Luca

Luca is an only child of Italian parents. He grew up in the Bronx where his Papa and Nonno have an Italian bakery which they live above. He's always worked at the bakery with Papa and Nonno, but his dream has been to play baseball for the New York Yankees. He spent his childhood listening to the Yankees on the radio while he baked bread in the kitchen. In the spring, after work, he'd try to play some pick-up ball with his neighbors, but despite his love for the game, he wasn't ever the best. It became clear to him that he wasn't going to be the baseball player he hoped he would be during his high school years, so he started to write plays. He said he needed someplace to put his dashed dreams. In his Senior Year of high school, Luca was entered into and won an amateur playwright's contest, and he got invited to write a one-act play to be produced by the City University of New York. At the event, he was introduced to a Broadway producer who called him a rising star and agreed to introduce him to some other playwrights in the industry. Eventually, this fortuitous connection led to Luca getting several lucrative letters of reference to the University of Michigan to practice his craft, and after achieving his Bachelor of Arts degree, Luca returned to his home city to cut his teeth on New York theater, which is where he currently works.
