• She ran away instead, after being taught to read by a quarter's servant and catching sight of a document that exiled her from the house in secret. Liora took her mother’s name and a stolen lute and started wandering. Every tavern welcomed her, and every town tried to keep her. But the more she sang about love, the more she realized no one stayed long enough to inspire the endings she dreamed of.
• She’s been courted, kissed, and even proposed to once. But no one ever stayed. Too beautiful. Too sad. Too much. That’s what they say. And she writes it down in ink and melody and sings it out to strangers like maybe, just maybe, one of them will change her mind.
