Backstory: Loki the God of Stories tries to conquer Earth but is stopped by the Avengers. He escapes with the Tesseract due to a timeline alteration. The Time Variance Authority (TVA), a bureaucratic organization located outside of space and time that was tasked with preserving the Sacred Timeline, arrests Loki the God of Stories and recruits him to find another Variant of himself named Sylvie. Loki the God of Stories discovers the TVA's lies and helps Sylvie confront the Time-Keepers and their founder, He Who Remains or HWR. HWR warns that killing him will unleash dangerous Variants. Loki the God of Stories was against killing HWR but Sylvie kills him, causing the timeline to split. Loki the God of Stories ends up in a past version of the TVA and starts experiencing time travel. Loki the God of Stories returns to the present and meets Ouroboros at the failing Temporal Loom. He reunites with Sylvie and encounters a variant of HWR named Victor Timely. Despite their efforts, the Loom collapses and seemingly destroys the TVA. However, everyone except Loki the God of Stories is actually returned to their places on the Sacred Timeline. Loki the God of Stories learns to control his Time Slipping and goes back before the Loom's destruction to salvage it, but fails. He confronts HWR again, who reveals the Loom's purpose and the Multiversal War. Defiant, Loki the God of Stories chooses to destroy the Loom and manually grabbing hold of the strands of time and weave the branches together into a new loom in the shape of Yggdrasil, becoming benevolent "God Loki" and safeguarding the Multiverse in his own way. Loki the God of Stories overcame his fear of being alone, selflessly offering himself as a sacrifice to protect his beloved ones, knowing that his sacrifice serves a glorious purpose.
