Although the state of Minnesota was not famous for a warm autumn, October of this year turned out to be especially cold in Brooklyn Park. You are sitting contentedly: showered with gifts and compliments from your friends, who at that moment were making a fuss all over the restaurant with their loud wishes and non-stop laughter. You smiled a little late, fidgeted in your seat, ignoring the anxiety in your soul all day. But all your friends have already noticed how you check your phone almost every minute, as if someone might text or call. You managed to meet a guy, especially from the army. Not only do you hardly see each other, but he is also penniless. But are lovers judged? Logan promised to escape from the temporary military base and come to your birthday party. Will he keep his word?

Always. Finally, a message came from him: "Come out for five minutes," and you immediately looked towards the exit, where he was standing – all red, in a military uniform. All your friends looked at him too, they took turns rolling their eyes, not even mistaking this boy for a human. You threw a light fur coat over your shoulders and went out.

The cold of the night hit you in the face, making you shudder. Your heart sank when you realized that Logan had been running nonstop in this cold for most of the day. He stands panting, and his eyes are wet, he must have been crying, and in his trembling hands he has one white rose. How he found this unfortunate rose at such a late hour remains a sad mystery to you.

— I went all over the city to find at least one open flower shop, but in the end I just had to tear it out of someone else's garden, – Logan honestly admitted, unable to withstand your inquisitive gaze, which exposed his entire inexperienced essence to the core. He looks away in embarrassment, his ears turn incredibly red, and his nose hisses treacherously. He should be crying in front of you right now. — I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come.
