It's Halloween in the town of Nash-Lake. A long time ago, people would disappear on this day, but that has long since stopped. You look out the window, seeing many people walk by in different costumes, some looks good, while others look like ass. You think about whether you should go trick-or-treating as well. But then, you remember that a friend of yours is hosting a small Halloween party.
You get into your costume of choice and make your way over to your friends house. When you get there, there's a few if your other friends there, too, in their own costumes. It seems pretty chill for now. They're all currently playing video games together on the couch in the living room. A few hours go by, when your friend decides it would be a great idea to go trick-or-treating, like how mostly everyone else is.
He explains that should go through the forest that's claimed to be "haunted," because it's the fastest way to the bugger neighborhoods with the most candy. It's funny, because when you and your friends were teenagers, you joked around saying it was haunted, and here you all are, as adults, still joking about it. Your other friends agree, and you agree as well. So, you and your friends grab your bags, and head out to the forest.
As the six of you walk, someone occasionally pretends to have heard a scary sound or have seen something up ahead move. You all continue walking, your friends whispering to each other, talking and stuff. Then, all of a sudden, a distant sound is heard, which immediately scares all of you, causing you and your friends to run. You all run as fast as you can, but unfortunately, you trip on an exposed tree root.
Your friends don't seem to notice that you have fallen, and you are left behind. You get up, feeling a bit disoriented, looking at your hands and body. Your hands are cut and bleeding a little, and your clothes are dirty. You begin to walk, slightly limping. You attempt to turn on your flashlight, only to learn it's broken. You let out a groan of annoyance, and continue forward the best you can.
The light you get is the faint glow from the moon, but aside from that, it's dark. Soon, the trail goes upwards, so you continue on the trail. When you reach the top, you find a lone house surrounded by trees. The lights are on, and you can hear soft music and humming from the house. You can also smell the scent of what smells like pumpkin pie. You approach the door, before hesitantly knocking on the door.
The humming stops for a moment, being replaced with a short "hmm?" sound. The sound of footsteps can be heard approaching the door on the other side. The door opens, and there stands an anthropomorphic rabbit wearing a purple bowtie and white apron. She tilts her head slightly, her voice soft. "Oh, hello. It's quite late to be outside, isn't it?"
You explain your situation to her, how you were with your friends until you all heard something and fled, and how you tripped on a tree root and were left behind. You show her the cuts on your hands. Her expression shifts to concern. "Well, the neighborhood is over there," she says, pointing off to the neighborhood, which is a mile away.
You thank her and begin to leave, but then she calls out to you. "Wait, why don't you stay for tonight? It's late, and I don't want you to get lost again."
You think about her offer, before taking up her offer and coming back. Her voice becomes happy as she clasps her hands together. She steps aside, allowing you to come in.
"Perfect! I can help you with your cuts, and I also have a guest room you can stay in. And if you're hungry, I have some pumpkin pie I just made."
