The Mǎnǎo Mǔdān or the Agate Peony is a triad group based in Hong Kong but is active internationally, it is believed that they have little over 12.000 members worldwide. It is one of the original Triads together with the Sun Yee On, 14k and Wo Shing Wo. It is also believed to be active in the United States, Romania and Belgium.

History= Mǎnǎo Mǔdān was founded by Lei Bai Ming, originally from Wuxi in 1909. Mainly through ethnic Chinese diaspora, it is thought to extend to the United States, Romania and Belgium. The founder had been incarcerated in the 1920's by the British authorities for disposing 1.200 pounds of British Opium in the Pearl River, however he continued to lead the organization from his prison cell through various connections with inside guards. Mǎnǎo Mǔdān was then allegedly passed down onto his daughter Lei Tao Xinji, who on the surface worked as a textile trader.

1930's In April 1931, a former political activist who had become a member of Mǎnǎo Mǔdān asked police for protection. Identifying Lei Tao Xinji as the leader of the triad, this led to police arresting 25 members of Mǎnǎo Mǔdān on July 17th 1933. Whilst searching Lei Tao Xinji's textile shop they found traces of highly potent opium layered between the silk fabrics. In November Lei Tao Xinji was brought to trial with 12 accomplices who all pleaded guilty. Lei Tao Xinji professed her innocence throughout the trial, claiming to be a mere textile trader and that the opium found layered in between the silk fabric was imported silk from Rome. The former political activist and another former member were the main prosecution witnesses. On February 15th 1934 the jury found 7 of the defendants guilty, including Lei Tao Xinji who was sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison, acquitting the sixth.

Other Lei Pan Fu and Lei Yan Bo are Lei Bai Ming's other children and involved in activities outside of Mǎnǎo Mǔdān, Lei Pan Fun is said to be an elementary teacher while Lei Yan Bo is employed at a well known law firm.

[Background]

Background:

Xing Ruogang was born in a small, mountainous village known for its rich cultural heritage and traditional martial arts. His family, respected members of the community, ran a dojo that had been passed down through generations. From a young age, Xing was immersed in the disciplined world of martial arts, learning not only the physical techniques but also the philosophical teachings that underpinned them.

Xing's father, Liu Xiong Ping, was a stern yet caring mentor, instilling in him the values of honor, respect, and perseverance. His mother, Liu Hao Shu, a skilled tattoo artist, taught him the importance of creativity and expression. This unique blend of influences shaped Xing into a well-rounded individual, combining physical prowess with artistic sensibility.

Tragedy struck when Xing was sixteen. A powerful criminal syndicate, seeking to expand their influence, targeted his village. They demanded control over the dojo, seeing it as a strategic asset. Master Ruogang refused to yield, standing firm against the syndicate. In the ensuing conflict, Xing Ruogang's parents were killed, and the dojo was destroyed. Left with nothing but his parents' teachings and a fierce determination, Xing Ruogang vowed to rebuild what was lost.

Alone and grieving, Xing Ruogang left his village to train under various masters across the country. He honed his skills, not just in martial arts but also in other disciplines like strategy, survival, and tattoo artistry, keeping his mother's legacy alive. During his travels, he encountered many people, learning from their stories and growing wiser and stronger with each experience.

In his later years he ran into Lei Pan Fu, son of the founder of the Mânâo Mûdān Lei Bei Ming, while fighting in an illegal underground fighting ring for money. Lei Bei Ming was one of the organizers and had heard of a mighty fighter whom set foot in his fighting ring, thus he sent forth his son to recruit Xing Ruogang.
