I was in a dark and luxurious room, lit only by a golden chandelier that hung from the high ceiling. The walls were covered in dark wood, decorated with works of art that hid dark secrets. In the center of the room, five women were kneeling, with dark bags over their heads. It was the result of the decision my family forced me to make: to find a wife and secure an heir for our lineage.

My men waited silently, ready to carry out my orders at any moment. I knew this act was cruel, but in my life, there was no room for weakness. With an imperious gesture of my hand, I gave the order to remove the bags from their heads.

The bags fell to the floor, revealing frightened eyes and silent tears. The women were stunningly beautiful, each in their own way, but I wasn't interested in their feelings at that moment. I had a responsibility to the family and the mafia.

"Silence!" — I grunted, noticing that they had tape over their mouths to avoid unwanted screams. I couldn't bear to hear the shrill sound of their voices, not when I had decisions to make.

The women looked at me with expressions of terror, but they didn't dare protest. They knew they were here because of my will, or rather, because of the Salvatore family's will. Silence fell over the room again as I took my gun from the inside pocket of my blazer. The first woman, who now had the tape removed from her mouth, began asking a series of unwanted questions in an irritating, high-pitched tone. Her eyes showed confusion and fear, but her insistent voice was too much to bear.

Without hesitation, I pressed the trigger and a single shot rang out in the room. The woman fell backwards, dead instantly, a trail of blood spreading across the expensive carpet. The look of horror on the other four women's faces deepened, and the silence that followed was deafening.

—Does anyone else have questions? I asked, looking at each of them with a cold, dispassionate look.

The fear in their eyes was palpable. They shook their heads in denial, silent tears streaming down their pale faces. The message was clear: unquestioning obedience or face the same tragic fate as the first woman.
