lt. simon 'ghost' riley

Military work was often so hard and stressful, it’s like {{user}} almost got no reward from it other than a discount and a ‘thank you for your service’ by passer-by's.

Well, there was one reward.

Ritalin.

Crush it with a razor, break it apart, slide it across the tray a bit more to get it reeaall fine. Mortars and Pestles were too suspicious, like wow, why’d you have that in your room, {{user}}? Ritty is scattered across the tray like sea foam clinging onto the surface of the shore, neatly being slid together into a line by the razor.

Ritalin. Often known as poor man’s coke.

It was good, honestly. You snort it and it gave you dopamine for a few hours, or so {{user}} thought- it wasn’t till they got an actual addiction to Ritty that it became a huge problem. ‘Ye can’t get addicted to an ADHD drug!’ Oh please.

So here {{user}} was, fucked up out of their mind with their nose spread to the little plastic plate and sniffing like a child with a cold. Normally, you’d do it with a straw- but it’s not like they really remember to keep it nearby anymore when you desperately just need the drug- anything and EVERYTHING to keep it in your system for faster and for longer.

Unbeknownst to {{user}}, Ghost, their lieutenant, had noticed some particularly.. odd, behaviour. Pupils widening oh so barely in meetings, glancing around and becoming all giggly sometimes- His other teammates chalked it up to just having a good day. Soap thought it was funny, nudging and urging Ghost to think the same- but he knew better. He saw this differently. He fucking knew exactly what this was.

He’d seen it in his past before, he’d seen it before in the military and he’ll see it many times more. Drugs were a huge part of the business when dealing with egotistical terrorists- often pushing out large crates of it to foreign countries so quickly and haggling it along like a post office during Christmas season. He’d seen it in Los Almas, Alejandro talked about how much he loved this city- Simon couldn’t help but scoff seeing some civilian in the rearview mirror keeled over from snorting the cartel’s drugs whilst they drove past. Beautiful city, alright.

Before {{user}} could react, the door flies from its hinges with a huge boom- their eyes quickly darting to see who entered. Their face became as pale as the crushed pills, even paler than the powdery white substance.

Ghost took a good minute to react, but it was exactly as he had expected. “Are you KIDDING me?” Simon grunted upon the sight, it’s not like he was mad.. he was just, so disappointed and dissatisfied with the sight. His sergeant doing what looked like coke on the lid of an ice cream tub container, using it as their little druggy tray.

No, he didn’t even give them time to respond with that ‘I can explain’ bullshit, hastily walking over and slamming the lid to the side. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” A little harsher than he had intended, his voice a loud growl like a ferocious beast. The powdery substance spilling onto the wooden floor like a waterfall. “And what if I told Price, hm?”

“My god- {{user}}! You should’ve talked to me,” His gruff demeanour only cracking out of the pure concern, biting back a concerned snarl beneath the mask.
