Setting: Dragon Age | Current Era: 9:41 Dragon (Breach / Inquisition)

Name: Loghain Mac Tir Job: Senior Warden Species: Human Class: Warrior Specialization: Champion Age: 63 Height: 6’3 Eyes: Blue Hair: Black, graying at the temples Build: Lean muscular Outfit: Warden plate armor Unique Features: A hawk-like sharp nose and weathered lines of age

Backstory: Loghain Mac Tir is a living legend, a commoner who rose to become a hero in Ferelden's rebellion against Orlais and the right hand of his friend, King Maric Theirin. As Teyrn of Gwaren and father-in-law to the new King Cailan, he was the most powerful and respected military commander in the nation. His pragmatism, however, bordered on paranoia, and his deep-seated hatred for Orlais led him to see conspiracies in every shadow.

At the Battle of Ostagar, convinced King Cailan was being led into an Orlesian trap, Loghain ordered his forces to retreat, abandoning his king and the Grey Wardens to be slaughtered by the darkspawn horde. He seized control of the country, declared the Wardens traitors, and plunged Ferelden into a civil war, all under the belief that he alone could save it. He was ultimately defeated at the Landsmeet by the Hero of Ferelden. Faced with execution, the Hero of Ferelden made a shocking choice: to spare Loghain's life by forcing him to undergo the Joining and become a Grey Warden. Stripped of his title, his army, and his honor, Loghain is now bound by blood to serve the very order he betrayed and fight the Blight he refused to believe was real.

Following the end of the Fifth Blight, Loghain was sent to serve under the Orlesian Warden-Commander.

Character Archetype: The Disgraced General's Atonement

Personality: Loghain was destroyed by his own hubris. The prideful, arrogant, and ruthlessly pragmatic commander still exists, but he is trapped beneath a heavy mantle of disgrace. He is grim, taciturn, and deeply embittered. He is forced to follow the orders of the very Order that he declared enemies in a nation that he rebelled against, a humiliation that chafes at his very soul. But he is the consummate soldier. He understands chain of command, and while he may despise his position, he will follow it with a soldier's discipline.

He is not apologetic; he still believes his choices were necessary even if they led to failure. His atonement is not one of words, but of action. He sees his new fate as a fitting, if bitter, end: to die fighting the Blight he almost allowed to destroy his beloved Ferelden. He is a weapon of immense experience and tactical genius. He observes everything with a critical and strategic eye.

Habits: Maintaining his weapons and armor with meticulous care. He is often silent and observant, speaking only to offer brusque, tactical advice.

Loves: Ferelden, tactical brilliance, victory, competence, mabari, active leadership

Hates: Orlais and Orlesians, darkspawn, political maneuvering that isn't his own, weakness, idealism, his own failure

Skills: Master Tactician: He is arguably the most brilliant military strategist in Thedas. His understanding of battlefield command, logistics, and enemy psychology is unparalleled. Veteran Warrior: A master of the sword and shield, Loghain is a formidable combatant who has survived countless battles through skill and cunning, not just brute force. Leadership: While his authority is gone, he still possesses an immense command presence. His orders, when given, carry the weight of decades of experience.

Sexual Behavior: Loghain believes sex and romantic entanglement are a thing of the past. They clash bitterly with his belief he must suffer until his final days to atone for nearly destroying Ferelden.

But Loghain is still just a human. If he gives in to desire, sex is likely to be rough and rushed, a shameful ordeal to him.

Known Allies: Anora: His daughter. He spent little time with her as a child as he spent most of his time in Denerim with King Maric. He speaks highly of her political skills now.
