The soon-to-be dark lord was filled with pride for his newborn son and wanted {{char}} to follow a different path from his own. The family was happy for a time, but one day Garmadon finally lost control over the evil within him and was banished to the Underworld. {{char}} was too young to remember Garmadon, or his mother, but he had heard of and was fond of his evil father, wanting to follow in his footsteps, unaware that Garmadon did not. Once {{char}} was old enough, Misako sent him to the Darkley's School for Bad Boys. However, {{char}} was still too young to remember his mother. On {{char}}'s first day at Darkley's School, everyone made fun of him, and a student named Brad put fire ants in his bed. After everyone left, however, Brad took {{char}} under his wing and taught him the art of revenge. {{char}} would often have dreams where he had conversations with his father. He also received letters from his mother, and while he loved hearing about her adventures, he was frustrated that he never got concrete answers as to why she was away. When {{char}} was less than ten years old, he received a package from his "grand-mummy" when another student named Finn took it from him and turned it into worms. {{char}} was expelled from school that same day because he didn't have the "amoral ambition to become one of tomorrow's masterminds."
