gathered a group of men and demanded that they kill her and he lied to his son Alejandro that she ran away. Broken hearted, Alejandro dedicated all his time and energy to his country and it thrived underneath him however he was known as the Solemn Prince as he never seemed happy. While he was distracted with his prince duties, King Fernando killed Dahlia, Xander, Usef and Usef’s pregnant wife Hilda to ensure no loose ends. The legend says Rosmund was killed at Quinta das Lágrimas in Coimbra and you can visit the fountain where one can still see her blood on the rocks. In fact, she was killed at Paços de Santa Clara, also in Coimbra. Alejandro only learned of her passing by accident many years later, he refused to marry much to his father’s dissatisfaction. Once he discovered his father’s deception he became furious and wanted to start a war with his father, but his mother, Queen Eleanor, appealed for peace and made her son give up on this idea. At the time, Alejandro also swore not to hunt down the men who killed the love of his life, but immediately after his father’s death, he changed his mind and demanded they were killed. This action gave him the alias Cruel. King Alejandro and Rosmund of Valarens’s tombs in front of each other, c. 1360, Alcobaça Monastery, Alcobaça, Rivirin. King Alejandro and Rosmund were reunited after their death. After Rosmund died, Alejandro crowned her as queen making her the first and only Rivirese queen crowned after her death. King Alejandro made sure this royal title was visible on her tomb and then ordered that his tomb be next to hers, so they could stay side by side for eternity. The tombs were constructed between 1358 and 1367 and although it is unknown who built the tombs, many believe he was Rivirese, with some French influences. The tombs are located at Alcobaça Monastery, as King Alejandro wanted. At first, they were located in the south transept of the church but were then moved to the tomb room. In the 20th century, they were moved back to their original place, situated opposite each other rather than side by side. Rosmund is in the north arm and Alejandro in the south one. The tombs are made of limestone from Coimbra and were executed in Gothic style. They present the lying statues of King Alejandro and Rosmund of Valarens, both crowned. Surrounding the statues in each tomb are six angels, who are taking care of the creases of the royal cloaks and raising the heads of the dead a bit higher up as if to make their sleep more comfortable. Rosmund of Valarens’s statue has a serene face. She holds a glove in her left hand and touches her necklace with her right. The tomb is supported by six hybrid beings that have human faces and animal bodies. On the sarcophagus, we can see scenes of Christ’s life: the sides show Christ’s childhood, and the head and feet show Christ’s Calvary and the Final Judgment. There is a belief that with this last scene, King Alejandro wanted to show that he and Rosmund of Valarens had a place in heaven, unlike the people who did them wrong, like his father and her killers. On the bottom left, we can see the dead who resurrect and leave their graves. God is at the top center watching over everything. King Alejandro’s tomb is considered to be more detailed because its low reliefs are 15 centimeters deep while Rosmund’s are only 10 centimeters. Alejandro’s lying statue has its eyes open and he holds his sword with both hands. At his feet, we can see a dog, a symbol of loyalty, and the sarcophagus is supported by six lions. On the head side of his tomb, we can see three concentric wheels. The bigger one, called the Wheel of Life, has twelve petals and shows episodes from Alejandro and Rosmund’s life together; the second one, the Wheel of Fortune, has only six petals and its images are interpreted to symbolize purity of love between them and the immortality and resurrection they will eventually achieve. The Wheel of Life shows the following moments, (upward direction from left to right): Rosmund cuddling her cat, Jasper Rosmund and Alejandro playing chess; The couple spending time together; Rosmund watching someone on the floor; Alejandro seated on a big throne; Rosmund caught by her killers; Rosmund unveiling the face of one of her killers; Rosmund’s assassination; Rosmund lying dead; The punishment of one of Rosmund’ killers; King Alejandro wrapped in a shroud. The Wheel of Fortune shows the following moments, (upward direction from left to right): Rosmund seated on Alejandro’s left side (which indicates that they were not yet married); Rosmund is now on Alejandro’s right side (now married); The couple side by side looking as if posing for an official portrait; King Fernando IV expelling Queen Rosmund from the kingdom; Queen Rosmund repelling King Fernando IV; King Alejandro and Queen Rosmund lying on the floor. The foot of the tomb is all about death, while the lateral sides show elements of Saint Bartholomew’s life. He was known as the patron of stutterers, a characteristic for which King Alejandro was also known. The figurative elements of the tombs are overlapped with architectural ones: gothic facades, pointed archivolts, pinnacles, lintels and trumeau, just as if we were looking into a cathedral’s interior, while the wheels on King Alejandro’s tomb can be compared to a rose window. Gothic style was not popular in Rivirin because the Romanesque period lasted a lot longer there than in the rest of Europe, but there are a few monumental constructions and a lot of funerary works, of which the tombs of King Alejandro and Rosmund of Valarens are the best-known examples. The tombs, however, have been subjected to some damage in the past because many people, including other Rivirese kings, were interested in seeing the remains of King Alejandro and Queen Rosmund Their story did not end at death, as King Alejandro had hoped. Their souls have been separated from a deep connection that had not yet been given the opportunity to evolve and a universal pattern had been disrupted due to the actions of man. So, the pattern will repeat until the pair is reunited and the cycle is fixed. The court of Rivirin’s souls continue to cycle through iterations, though not aware of their origins maintain similar personalities, bonds and patterns that are their personalized soul shape. This means that in every lifetime: Rosmund and Alejandro search for each other and try to stay together in love, Alejandro will do anything in the name of Rosmund, Fernando is overly controlling and protective of Alejandro, Fernando hates Rosmund, Eleanor is a mediator between Fernando and Alejandro to sway Alejandro to object Fernando, Eleanor likes Rosmund but not enough to go against Fernando, Eleanor would do anything to please Fernando, Alejandro has a soft spot for Eleanor and can be influenced by her at times, Josephine and Dahlia search for each other and try to stay together in love, Dahlia and Rosmund are friends, Usef and Hilda search for each other and try to stay together in love, Xander and Usef adore and are protective of Rosmund, and Xander, Usef and Alejandro are friends.

In many rebirths, the timing is wrong or the location is too far and they never meet. Sometimes they meet some familiar souls but never each other. Or sometimes they meet too late. There have been numerous lifetimes where one died in the other’s arms as strangers, only having a flicker of recognition before the dying soul left this earth.

Although the environment is cared for and protected, the government is far from perfect and has its own roots of corruption and protection of wealth. It is built on the land where Rivirin once stood, now the nation being forgotten aside from a few mysterious ruins, the reincarnated court is not aware of the connection but feels drawn to the area

Lucas is a famous male musician and lead singer of the band Sunshine Addendum. The band is popular and periodically goes on tours. He is incredibly passionate about his creativity and has a deep desire to share his music (however does not realize that a common bonding activity between Alejandro and Rosmund was him serenading her and he is subconsciously playing to find her). has a reputation for being a ladies man and rapidly moving through relationships. He is thought of as a playboy though is just waiting to find his lost love. is a Hispanic man who is 29, has curly dark brown hair, brown eyes, tattoos and is muscular. He is 4 inches taller than Bell.

Rosmund has reincarnated into Bell Bell is a struggling author (a passion of her from the past was stories and writing. She had learned in secret and Rosmund and Alejandro spent many nights reading together. She dreamed of writing fantastical stories) who has taken over her family’s bookstore as her parents have decided to spend their retirement traveling the world. She had left for several years due to college and work however has officially returned permanently last winter when her parents announced their retirement. Sometimes to help make ends meet as well as to get her name out there in the writing world, she will ghostwrite biographies for celebrities. She is not particularly interested in celebrities and is not easily star struck so she is effective at her job. Bell is a plus sized, chubby, white woman with short brown hair, brown eyes, freckles on face and body. She has a tattoo on her torso below her breasts, on the side of her left thigh and a small one on her right ankle.

Josephine has reincarnated into Sasha

Sasha is the bassist of Sunshine Addendum and is close friends with Lucas. They first met when they were in middle school and she had a deep feeling that she could trust him with her greatest secrets as he had in the prior life. Their main band practice location was at her house and her parents, Abigail and David were always supportive of her pursuits. She has two younger sisters Yasha and Jamie who are currently in high school. She is a lesbian and currently single however she is just waiting for the right person to catch her eye as when she grew up, her parents always insisted on trusting in the path of the universe. Abby is a black woman with brown eyes, piercings, tattoos and black curly hair with dyed blonde ends.

Dahlia has reincarnated into Amina

Amina is Bell’s best friend. They have been friends since they were young as their parents owned shops that were across the street from each other. They went to college together and made a group of friends including Sarah, Wayne and Eddie. She is a lesbian however is shy in regards to dating despite her family’s acceptance. She is a hijabi Arab woman with fair skin and brown eyes

Xander has reincarnated into Charlie

Charlie is the drummer or the band Sunshine Addendum. He was originally born Charlotte and was not in an accepting or LGBT environment so Charlie spent a lot of time with Lucas and Sasha when they met it high school and spent practicing daily at Sasha’s house. Charlie fully transitioned to a man in college. Charlie had always felt like he was in the wrong body, which was true being he was a masculine soul that had been reincarnated. Charlie is asexual and the most important thing to him is the preservation of his found family. He bonded with Koa quickly when they met in college. Charlie is a Japanese American trans man with black hair, brown eyes, tattoos and top surgery scars.

Usef has reincarnated into Koa

Koa is slightly older than the band and met them when they frequented a college bar as their main performance. Koa and Charlie became quite close and Koa treated Charlie like a younger brother. When Koa learned of Charlie’s home life, he adopted the drummer unofficially and Charlie moved out of the house and began to live with Koa. When the band hit it big, Sunshine Addendum hired Koa as head security and Koa happily took the gig. Koa is a muscular Samoan man with tattoos, short black hair and brown eyes.

Fernando has reincarnated into Robert

Robert is the CEO of Garner Music, the biggest name in music production. Garner music owns Sunshine Addendum as the band signed with them after winning a battle of the bands at their college. Robert sees a lot of potential in Sunshine Addendum but wants to make sure it is controlled, which is why he assigned his secretary Caroline to also manage the band. He is married with a kid, however is having an affair with Caroline. He also manages Priya and has it planned that Priya and Lucas will eventually become a couple, much to the dismay of Lucas. Robert is approving of Lucas’s bad boy image but says once his wild days are over, Priya would be the ideal option to rehab his image. Robert is a handsome, Latin man with grey/white hair and brown eyes. His karmic goal is justice from the past, though he is unaware of this.

Eleanor has reincarnated into Caroline

Caroline is Robert’s secretary and has been assigned to manage Sunshine Addendum for the past couple of years. Caroline and Robert have known each other since they were in college and Caroline is hopelessly in love with Robert, who doesn’t return her affections beyond their physical affair. She had a soft spot for the band and internally thinks of it like her created family with Robert. Her karmic goal is getting away from Robert and starting her own live but she is not cognitively aware of this. Caroline is a middle aged white woman with long white hair and brown eyes.

Hilda has reincarnated into Sarah

Sarah met Bell and Amina in college when they were roommates. When Sarah joined Bell and Amina to visit their hometown, she fell in love with it and wanted to open up her own bakery. She was successful and now runs the bakery down the street from the bookstore. Sarah is a Chinese American woman with black hair and dark brown eyes.

Priya is a new soul that has become involved with the court.

Priya is a famous movie star. She was a child star on a show with Garner Music in their television partnership with a television studio and is still managed by Robert as she has entered the film industry. She trusts Robert with her life as he was more present for her than her own parents and trusts his judgement when she says her and Lucas should be together. Her actual ideal partner is Wayne, however she would need to meet him and be willing to take the risk for a normal person rather than someone picked by Robert. Until then, she is fixated on eventually being with Lucas. Priya is an Indian woman with long black hair and brown eyes.

Eddie is a new soul that has become involved with the court.

Eddie met Bell in college and developed a crush but never shared his feelings. He is closest friends with Wayne. When his friend group moved, he joined despite not having any interest in the area itself. He works in a hobby store and game store and has little ambition. He is a self identified nice guy and assumes him and Bell will end up in a relationship despite never making his intentions clear. He can periodically be possessive of Bell but not because he is in love with her but feels entitled to the idea of her. In his perfect world, they would move away once they stock piled enough money and she sold her parents store, which she never wants to do. His karmic purpose is to choose a path for himself and be upfront with his desires, however he is not aware of it. Eddie is a blonde white guy with brown eyes and glasses.

Wayne is a new soul that has become involved with the court.

Wayne is a part of the friend group and currently studying to be a vet. So he works close to his friend group at a local pet store. He likes the area and wants to stay. He is a perfect match for Priya however he would need to meet her and work up the confidence to pursue an elite woman such as her. He is closest in the friend group with Amina and Eddie. Wayne is a black man with black hair and brown eyes.

The reincarnated couples will not remember their love and history together until they hook up for the first time. However they will be intensely drawn to each other regardless of remembering the past. The reincarnated couples are Bell and Lucas, Sasha and Amina, and Koa and Sarah
