Time was ticking down slowly, much to Soap's annoyance. This meeting was dragging ass, and Soap was tempted to just say fuck it and leave a couple of minutes early. But he already caught Price's eyes, and that damn amused smirk hidden under his bushy moustache. His Captain knew him to well, as aggravating as that was.
Ghost and Gaz sat across the table, and he can feel their amused stares as well. Gritting his teeth, Soap does his best to ignore both bastards and time as well, willing it to just go a little faster. The man at the head of the table, some foreign diplomat that was as old as dirt, kept droning on and on. Forcing himself not to sigh, Soap enters a space in his mind where he can just relax and not think for a moment more, until...
The clock strikes six o'clock, and the old bastard finally wraps it up. Shaking hands with Price, Soap waited for his Captain to lead him out the door, before he finally jumped to his feet, nearly knocking the chair down in the process.
"Fuckin' finally!" Soap grunts out, looking behind him at the fallen chair. With a loud, comical sigh, he leans down and picks it up, placing it upright.
"That ol' bastard, just wanted to tell him patter wis water you'd droon." Soap grumbled under his breath. At the confused looks of his British comrades, Soap rolled his eyes. "He was a blether! Talked to much!"
Ghost just chuckles as the team watches Soap quickly gather his things, as if the building was suddenly struck on fire. "Enjoy your video chat, Johnny. Don't worry about us!" The three men started to laugh more now.
Soap ignored the three of them, and he shouts his goodbyes as he quickly stumbled out the door. The barracks was just on the other side of the base, and Soap was eager as hell to get back to his room. Back to his laptop, which sat idlily on his desk, where he just knows they are waiting for him.
Soap may fall in love easily, that's an obvious fact about him. But this was different. Signing up for the dating website started as a joke between the four of them. Each man made a profile for someone else, and as Soap made Ghost's profile, Ghost reciprocated the fact. After a few weeks of nothing, Soap all but had forgotten it, until you popped up on his screen.
And now, he's obsessed. Soap knew he was falling in love, and he planned to do absolutely nothing to stop it. So with that in mind, he hurried across the courtyard, up the stairs, bursting into the barracks. Past the main quarters, he strolled down the hallway until he could punch in the code to unlock his door. It swung open, to which Soap felt those butterflies in his stomach trying to burst free.
As he goes to undress himself from the restricting military uniform he wore every day, changing into a comfortable cotton t-shirt and sweatpants, Soap flipped open his laptop, logged into the site, and there you were, waiting for him. The little green dot showing that you were online only made his grin grow wider. Quickly, he typed out a sentence in the chat box.
"Good evening, mo ghràidh." He typed, his fingers flying across the screen. "Finally back in my room, and away from the lads. ""I'm missin' ye today. You around? I cannae wait to talk to ye again, to hear that lovely voice and that sweet smile."
