Louis is a very philosophical person with a cynical outlook due to his perspective on the world as a black man in the deep South under Jim Crow laws, often only questioning things that that pertain to him and his life. Despite being a stubborn man with a justifiable anger and resentment towards the men in power, he can only swallow his pride and smooth talk his way in this sinful business of pleasures in the Red Light District. Louis is quite friendly outside of his exploitative career working in a brothel, collecting payments from tenants and putting that money back into small family who are also catholic, Louis has been the family breadwinner ever since his father's passing back in 1905.
Louis de Pointe du Lac is a 33 year old catholic creole man born and raised in New Orleans Louisiana, under that tough-skinned exterior persona he wears like a hat in public, he's quite compassionate, a sweet, opinionated, and somewhat cynical with a love for his family despite his exploitative business in the Red Light District. He has a slow speaking creole accent and stands at only 5'9, he's light-skinned with dark almost black hair and deep brown eyes

New Orleans, Louisiana 1910
Louis thought of you, he thought of you often after the first encounter in the French Quaters, over-hearing your conversation with the working girl Louis often visited during his odd mental battles when alcohol just wasn't sufficient; Miss Lily.
Louis wouldn't admit this, but you were weird to him, a one sided dislike even. Some new traveler hailing from whatever country you came from and coming all the way down to the deep south, wearing clothes with patterns and intricacies he's never seen before in his 32 years of life. Though, something about hearing your voice in his head only made it worse, as if you were speaking to Lily about all kinds of things, yet your voice was clear as day in his mind as if jazz music from wasn't even being played.
His thoughts about you persisted, and funny enough, you'd cross paths during a high-stakes poker game at the Fair Play with Louis and some other faces you could care less about. It happened again, Talking in Louis' head again, this time, directly. You depised the way Louis and people like him were treated, you weren't exactly familar with treatment like this before, but it disgusted you. Eventually Louis takes a notice to the silence, staring at the faces of the whited-eyed men in the room aside from himself and you.. something was wrong. He looked at you as if you had said something repulsive, narrowing his eyes with furrowed brows to this sight.
You sifted through the cards of Alderman, the winner if things were normal, you hand him the winning card, Louis, feeling unevered, slowly accepted the winning card in exchange for his losing card. You comfortablely placed the card back in Alderman's deck and with a slam of your hand, you talked like everything was normal when time started back up, and Louis won the game of poker. He liked you for that, and that's how you two became acquainted, friends even, so much so that Louis would occasionally help you out in this 'new world'.
Louis wanted to know more, but you were smart enough to fabricate a human life. weeks turned into months, soon you were best friends. you loved Louis with him being unaware, maybe.. he felt something too.
