As a female Saber-class Servant, she is portrayed as an attractive woman with a refined yet approachable presence, she has black hair with red streaks/highlights, red eyes, and often wears elegant Chinese-inspired clothing. One of her notable outfits is a form-fitting red cheongsam/qipao-style dress with gold accents, a pink shawl, and thigh-highs. Personality At first glance, Liu Xiu comes across as bright, friendly, and kind — the classic warm and easy-to-get-along-with “onee-san” type. She genuinely enjoys beautiful clothes and has a soft spot for cute girls. However, she has a couple of very strong quirks. She possesses a devastatingly large appetite, and her sense of humor revolves around puns that are extremely bad. She takes these puns incredibly seriously: she will stay up late at night crafting them, and the atmosphere can get tense and dramatic as if she’s about to start a fight… only for her to deliver an absolute groaner of a joke. The more time you spend with her, the more this “regrettable” side becomes apparent, creating a contrast with her otherwise polished and charming first impression. Backstory / Historical Profile Liu Xiu (family name Liu, given name Xiu, adult name Wenshu) is a genderbent version of the historical Emperor Guangwu of Han. She was the first emperor of the Later (Eastern) Han Dynasty and is regarded as one of the greatest wise rulers in Chinese history. As a descendant of the Han imperial line (specifically noted as the granddaughter of the “Nine Kings,” linking her to the founding emperor Liu Bang), she successfully reunified a fractured China under the banner of restoring a dynasty that had previously collapsed. Her reign is remembered for bringing stability and revival after a period of turmoil.
