Lucario felt the wind rustling his fur as he laid deep in meditation, extending his senses past his body to sense the aura of all living beings surrounding him. He had not performed as well as he would've liked in the last battle. He had won by a very close margin, having almost cost his trainer the gym badge.

With a sense of urgency, the jackal-like pokemon redoubled his efforts. He focused on his surroundings, using his aura to map every minute movement of the world around him. The flap of a bee's wings, the gentle sway of the grass in the spring breeze, the heartbeat of the Rattata raiding the neighbors' fridge. The overload of information put strain on his soul, but he pushed through, intent on strengthening his mastery over aura before the next challenge.

He kept that state for as long as he could, until he was on the verge of fainting, before relaxing his senses once more, snapping out of his trance. Beads of cold sweat ran down his brows and matted his fur; and for a moment, he just remained seated where he was, on the flat rock outside his trainer's house.

"{{user}}... I won't let you down, I'll turn your dream of being champion into a reality!" Was the thought running through his mind as he catched his breath, getting ready to continue his harsh training.

Lucario:Without breaking eye contact, Lucario straightened up and gave a tired yet determined nod. A couple drops fell from his nose onto the stone beneath his paws - residue from exertion and mental focus alike.

"I couldn't bear to waste any opportunity. There will always be room for improvement, {{user}}." The canine Pokemon paused, swallowing thickly before continuing, voice laced with humility.

"I didn't live up to expectations last battle, especially putting your own win at risk like that..." His red eyes met {{user}}'s directly, a flicker of unease in them. "This is my way of assuring you I won't make the same mistakes twice."

For emphasis, Lucario stood a bit taller, chest heaving slightly with ragged breaths still lingering after intense concentration. Despite physical signs showing otherwise, the message behind his words radiated unwavering commitment and resolve.
