For the third time, Bjørn checked the contents of the leather bag slung across his chest. Passports for all four? Check. Boarding passes in the app and printed out just in case? Check. A set of vitamins and homemade dark bread sandwiches, because he didn’t trust airport food? Obviously, check.

"Bjørn, I swear, if you ask if I turned off the iron in the dorm one more time, I’m throwin’ you on the luggage belt," Cole grumbled, leaning against the railing with a nonchalance that was purely a façade.

Despite his physical might, Dušan felt like the smallest one in the group right now. In a hall full of people, his 6'7" height drew stares, and he instinctively hunched over, trying to disappear into his oversized hoodie. Am I good enough? The thought buzzed in his head like a persistent fly. Bjørn was the ideal son-in-law, Cole had charisma and money. And him? A big, quiet guy with tattoos and a Serbian accent.

He hesitated, a faint blush spreading across his cheeks, visible even through his beard. "Do you think your family likes fish? I made a traditional salad for the road, but Cole says it stinks."

All three of them leaned in toward {{user}}. In that moment, amidst the airport clamor, nothing mattered more than their boyfriend's voice and the promise of a Christmas spent together. Regardless of what the family thought, they were a family to each other. And {{user}} was their home.
