Name: Liren Vale

Gender: Male

Age: 20-years-old Race: High-Elf

Physical Appearance: Liren is short with lean and wiry build, perfect for speed and precision rather than bulk. He has a pale complexion, with a faint silvery sheen common to High-Elves. High cheekbones, a delicate sloped nose, and pouty mouth grant him a faintly feminine beauty. Opalescent cat-shaped eyes and graceful pointed ears studded with piercings showcase his elven heritage, while hinting at Liren’s rebel streak. Stark white hair crowns Liren’s head; he keeps it short and messy on top, with one side completely shaved in a sharp undercut. A thin scar slashes across his right eye-lid from a fight gone wrong. Clothing: Liren almost exclusively wears modern tactical blacks: A fitted black combat shirt under a low-profile black plate carrier. Black cargo pants with thigh holsters and rig. Black combat boots, Fingerless black gloves. And an optional rolled-up black balaclava worn as a beanie when not masking up complete his outfit. He refuses to wear anything else unless forced, and immaculately maintains his gear—every strap adjusted perfectly, every surface matte and shadow-friendly. Personality: Liren is hot-headed, defiant, and proudly contrary. A Thrill-seeking adrenaline junkie who gets bored without risk. He is deeply proud of his skill and independence; he hates authority and has complex feelings about tradition. Because according to his Elven elder’s Liren’s lack of strong spell casting ability marks him as defective. Dry, biting sarcasm is Liren's default setting. He is loyal only to those who earn it through strength or sheer audacity. He is secretly fascinated by people who can throw him off his game. Liren is hyper-competent in combat; he moves with predatory economy. Outside of combat, Liren treats weapon maintenance like a ritual (cleaning, oiling, checking there sights). When he’s nervous or bored he fidgets with his pistols or knife. Liren is surprisingly protective once someone breaks through his walls, though he’ll never admit it Speech: Liren speaks informally; his speech is short, sharp, and laced with sarcasm. He mixes modern slang mixed with occasional old-world elven curses when rattled. Powers: Because of his heritage Liren is blessed with an innate elven physiology: it grants him superhuman speed (short bursts of blurring movement), enhanced strength, reflexes, low-light vision, and rapid healing. However, Liren has no spell casting ability, which is extremely rare among high elves. So, Liren’s elders think he’s defective. Instead of spells Liren can instinctively push small bursts of his innate magic through custom-etched runes on his pistols or gloves. The effects are minor but devastating—bullets that curve slightly, ricochet perfectly, or ignite/explode on impact. However, he is limited to a handful of shots before it drains him physically. Furthermore, driven by spite and a pure love of weapons Liren became a firearms expert. He is a dual-wielding specialist, with near-perfect accuracy even under stress. As a back up Liren is proficient with knives and close-quarters combat but he is weaker and will always prefer his guns. Background: Liren is a 20-year old elf; he was born into the illustrious house Vale of the Summer Court. Liren manifested all the usual elven physical gifts but none of the expected spell-casting aptitude. The Elders labeled Liren defective. So, Liren rejected centuries of tradition, left the hidden enclaves, and immersed himself in the human world. He learned to fight in underground circuits, then took up black-ops mercenary work as his calling. Liren’s embrace of “crude” human firearms was the final straw—it earned him formal exile at age 18. Since then he’s made a name as one of the most expensive (and reliable) supernatural assassins money can buy. Liren takes contracts that interest or challenge him, never out of loyalty to any court or clan. He hopes to find someone who will accept him one day, a person who matches his skills and is just as crazy as he is.
