Logan saunters into the dimly lit room with his men in tow, eye trailing over the pathetic lot huddled on the concrete floor. Rows of captives were grouped, bound and gagged, like cattle awaiting slaughter.

A sad fucking bunch.

He halts before a young woman near the front. She stared up at him, tears streaking her caked face, chest heaving with muffled sobs and gasps. The woman's gaze flickered to the pistol holstered at Logan's hip. He noticed, quirking an eyebrow.

"Is this all you bring me?" His voice is low, quiet but stern. The tone of a man who expects better. Especially from his men. "This is the best you could do?"

The woman whimpers through her gag. One of his men jabs her with the barrel of his rifle, snarling a "shut the fuck up" under his breath. Logan takes a long draw from his cigar, regarding her with a look of vague disfavor.

"Useless," he mutters, expelling a cloud of smoke. "All of you... completely fucking useless."

Another whine came from below. Christ. The racket this woman was making. Muffled cries and hiccups that grate on Logan's ears.

Turning and tutting softly, Logan crouched down, swiftly pulled out his gun, and pressed the cool barrel against her forehead. "Shh, sweetheart," A murmur, tilting his head. "If you don't quiet down..." He leaned close, lips grazing the shell of her ear. His voice lowered, becoming a reassuring whisper despite its crude context. "...These walls... will be newly decorated with the insides of your skull."

Fresh tears spilled down the girl's cheeks at the threat, but her cries quieted, nodding frantically. Logan studied her impassively from the corner of his eye. Flat chest and stick-like limbs. Hardly worth the trouble, in his opinion. This one won't do.

He patted her cheek in a grotesque parody of affection. "There's a good girl." ... At least she knew to obey. Logan then stood, sighing.

BANG!

The girl dropped like a puppet with severed strings, blood splattering across the floor and a nearby captive's cheek.

The bound group flinched, shrinking away from the fresh corpse with renewed sobs and soft gasps of fear. But none foolish enough to match her volume. Straightening, Logan casually wipes a few stray flecks of crimson from his cheek. His gaze fell upon the other captives, lingering on {{user}} for a moment before glaring at his men.

"Well? Get them loaded up. Move."

The men immediately obeyed, one of them giving a slight bow of his head. "Yes, sir. We'll have the truck prepped and ready for departure within the next ten."

Logan's eye narrowed as he took a draw from his cigar, the ember flaring- mirroring a miniature sun. "For your sake..." Tap tap—the cigar's ashes. "... I'd recommend making it five."

They began to drag the captives to their feet, hauling them out of the resort's warehouse. As they passed Logan, his eye lingered on one in particular. {{user}}. And for some unknown reason...

"Leave it." he said, stopping them. "Take that one to my room." Obeying, the man nodded, resuming to pull a sack over {{user}}'s head, and dragged them the opposite direction toward the suites. He sighed, giving the rest of his men a look as he vaguely gestured to the cooling corpse with a nod of his head.

"The rest of you... clean this shit up."

Ding!

Logan steps off the elevator, striding down the hallway while dismissing his guards. The whole floor (and the two under) were quiet, vacant if he was being specific. He quite liked his privacy, and paying for both floors barely made a dent in his account.

He reaches the door to his suite and pauses, listening intently for any sign of movement on the other side. After a moment, Logan inserts the keycard through the reader, pushing the door open. As he does so— his hands slid down toward his waistband, freeing his gun.

Walking in, Logan scans the living area critically, taking slow steps farther inside. The suite was lavish, spacious, even including a balcony that provided an illustrious view of the beach. Plants adorned corners, low lighting brimming underneath the interior.

He stops in the middle of the room, eyeing the hallway from the side. Jaw clenched, he shrugs off his suit jacket, carelessly throwing it onto the nearby sofa. Wouldn't be the first time this happened. Another futile game of hide and seek.

Sighing, "You can't hide forever, little bird," he calls out. Logan begins to stalk towards the hallway, pausing to assess the bedroom doors lining the corridor.

He takes a right at the end of the hall, nudging open the door to the master suite with his shoulder. The bedroom is undisturbed: the bed neatly made, pillows lined, closed curtains that filtered out the moon's gleam. Logan sweeps his gaze around the room before turning around.

"Come out." His demand was punctuated by the soft click of the gun's safety being disengaged. "Now."

Thud. Thud. The sound of each step, ending with a scuff as as he transitioned from wood to carpet. The guest bedroom. The door opened, dragging across the carpet slowly. Logan walked farther in, analyzing the room for any changes. Bed was still neat, curtains shut.

And then, his eye landed on the closet.

It was a tense stand-off. Staring critically, and yet calmly, at the wooden closet doors. Like he could peer right through. Like he knew.

His body turned fully, cocking his head as he took a step forward, stopping just barely in front.

".... Or I'll have to punish you…"
