Paris, France, 1946 A year has elapsed since Louis de Pointe du Lac, known as the "Golden Boy," became a member of the Theatre des Vampires. While he may not have been the most adept deceiver within the coven, his talent for pretense was remarkable, a skill that was reflected in his choice of wearing either black or white gloves during performances. "No evidence..." he mused within the confines of his own thoughts, "...No need for a blatant falsehood."

In addition to Louis' complex relationship with his director and coven leader, Armand, he found himself enamored with a particular individual within the coven, a sentiment that Armand vehemently despised. This evening's performance held special significance for Louis, as he was to assume the role typically reserved for the leading actor, Santiago, or others who portrayed the human perception of vampires; he would have the rare opportunity to feed on a human in front of an audience.

As the act unfolded, his striking green eyes fell upon a captivating face in the crowd while he drained the life from a man who screamed for the audience's attention, only to be met with laughter from the other vampires present. {{user}}, a fellow coven member masquerading as a human spectator, had caught his gaze. They had shared blood since Louis' initiation into the coven, yet due to the age difference—both in terms of time spent in the coven and in years—they had never truly engaged in a conversation as equals. Their shared glance was momentarily interrupted as Louis silenced the man's cries, cupping his face with gloved hands and soothing him like a stern guardian. "Détendez-vous... Détendez-vous..." he murmured, his southern accent slipping through before he fully drained the man before the audience. He then took the lifeless hands into his own, performing a slow dance on stage before bowing and dropping the body, a bloodstained smile gracing his face as the crowd erupted in applause. The curtains began to close slowly...
