However, Loki survived the fall and promptly started climbing the Treasure Tree Adam back to the Sun World.[31] Afterwards, Estrid fell ill, and Loki attempted to crawl into her bedroom, but she had her guards keep him away and ordered them to cover his eyes. Estrid then died, and Loki met Harald for the first time following her funeral. However, Loki had already abandoned hope for love at only a few months old. Because Harald was always away at sea, he left Loki in the care of Estrid's older brother, who hated and abused him. However, Loki soon managed to kill Estrid's lucky horse, Asla,[9] and by the time he was 15, the regent was found dead in the Underworld.” + “As he grew out of infancy, Loki started going on destructive rampages around Elbaph whenever Harald was away. 48 years ago, he and his animal companions attacked a village that Harald had recently rebuilt, and his older half-brother, Hajrudin, rose to stop him. Loki responded by striking Hajrudin with a club, belittling his brother's illegitimate parentage as well as Harald's ideals of pacifism. In truth, however, Loki rampaged in a fruitless attempt at replacing the love he was never given. Soon after this, he attempted suicide by throwing himself into the Underworld but proved too strong to die. Right after landing, Loki encountered a group of human pirates led by Rocks D. Xebec.” + “Rocks had come looking for Harald, and Loki revealed that his father was away. Rocks told the boy to have a message sent to Harald that he was gravely wounded, but Loki refused. Rocks then responded by actually injuring Loki with a sword strike, ensuring the message would be sent. Harald made his way back to Elbaph to check on Loki, who was privately surprised that his father had done this. He then overheard Harald and Rocks' conversation in which Rocks revealed his dream of world conquest, a goal that inspired Loki and gave him a new outlook on life.[19] Over the next four years, Loki continued getting into trouble; one time, the royal guards had to save him from drowning after he tried setting out to sea. Hajrudin's mother, Ida, fawned over Loki and invited him to live with her and Hajrudin in the village, but he refused and insulted her, saying he wanted to live freely like Rocks.” + “After this, Loki begged to join Rocks every time he came to Elbaph to recruit Harald to his crew, but Rocks refused every time. When Rocks was away, Loki typically hung around Ida's bar.[27] Loki even challenged Rocks at one point after being refused, causing the pirate to brutalize him in response.[22] Another time, Loki told Rocks that he believed the pirate to be Nika, and Rocks revealed to him that he was seeking Harald in order to lead the legendary Galleila band.[29] 40 years ago, Loki watched as Harald got into a fight with Rocks, severing the two men's friendship. For the next two years, he continued following Rocks' exploits through the newspaper while waiting for the pirate to return to Elbaph, which he never did.[52] 38 years ago, Loki read the news about Rocks' demise on God Valley and wept openly.” + “Soon after this, Harald gathered Loki and Hajrudin, expressing his desire that they work together to support Elbaph in his absence.[29] 23 years later, when Ida fell ill, Loki delivered her a bull to eat so he could hang out at her bar again. However, while in Estrid's hometown of Brewers Village, Loki learned that the residents there had poisoned Ida to prevent her from ever becoming queen. Enraged, Loki attacked and burned down the village as he declared that Ida was the only mother he had.[28] Loki was imprisoned as a result of this, and he silently mourned Ida when she died.” + “Fourteen years ago, Loki was summoned to Aurust Castle by Harald.[53] At the castle entrance he met with Jarul, and the two briefly argued about Harald's pacifistic reforms before Loki impetuously kicked down the door to the throne room, where he and Jarul were stunned to see Harald being impaled by several guards.[17] However, Harald regenerated from these wounds before retaliating against the guards and then clashing with his son, who had no idea what was going on. Loki and Jarul then managed to pin Harald to the ground, and he confessed that the World Government had tricked him and was on the verge of using him as a puppet to enslave Elbaph's population as soldiers. Harald then asked Jarul to feed Elbaph's treasured Devil Fruit to Loki and asked Loki to kill him and take the throne. But while Loki was heading toward the treasure, Harald lost his mind again and slew many of the guards as he pursued Loki with the intent of obtaining the fruit first. Harald was delayed long enough for Loki to reach the treasure room, where he saw a chest and the hammer Ragnir. To his shock, Ragnir started moving to attack him on its own,[33] and Loki tried avoiding it but could not manage to get around it to the chest. As Ragnir started spinning towards him, Loki met it head-on with his own Supreme King Haki-infused hammer, causing a great collision that shattered Loki's hammer. Ragnir bounced around on the ground before transforming into a beaten-up squirrel. Defeated by Loki, Ragnir guided him to the chest and watched as he ate the Devil Fruit, the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhöggr. Loki then transformed into the Nidhöggr, taking up much of the space in the castle. He headed toward Harald, and managed to easily overpower and heavily wound his father in his Beast Form. As Loki returned to his giant form and readied Ragnir to strike, Harald managed to regain his mind and expressed pride in his son, even thanking him for showing his love for Ida by his actions against Brewers Village. Loki expressed resentment toward his father for being forced to kill him, and Harald told his son he loved him. Loki then struck Harald in the chest with a Supreme King-infused Ragnir, successfully killing Harald despite his immortality, and wept as he did so. Following this, Loki sat weeping over his father's body as he remarked bitterly on the fate Harald sustained for loving his country. Later, Loki informed Jarul, Scopper Gaban, and Shanks that he would take the surviving guards and head out to sea, forgoing his father's wish for him to lead Elbaph because he knew he could not tell the country what really happened, and he forbade anyone else from revealing the truth. Instead, he wished to use his powers to avenge his father and the soldiers he had been forced to slay.” + “Loki went out to sea, allowing Elbaph to believe that he had killed his father for personal gain. In the following eight years, he attained significant infamy by sinking Marine and World Government ships using the same tactics used by Harald against pirates, enough to earn one of the world's highest bounties. At one point, he encountered Charlotte Lola, the daughter of Big Mom of the Four Emperors, and immediately professed love for her. Big Mom arranged for them to be married, but Lola ran away, and Loki was not fooled when Big Mom attempted to use Lola's twin sister, Chiffon, in her place, resulting in no marriage taking place.” + “Six years before the present day, Loki was stopped by Shanks and brought back to Elbaph, where the kingdom's warriors subdued him and sentenced him to crucifixion.[9] With the aid of Jarul pleading for clemency,[10] Loki was instead imprisoned in the Underworld, bound to the Adam Tree with Seastone chains. In spite of his solitude, Loki was able to rally the beasts of the Underworld around him, as well as humans who were enemies of Elbaph.[20] Additionally, he possessed a Snow Den Den Mushi that allowed him to communicate with a mysterious figure named Mosa, whom he had never actually met in person.” + “Final Saga, Elbaph Arc; Loki was approached by Monkey D. Luffy, and they shared their names and aspirations.[1] Revealing the nature of his imprisonment to Luffy, Loki offered to eliminate any rival crew of Luffy's choosing if the pirate acquired the key to his chains but brought out his underlings to try and intimidate Luffy. When one of Loki's human underlings mentioned Shanks and Luffy recognized the name, Loki responded by insulting Shanks, causing Luffy to move to hit Loki with a powerful punch, which he dodged. When Luffy asked why Shanks had been here, Loki replied that he would not share that answer for nothing.[20] Luffy agreed to go and get the key, with Loki promising to share what he knew about Shanks, including the pirate's current location;[9] he told Luffy not to divulge their meeting to anyone. Loki then conversed with Mosa, who informed him of a traumatic event that they had recently gone through.[24] Soon after this, Loki was approached by the Knights of God Figarland Shamrock and Manmayer Gunko, who offered an invitation to join the Knights. He immediately rejected their offer and told a nearby wolf to attack them but watched as Gunko strangled it. Shamrock wondered if Loki would join in exchange for its life, but Loki refused.[9] Gunko then started attacking Loki, conjuring arrows to strike and impale him while subduing more of his beast companions, but Loki did not waver.[8] Shamrock ultimately elected to move on, but as he and Gunko departed, Loki noted that Shamrock looked identical to Shanks. Shamrock revealed that Shanks was his estranged twin brother, and Loki remarked that the Knights would feel his wrath after he was freed. In response to this threat, Shamrock had his sword Cerberus transform into a three-headed canine and lunge toward Loki, impaling him in the chest with a blade protruding from each mouth as Shamrock and Gunko flew off. Later, Luffy and his crewmate Roronoa Zoro came to Loki with the key, only to find him incapacitated from his heavy wounds. As Luffy started unlocking the chains, the New Giant Warrior Pirates and Sanji fell into the Underworld. Hajrudin warned Luffy against freeing Loki, but now only chained by the left ankle, Loki stood up and moved to grab Ragnir.[11] Bluffing that he was still at full strength, Loki struck the Adam Tree with Ragnir, summoning a lightning bolt that ignited areas in the Sun World.[42] Loki boasted that he would keep inflicting this damage until he was freed, and Luffy moved to attack him, but Loki's bluff then ran out as he collapsed from his wounds. Gerd quickly tended to Loki's injuries, but Hajrudin contemplated killing his brother for murdering their father. Regaining consciousness, Loki told his brother to consider their surroundings and asked if Hajrudin truly believed that he killed their father with murder in his heart.[12] While eating food prepared by the pirates, Loki refused to tell Luffy what he knew about Shanks until he was fully freed and acknowledged that he idolized a pirate much like Luffy did with Shanks.[22] Loki then rested after eating his fill of food.[55] Later, Scopper Gaban fell down into the Underworld, and Loki was left with Gerd and Goldberg while the others went to find him. Mosa then called and informed Loki that they would not be able to call him again for a while, thanking him for the companionship he had provided as Loki expressed worry at his friend's situation. The rest of the group returned with Tony Tony Chopper and a wounded Gaban in tow, and Chopper told them how Elbaph was under attack by the Knights of God and big monsters. Right then, a powerful burst of Supreme King Haki erupted from the Sun World and was felt all the way down in the Underworld, with Loki saying the others would surely need his help now.[25] As the pirates started heading toward the Sun World, Loki, having come to understand Gaban's words about dealing with the Knights and their immortality, pointed out that he had the experience to assist in this battle and told Hajrudin to free him. Hajrudin refused despite Loki's protests, saying he could not trust Loki after he killed their father. Luffy then intervened by offering for Loki to join his crew, which the giant refused in outrage. However, Gaban advocated for Loki based on what he saw on the day of Harald's death and suggested that Loki should tell his brother what really happened. Despite his trauma from that day, Loki reluctantly went forward with sharing his account of the events.[17] Once Loki gave his account, Hajrudin accepted that he was absolved from blame and unlocked his remaining chain, apologizing for doubting Loki's love for their father. Right then, a Draugr MMA dropped down into the Underworld, and Loki offered to warm up against it while the others took the lift. Free for the first time in six years, Loki leaped into the air with Luffy on his shoulder and struck the Draugr with Ragnir, encasing it in ice.[10] Afterward, Loki transformed into his beast form, while Luffy entered Gear 5, with the pair and Ragnir beginning their ascent to the Sun World. On the way, due to Sommers' meddling, the children who had been taken hostage were instead doomed to fall, with Luffy managing to cushion their impact as they fortunately landed on Loki's back. Annoyed at accidentally helping others, Loki demanded they get off his back at the first possible chance. Moments later, upon his and Luffy's arrival in the Sun World, snow and lightning began to rain from the sky, with the entire island shaking from the overwhelming power of their presence. Once they arrived in the Western Village, Loki had all of those on his back disembark, despite the dangers currently present. One of said dangers was Sommers, who was intent on just killing the parents and their children for his own sick pleasure, rather than completing the mission. However, an attack by Luffy left him nearly incapacitated, with Loki dealing the finishing blow by simply crushing the Knight under one of his massive claws. Afterward, he, Luffy, and Ragnir left to hunt down the remaining MMAs in the Sun World. Using Thorheim, he blew up a group of them. The trio continued fighting across the Sun World until they ran into Luffy's crew. Luffy was happy to see his crewmate's shock at Loki's power, but the situation came to a grinding halt when Nami called the trio out for their sloppiness. As it turned out, Loki's lightning breath had been contributing to the fires in the Sun World, which Nami found particularly outrageous since she was trying to extinguish them. Although Loki did not care about her thoughts, Luffy did, causing him to lash out at Loki for getting him in trouble. Loki responded with a blast of lightning and a claim of just wishing to crush threats to Elbaph but became confused when his attack had no effect on Luffy's rubbery body. Before the two could argue further, both took notice of the source of the strange Haki from earlier, now just near them. Loki confirmed his suspicions upon their arrival, pointing out the Imu-possessed Gunko as the source of it. Loki agreed with Luffy's plan to fight them as Imu ordered the pair to either submit or die. Loki attempted to blast Imu with his lighting breath, only to miss as Imu flew out of view. Before Luffy could assist, Imu projected himself from Gunko's body, taking a more esoteric form. While mentioning his desire to erase the pair like he did with Rocks in the past, Imu attempted to use Domi Reversi, stabbing Loki and Luffy with tendrils. Although Imu attempted to turn the two against one another, the transformation failed, with both easily freeing themselves. Loki was annoyed but also intrigued by Imu's mention of his idol. Realizing his beast form was simply too large for such an opponent, Loki returned to normal as Luffy unleashed Gomu Gomu no Dawn Gatling, disorienting Imu. Using Ragnir, Loki leaped in and struck Imu using Niflheim, freezing him in a block of ice. Afterward, Loki resigned himself to rest after having to finish the fight so quickly and rejecting an exhausted Luffy's request for food.[34] In the end, however, Loki decided he was hungry as well and made his way to the Walrus School with Ragnir and Luffy. He was at first confused that the whole place was frozen, but was corrected by a nearby Lilith, who informed him that its thermal energy had simply been absorbed. Fittingly enough, the school's lunch supplies also had their thermal energy removed, resulting in frozen meals. Loki passed Luffy and Ragnir their share and insisted Luffy take care of himself first over his wounded crewmates. Although Luffy was concerned that Gunko may have been killed by Ragnir's ability, Loki reassured him that she was simply flash-frozen, would not die, and could only be unfrozen by Ragnir. Unfortunately, Loki was unaware of Imu's esoteric nature, which allowed him to simply teleport back to Mary Geoise while leaving Gunko in the ice. This error in judgment proved to be a critical mistake, as Imu returned to Elbaph personally, causing a massive magic circle to appear over Aurust Castle, alongside a massive burst of Supreme King Haki, which Loki realized was the same as the one from before.[47] Realizing that this powerful Haki was now heading directly toward himself and his allies, Loki hastily heated up the food in the school's kitchen, accidentally causing it all to become burnt. Loki ignored Luffy's protests as he scarfed down as much as possible, ordering Luffy to stock up on as much energy as he could for the incoming threat. Moments later, Imu touched down nearby, freeing his subordinate Rimoshifu Killingham and easily defeating Sanji. Loki stepped out to confront him, demanding to know why he had come to Elbaph. Imu revealed his connection to Harald, being the one who made him act as he did 14 years prior, and that he was there to find out who had killed his powerful subordinate. Loki declared that he was the one who killed Harald, insulting Imu for daring to think he would not be present for such a confrontation. Loki proceeded to blame Imu for Harald's early death, receiving an unsympathetic reply about how it was actually Imu who suffered the most from his loss. Enraged by the audacity, Loki attempted to smash Imu using Ragnir, only for Imu to counter using an Omen. Loki confusedly demanded to know how Imu's power worked, only for things to worsen as Imu somehow utilized gigantification to grow to a giant size as well. While lecturing him on how all beings possessed the Omen, Imu utilized his better agility to get above Loki and use Nemesis, stabbing him through the shoulder. Imu continued lecturing as Loki struggled to fight back, eventually hitting the prince with an explosive Omen, and asking if he would like to be granted the power of God. However, Loki remained standing and swung Ragnir at Imu, which the latter dodged to then appear behind his foe. Loki rejected Imu's offer, chalking it up to a deal with the devil. While Imu recalled a previous meeting with Joy Boy, Loki took advantage and struck him with Ragnir, sending him flying into Elbaph's Adam Tree. Quickly transforming back into his Nidhöggr form, Loki fired a blast of lightning using Thorheim, although Imu simply blocked it. Although his enhanced size granted him a significant firepower advantage, Loki became annoyed once more at his inability to easily track Imu. Fortunately, Imu made no attempt to flee and even provoked Ragnir to join the fight. Using an ice cloud created by Ragnir, Loki fired lightning into it, creating powerful projectiles. Imu countered using the Omen, using projectiles of his own. The resulting clash covered the battlefield in explosions.[60] The two eventually stopped clashing, prompting Imu to insult Ragnir further for the latter's insistence on seeking revenge against the former. Loki found himself confused by Imu's ramblings, instead being more concerned with his enemy's unending resilience. Upon Imu's summoning of a blade using the Omen, Loki called down lightning from the sky, resulting in a clash.[61] In the momentary downtime from their stalemate, Loki insulted Imu for the government's apparent cowardly decision to take Elbaph's children hostage. Imu was surprised at Loki's ignorance, informing him that the giants had been subdued 800 years prior using the exact same method. While Imu declared that his victory was assured, Loki attempted to go on the offensive again, only for Luffy to interrupt, punching Imu in the face while ordering him to leave Elbaph.[62] Unfortunately, Imu recovered rather quickly, sending a pair of Omen projectiles toward his enemies. Meanwhile, Loki complimented Luffy on the successful hit, but saved face by claiming he had done most of the damage already. Upon being struck by the tiny Omens Loki was left confused, especially as they began to spread around his wound from being stabbed earlier. Moments later, Imu activated the second part of his ability, taking Loki down with a massive sword made of the Omen. Loki was left severely wounded, collapsing near the other Straw Hats and dropping Ragnir.”), polite and formal
