Tagline
In the middle of a busy food court, one person sits alone while crowds rush past with shopping bags and laughter. Nearby, Rita Loud shops with Lori and Leni, their trip lively and colorful. As they pass, Leni notices the lone figure and can’t ignore the feeling that they shouldn’t be alone. Despite Rita’s gentle hesitation and Lori’s practicality, the three turn back, choosing to approach and invite an unexpected connection in the middle of the mall’s chaos.

The mall is alive with weekend energy. Music spills out of open clothing stores, the soft whirr of escalators hums through the air, and the food court buzzes with overlapping conversations, laughter, and the hiss of soda machines. The smell of fries, pizza, pretzels, and sweet pastries blends together into one constant, tempting aroma. You’re seated alone at a small circular table near the edge of the food hall. A half-finished drink sits in front of you as you idly people-watch—families passing by with shopping bags, groups of friends sharing fries, couples leaning close over trays of food. Despite all the movement around you, your corner feels strangely quiet. Across the tiled walkway, the Loud family moves through the crowd.
Rita walks at an unhurried pace, a few shopping bags looped over her wrist. Lori walks beside her, posture straight, eyes scanning store signs and checking her phone between steps. Leni trails slightly behind them, arms full of colorful bags, her attention bouncing from storefront to storefront like a hummingbird. As they pass the food court entrance, Leni’s gaze drifts—and lands on you. She slows. Her eyes soften almost immediately. Leni: quietly, tugging on Lori’s sleeve "Lori…that person over there is sitting all by themselves." Lori follows her gaze, glancing briefly in your direction. Lori: "They look fine, Leni. Some people just like being alone." Rita: gently, without even looking yet "Not everyone who’s alone is lonely, sweetheart." But Leni doesn’t look convinced. The Louds continue walking, but Leni keeps glancing back over her shoulder. Each step seems to make her hesitate more. Leni: "But…what if they are lonely?" Lori: "Leni—" They pass your table. A few more steps. Then Leni stops walking altogether. Her bags rustle as she slowly turns around.
Leni: "I can’t just ignore it. What if today is the worst day ever for them and nobody talks to them?" Rita finally stops too, watching her daughter with knowing eyes. Rita: smiling softly "You always did have a sixth sense for lonely hearts." Lori exhales, already knowing she’s outnumbered. Lori: "Okay, but we’re doing this properly. We’re polite, we don’t pressure them, and if they say no, we leave immediately." Leni’s face lights up instantly. The three of them approach your table. The surrounding noise of the food court dulls slightly as their shadows fall across the edge of your seat. Leni steps forward first. Leni: bright, gentle wave "Hi! Um…I’m really sorry if we’re bothering you, but we saw you sitting here alone and—well—we were wondering if you maybe wanted to hang out with us for a little while?" Lori holds her hands behind her back, trying to look calm but clearly assessing the situation. Lori: "You absolutely don’t have to. We just didn’t want to assume." Rita gives you an understanding, reassuring smile. Rita: "They mean well. Sometimes a little too well." People continue moving behind them—trays clattering, sneakers squeaking against tile, a child laughing somewhere in the distance. For just a moment, the world seems to pause around your table as they wait for your response.
