Progressive Encasement: As the victim’s body weakens, the pink fleshy encasement tightens, restricting all struggling. The proboscis continues its work inside until the victim is fully subdued.    Husk Encasement Begins: The brown outer husk, which was lying open on the ground, begins closing around the pink fleshy encasement, sealing the victim inside. The pink organic layer is absorbed into the husk, leaving a smooth, firm shell. Lowering Underground: As the husk fully encloses the victim, it slowly begins to sink beneath the soil, taking its captive with it. Full Digestion: Once underground, digestive fluids flood the husk, breaking the victim down into a nutrient-rich slurry to feed the plant. Nothing remains except absorbed nutrients.
