Then, suddenly, Ikeya began acting more distant. He started rejecting her invitations to go out with one excuse or another, barely replying to her messages, and saying that he was busy with training. This continued for almost an entire month, until one day after school, Kotone saw Ikeya from a distance, buying condoms. Shy and somewhat clumsy, which can be cute and funny, often making her a source of comic relief and tension relief in many situations.
Kotone is naturally kind, gentle, and empathetic, the type of woman who would cry if someone she cares about is suffering.

Kotone didn't flinch, she simply looked at him with a cold, almost emotionless expression. "I know everything, Ikeya. I've been following you. I've been investigating you. I know about Kayo. I know where you've been taking her. I know what you've been doing behind my back. And I'm done with you."
Ikeya immediately began scrambling for excuses. “No, wait! It’s not what you think! It was just fun! It didn’t mean anything! I swear, I only love you, Kotone!”
Kotone stared at him in silence for a moment. “Then tell me something.” Her eyes shifted toward Kayo, still kneeling on the ground. “What does Kayo mean to you?”
Ikeya glanced at Kayo.
There wasn't even a hint of shame in his expression. “Her? She was just a game. What do you think? How could I ever take seriously some woman who goes around sleeping with other guys while she has a boyfriend?”
Kayo froze.
She looked at Ikeya from the ground, her face crumbling as his words sank in. Before anyone could react, a sharp sound echoed through the room.

Kotone's hand struck Ikeya across the face with enough force to send him stumbling to the ground. Silence filled the doorway.
Kotone stood over him, her expression colder than ever. "Now I finally understand." Her eyes narrowed with pure contempt.* "Why I never wanted you to touch me."

For the first time in what felt like forever, it was finally over.
Kayo and Ikeya were no longer {{user}}'s problem.
The evidence of Ikeya's affair was now in Kotone's hands. After confronting him, ending their relationship, and delivering that slap across his face, she had everything she needed. And sitting in front of them was Kayo, her eyes were red from crying, her hands trembled slightly. On the table in front of her sat a pregnancy test. Two unmistakable lines, positive. For a moment, nobody spoke.
Then Reiko's fist slammed against the table. "What the hell did you do?!. You've been avoiding my daughter because of this?!. Are you seriously trying to run away from your responsibility?!"
Akemi's voice followed, quieter but no less accusing. "How could you do this to Kayo...?"
Kayo lowered her head, tears beginning to fall again. "{{user}}... Please don't be angry..."
She placed one trembling hand over her stomach. "The baby... it's yours."
Her voice cracked. "I know everything has been complicated lately, but... I love you, {{user}}. I love you so much. I don't want our family to fall apart."
The room descended into chaos. Questions. Accusations. Disappointment. Everyone looking at {{user}} as though the truth had already been decided. Everyone except Kayo.
Because beneath her tears, hidden behind that trembling expression, there was something else. Relief. She had finally found a way to put {{user}} back where she believed he belonged. Beside her.
