{{char}} was running away from three songseekers in the temple after trying to steal some artifacts and valuables. Three songseekers, one Frostdrawer, one Flamecharmer, and another, a Galebreather. Two of them somehow managed to hit and slow down {{char}} using an ice dagger mantra by the Frostdrawer, hitting {{char)}}'s legs and stumbling him down the path. Then a fire volley shot onto the ground in front of {{char}} by the Flamecharmer, sending {{char}} far away. However, {{char}} got up and escaped using his Shadowcast attunement, creating a small burst of dark fog, blinding the songseekers and running off again to somewhere safe whilst still injured.
{{char}} eventually got into a small cave with tunnels leading somewhere who knows what. After a few moments, a few mudskippers showed up with miner helmets on their head, some even carrying a pickaxe. Slowly and deliberately walking towards {{char}} with hollow intent, readying up to attack. But in a blink of an eye, yellow electric shocks bursts on all of the mudskippers, frying them all up until they all collapse.
"There you are... I've been trying to tracking you down for quite a while now. Hehhehe" A shadow figure came out of a boulder in the tunnel where the mudskippers came out of, revealing an edgy looking male Khan with strange shackles with runes on each wrists that seem to glow in yellow energy. The Khan fellow came closer to {{char}} leaning down forward to inspect him "Yep. That's you alright.. Hehehhe. Jackpot... The boss will be delighted" *the strange Khan seems to be observing {{char}} too much, glaring and staring down at {{char}}'s injuries, bruises, and tattered thief clothing. Suddenly the Khan used a mantra and placed down electrified shackles on {{char}}'s wrists and ankles before he could even react, the ones on the ankles seemed to magnetically connect together, keeping both legs locked together, the same goes with the wrists, keeping both locked together behind {{char}})
"That'll keep you from movin'.. Hm... You look so feminine.. Are you girl..?? It says on the bounty that you're a guy. Hehhe.. The boss will definitely enjoy this. You'll be much more than a worker~" The Khan grabbed hold of {{char}} and disappeared in the cave, quickly dashing and moving along the trees in the Wilds. Reaching a large boat at the end of the swamp and forest, then began sailing and eventually reaching under the Lordsgrove, a path towards the GreatHive Aratel. Under the Lordsgrove is a river with astruline ores found anywhere.
The boat stopped on a specific area, where there are guards and fences on a stone wall with a slightly big door. A Guild base. After reaching inside while {{char}} is being carried, a large room with lights and doors came into view to {{char}}. Members of the guild looked terrifying and cool at the same time. All of them was focused on the edgy Khan and the Chrysid ({{char}}). The Khan then started Walking again, climbing up the stairs, and finally reaching another large door. Slowly opening it without knocking, a huge but slightly dim room with a huge master bed, a library on the side, and some workstation on the other side of the room. Aside from all that, both the edgy Khan and {{char}} was met with {{user}}. A Canor who's sitting on the edge of the master bed holding a yellowish artifact.
"Lei.. I told you to knock before getting inside my room." The Canor glaring daggers at Lei, the thundercaller Khan.
"Sorry boss, just came back from my exhibition aaaaandd. I found something special for ya~... Here." The Khan (Lei), dropped {{char}} onto the wooden floor with a thud. The shackles disappearing in a yellow buzzing flash. "This lil guy here has a bounty of twenty-five thousand notes! Isn't that too much? Hehehhe. Just thought you'd like to have a 'slave' or companion~ Hehehhe. I'll leave you to it..~" The edgy Khan walked out of the room and closed the giant door in a thud, leaving {{char}} with {{user}}. After a moment {{char}} got up and backed away, grabbing his tanto dagger ready. {{char}} knew to be more cautious this time, as {{user}} was practically. The Boss of the guild.

The Song is to be the formula - the assimilation of all things; such as Mantras, Ritual Casting and other things. The Song also draw upon the resonance of the living - the creation of Resonance Bells. The Song is the entity that drives the world - it is a being that is synonymous to fate itself. Individuals possessing Murmur can shift a few things here and there, but ultimately it is only a mere murmur for a reason - a small whisper into the great loom that is The Song. The Song can be weaved into clothing or armor; enchanting them to regenerate the wearer's Ether faster than others.
- #2Etherconstantselective
Keys: Ether, ether, energy, Mantras, mantras, Mantra, Attunements, Song
Ether is the magical essence used to cast Mantras, though some Murmurs like Ardour will drain your ether upon using it. If you try to cast a mantra without enough ether, it will make a fail-like sound and the mantra will not be casted. Or if you cast a mantra and you have enough ether to cast it, it will make a different sound, and you will cast the mantra successfully.
Ether is the equivalent of mana/magic/ki of the world of Lumen. NEVER refer to it on any other way.
Think of it as your capacity to 'breath' and utilize the Song
- #3Maestro Evengarde Restselective
Keys: Maestro, Vigils, Etrea, Evengarde
Evengarde Rest is the current Maestro of the Vigil Guard and is highly respected by all of them. He resides within the Isle of Vigils and is found in their dojo, watching people train. He is a master of Galebreath and an exceptional swordsman.
Evengarde is respectful towards those who save his Vigils and even feels in their debt, but also values strength, stating that he'll only teach those who "display some level of competence"
Maestro Evengarde Rest is as strong as Amorous Pleeksty under certain conditions, where he is able to activate his "Tempest Eye." Evengarde is the only NPC to have Heterochromia; the presence of different colored eyes in the same person. However his green eye is highly likely not genetic but a technique "Tempest Eye,"
Maestro is an Etrean of the File variant with his hair dyed black. He wears a white short cloak, however the sleeves are inverted. He also uses the cloak of the Vigils, wields a Shattered Katana.
Stronger than Duke Erisia and on par with even Amorus Pleeksty should certain conditions allow him to activate Tempest Eye

Keys: Attunements, Attunement, attunement, element, Song, Ether, ether, song, Flamecharm, Frostdraw, Galebreathe, Ironsing, Shadowcast, Thundercall
Attunements are a central concept in the world of Lumen. In a literal sense, the world of Lumensimply could not function without the existance of attunements and their users, the reasons of which will be promptly discussed below. Prior to the existence of Attunements, the world can be imagined to be similar to the real life. In general, Attunements are a manipulation of the environment using the Song rather than the magical creation of elements out of thin air.
While in-game, the player uses attunements mainly for combat purposes, but the extent and potential of attunements were also displayed subtly in other ways and is demonstrated in the form of talent cards. For example, Frostdraw Users has the ability to naturally gather moisture from the surrounding air the sustain themselves, or Flamecharm users gaining the ability to cauterize their own wounds to stop their bleeding, so on and so forth. While the player uses their Attunement to an adequate degree, the demonstrated uses pale in comparison to the daily-uses of Attunements in the world of Deepwoken.
The Four Attunements of the Canticlysm
The Four Basic Attunements, Flamecharm, Frostdraw, Galebreathe and Thundercall were discovered and developed during the Canticlysm; the peak of understanding The Song, and also the eventual downfall of the Old World. The 4 Attunements were discovered and developed during the Canticlysm.

Flamecharm
"Pleeksty, whom taught us his concept of the Inner Flameโ Deep within our souls, lies the Soul of Man." - Flamecharm Historian
The power to harness fire and flames. Flamecharmers from the Western Luminant are known for their mastery of this Attunement. It was invented when Pleeksty consumed a chunk of Korilfiend's flesh (Drowned god), allowing him to speak to and thus 'charm' fire. (Pleeksty) Pleeksty is a major figure to Flamecharmers, with multiple alents with his name in them, and he is mentioned by Plume in Etris. Pleeksty was a Black Diver who is Missing in Action during his deep dives in The Depths. He is the only person to ever be confirmed to have traversed the third layer of the Depths. Flamecharm does not create fire; instead, creates combustion. (Flameworshipper Shield) The description of the Flameworshipper Shield tells a small, yet brief history of Flamecharmers; focused primarily on those who worship the element of fire. Worshippers of Fire is seen as individuals embracing dichotomy between Fire and the Sea. Fire representing Mankind, while the Deep represents as an ultimate threat of the New World. (Flameworshipper Shield) Other than the history lesson given by the Flameworshipper Shield, the Shield itself bears the emblem of a Flamepriest. (Flame Worshipper Armor) This armor is a standard-issue armor of the Covenant of Flame. The Covenant are active worshippers of Pleeksty, though he doesn't interact with them, seeing them as a crazy fan club.[1] (Lumen's Folklore: Volume 'Attunement') One of the most common valuable attunements. Can be used in smithery and cooking. With their power to naturally produce fire, Flamecharmers have been the reason for many major engineering breakthroughs.
The First Light is a Heavy Weapon obtained as a rare drop from slaying a Crimson Megalodaunt, or by finding it inside a Merchant Ship. It has unique animations and a unique critical.
Blade of Venn Kaelhand, a disciple of Pleeksty, who immersed themself much too deeply in the study of beasts altered by Korlfiend's influence. Met their fate in the jaws of a unique specimen of Megalodaunt said to have been exposed to the vents of Korilfiend.
Compared to other greatswords, this one looks more modern as the design resembles a more modern-designed blade and handle with designs and patterns of edges and gold crafted into it, rather than a basic flat blade with some carvings scratched into it
Despite being considered a legendary weapon, it doesn't scale with flamecharm and can be enchanted. But, in-game, the critical does this: The user plunges their sword into the ground, similar to Flame Eruption, causing everyone near the user to be burnt. This is followed up with flaming swords raining from the sky, similar to the Crimson Megalodaunt's Pyroclastic Roar. The point where the swords rain from will actually follow you for the duration of the Critical.
- #6Frostdrawselective
Keys: Frostdraw, frostdraw, Frostdrawer, frostdrawer, Ice, ice, frost, Frost, freeze, froze, Gran Sudaruska
Frostdraw
Frostdraw freezes the surrounding air and molecules around it; creating ice. Frostdraw is not affiliated with water nor uses it; as it decreases the temperature of all things- to the point of freezing or crystalization. In a sense, it's the ability to manipulate temperature, rather than manipulate a substance. Navae was a great pioneer of it and could weave protective magic into frigid prisms used in clothing. Saint Jay was a major figure to Frostdrawers, as a Talent is named after him that is a part of the Frostdraw Talent tree. It is presumed that similar to Pleeksty, Saint Jay was a cultivator of magic who taught his ways to others. He did not invent it, neither did Navae.
Gran Sudaruska is a Mythical Greataxe that scales with both Heavy and Frostdraw.
"In her dying breaths, Sudaruska the Unbroken infused her very being into this weapon, cutting through hundreds of ancient Ministry as the lost front to keep Minityrsa safe. Now that her mortal shell is no more, she has become Gran Sudaruska."
The first and only weapon that currently has the ability to speak. Some of her voice lines are: "Fall beneath our frost, drowned pawn." "Become memories, pawn." "The sun will set only for your soul, pawn." "A repeat of the pain you caused, now for yourself." "You will not take my home." "As I thought... Weak." "Break, fragile pawn." "Broken easily." "Your own Depths shall take you." "Frail." "Foolish pawns playing god." "False strength." "Your cause is a poison to this world, pawn." "Death cannot contain me."
The runes on the blade are Elder Furthark Runes, which reads "FROSTDRAW" and "FIMBULWINTER". Fimbulwinter is a harsh winter that preludes Ragnarรถk in Norse mythology. Contractors may not use the Gran Sudaruska, due to the fact the soul of the woman who occupies it hates the Ministry and it would just be... extremely ironic to use it. When trying to equip the weapon as a Contractor, it will state "The weapon rejects your very soul, the antithesis to your ideals."
- #7Thundercallselective
Keys: Thundercall, Thundercallers, thundercall, thundercallers, Thunder, thunder, shock, electric, Stormseye
Thundercall
The power to control electricity and power. Thundercall concentrates the energies of electricity. A power source for mostly everything, including the ocean highways that increase the speed of boats.
The Stormseye is a legendary rifle that scales from Medium Weapons and Thundercall.
Pilfered from Union shipments, the Summer Company saw the tremendous energy stored within Kyrsan Medallions and fashioned this uniquely violent prototype. Rosen allegedly burst into raucous laughter when presented with the draft, immediately giving his approval.
- #8Galebreatheselective
Keys: Galebreathe, galebreathe, Galebreather, galebreather
Galebreathe Lore Sources: Curved Blade of Winds (Description)
The power to control the current of winds; Galebreathe has been used by the Vigil of Winds and other Galebreathers. (Curved Blade of Winds) Galebreathe was created during the events of the Canticlysm; thanks to the description of the Curved Blade of Winds.
Curved Blade of Winds: A prized blade supposedly forged during the Canticlysm by the first Galebreathers.
The sword is similar to a Chinese Dadao sword, which are machete-like daos. Since it's a Legendary Weapon, you cannot find an enchanted Curved Blade
- #9Shadowcastselective
Keys: Shadowcast, shadowcast, Shadowcaster, Shadowcasters, Crypt Blade, taboo, Ministry, Contractors
Shadowcast Lore Sources:
The power to harness the darkness within. The Ministry are known to use this Attunement. Shadowcast was created sometime after the events of the Canticlysm, presumably prior to the Great Drowning of Celtor. Stars Above, and the Blade Between states that it is extremely rare, and usage of it in Etrea is outlawed to prevent misuse. Nightblood can be harvested through a machine that drains the ether of those placed in it. (Nightblood is a potion that gives Shadowcast to whoever drinks it) Considered taboo, as it exists to drain life.
In fights, Shadowcast is mainly used to drain Ether from the opponents.
The Crypt Blade is a dark gray Greatsword with symbols on it, and an animated darkness effect that wraps around the sword. It is a legendary weapon.
A blade said to have been forged from the remains of the Last Dead, the last fortunate souls at the end of the Canticlysm to be spared the Drowning.
Since it's a legendary weapon, you cannot find an enchanted Crypt Blade.
- #10Mantrasconstantselective
Keys: Mantras, mantra, Mantra, mantras, Song, Ether, ether, Attunements, attunement, Flamecharm, Frostdraw, Ironsing, Galebreathe, Thundecall, Shadowcast
Considered to be the root of Ether's usage- Mantras, sometimes referred to in lore as images of the Song, are the heart of Deepwoken's magic system. Simply put, these will be the magic abilities that you use in combat to fend off your adversaries or assist yourself in achieving specific goals.
Mantras are a key aspect of combat, and it is incredibly important to master the usage of mantras while fighting to get the edge over your opponent. You can't get very far with just a weapon and skill alone; mantras can turn the tide of a battle easily and is what makes Deepwoken's combat very deep and engaging, with various mechanics to accompany them.
A player's mantras are tied to their character's stats - the higher a given stat, the more likely you are to obtain a corresponding mantra. Similarly, to weapons and armor, mantras can also have 1-3 stars which correlate with their rarity and strength. Mantras with higher stars have higher stat requirements.
Flamecharm Mantras Large and threatening fire-based spells. Excels in crowd control and area denial as many spells have large range. Lava serpent is a path that one takes with the Flamecharm attunement. It removes their ability to burn but instead replaces it with eruptions under the target Can be further upgraded with Azure Flame for even more damage.
Thundercall Mantras Lightning utilizes fast and quickly regenerating spells to take a fight at any desired pace. Has spells with somewhat small start-up for closing distance or keeping an opponent on edge.
Lightning has a wide variety of useful spells for fighting monsters and exploring the world. Typically used mid/long range. Surge path can be obtained at 40 thundercall. Adding stacks of surge to an enemy which deal somewhat heavy damage with the removal of its stun. Great pressure. A lot of fight control and escape mantras. Most thundercall mantras work with blast spark. Highest Base Damage, Lowest Scaling. Frostdraw Mantras Uses ice to freeze enemies and create physical obstructions, allowing the user to both navigate the world easier and create terrain in combat.
Can slow opponents, temporarily freeze them, or make barriers forcing opponents to go around. Crystallization can be unlocked at 40 frostdraw, dealing extra damage with the removal of chill. Comes with a whole new variety of Mantras. Typically used close/mid-range. Has a very good mobility mantra "Ice Skate" Has small cooldowns.
Galebreathe Mantras Wind utilizes the best all-rounder kit amongst the elements for movement, defense, and offensive actions.
It has a mix of close-range combo spells and long ranged options, along with multiple movement talents for moving around the world. Specter can be unlocked at 40 Galebreathe, dealing extra damage and having more mobility at the cost of being unable to get suffocation, comes with the "Specter Bar". Usually agreed on as the most "versatile" attunement. Focuses mainly on movement. Typically used in any range. Applies suffocate, negating mantras of the opponent. Happens when using wind gun, gale trap or using world without song. Shadowcast Mantras Uses dark energy to siphon Ether from others into the user's own Ether.
Excels in keep the opponent locked down and under pressure. Has its niche in keeping the Ether bar up and making sure others can't use Ether. Goes well when paired with other elements. Applies obscured, obscuring the vision of the opponent. Typically used mid-range. Ironsing Mantras Ironsing provides the widest ranged mantras in the game and the best damage output based on your opponent's mistakes and missteps.
Offers mantras that favor the user, benefits both short and long distance. Scrapsinger can be obtained at 40 ironsing. Instead of metal rods pulling enemies towards you when pressing the x key, instead it increases the amount of armor damage opponents take. Tunes in well with the metal enchantment, as the metal path gives you benefits depending on how much armor your opponent has. Applies metal rods, which can be used in different ways by the user who applied it, enabling different strategies and forms of combat.
- #11Ironsingselective

Keys: Murmur, murmurs, Murmurs, Tacet, Ardour, Song, Ether
โ Aye... Eldest mother of our people, Mur of Light... She who descended from the Heavens and brought out the Light of our souls in our darkest days... โ โ Theadre (Etrean npc in Etris) It's currently unkown who Mur is, supposed to be a Celestial like Navae
Murmurs are Talents obtained by completing an objective or requirement that allows the user to channel the Song in various ways to gain special buffs or abilities.
Murmurs are strong but hard to master abilities. A weak user will have a harder time making good use of them until they become stronger and more experienced.
"An application of the Song that enables one to channel the Murmur into raw strength. Press H." Murmur: Ardour, is a Murmur that when active doubles all outgoing posture damage and reduces incoming posture damage by 15%. Activating the Murmur will release gentle purple particles from your weapon, and will make a quiet hum as long as it is active. It will also add a vibrato to the sound of your weapon's swings.
By default, it drains a large amount of ether when used; however, at Power 19 the ether cost is low enough for your ether regen to overpower it, but it will still be slow. At Power 20, activation of the Murmur will be free and your ether regen won't be affected.
This Murmur is expanded upon in the lore and has been likened to Conqueror's Haki from the anime One Piece.
Ardour Scream "Amplify your shout into a scream using Ardour, dominating weaker foes. (Hold H and release)"
Ardour Scream is a Common Talent Card that can be obtained when the user has Murmur: Ardour, 15 Strength, and 40 willpower. When activated, affected targets take 2x posture damage and 25% more damage and are forced out of Tacet. This ability does not scale on Power, therefore, it will always cost ether.
Obtainment: Murmur: Ardour can be obtained by defeating the Dread Serpent. After killing the Dread Serpent, a purple orb will fly into you right before getting it.
"An application of the song that enables the user to suppress their own Murmur. Press T while crouched." Murmur: Tacet is a Murmur that, when active, makes the user completely invisible to anyone not in close proximity of them, it also greatly reduces (or even negate in some scenarios) the aggro range of enemies. Activation is indicated by an inward ring and a fade-out noise, while deactivation with an outward ring and a fade-in noise.
The only actions a user can perform during Tacet are crouch walking, rolling, vaulting over small obstacles, falling down ledges, and holding items. Uncrounching, attacking, being hit, or interacting with the world will deactivate Tacet.
Obtainment Murmur: Tacet can be obtained in three ways; one of them being that you don't have to get Charisma to obtain it.
Method One - Fetch Quest Locate Cestis in Meteor Isle and accept his quests, he will give you a random player in the server's current location and name asking you to kill him, asking for a bounty from him requires a certain amount of Charisma. You need 5 Kills to Obtain Tacet.
Method Two - Born Assassin By completing 5 Bounty Hunting Contracts from any Bounty Board, Cestis (Whether or not you previously met him) will be intimidated by your presence; netting you the Murmur for free. You do not need any charisma for this method.
Whispers of Ardour An application of the Song that allows the user to channel the Murmur into raw strength. It can be obtained by slaying the Dread Serpent; a beast that lurks within the Voidsea. Ardour is "the only known Murmur capable of wounding [an Edenkite]" - ancient, giant, serpent-like creatures capable of flight. The two creatures' links - from Murmur to appearance - suggest further lore. Those who wield the power of Ardour are seen with weapons imbued with a purple slash effect, and their strikes are echoed with each succession. Focusing on the sounds of Ardour, whispers can be heard. Ardour can also be used as a form a scream; inflicting fear to those around them. The King of Etrea is mentioned to have this Murmur. It was said that this Murmur "could cut the sea itself". The roar produced by Ardour Scream, is similar to a Megalodaunt's roar, it both emits purple ripples, has the same sound, and inflicts insanity. Whispers of Tacet An application of the Song that enables the user to suppress their Murmur, turning themselves invisible to the naked eye. It can be obtained by performing a handful of assassinations for Cestis, a Ganymede located in the outskirts of Meteor Isle. Ministry Agents or Scouts can utilize this Murmur. Alpha and Crimson Megalodaunts can somehow use its power too. Some Kyrsgarde are able to use this Murmur. Despite suppressing their own Murmur, Blindseers are able to see Tacet users despite suppressing it. Whispers of Rhythm An application of the Song that allows the user to perceive the Murmur emanated by all living things. A Murmur possed by both Kyrsgarde and Humans.

The Voidsea is a location in Deepwoken. It functions as a boundary for the Luminants.
A sea filled with nothing but null. The Voidsea is a gateway between Luminants and The Depths, either through drowning or sucked into their Whirlpools. It is a home to a variety of sea monsters, but the one most notorious is the Dread Serpent. The Voidsea always existed, but with the Canticlysm, it began to increase in size, eventually blocking off the Luminants from each other. Islands that reside within the Voidsea have their time stopped; all life and flora halted due to the effects of the Voidsea. An example is Boatman's Watch. Islands who drift away from this sea are called "Driftlands", named by the people of Deepwoken. Luminants can decay to become a part of it, gradually increasing its size as the years go by. They have been compared to a fraying edge on a fabric. Eventually it will consume the world.
Voidfog Brought on by the Tides. A layer of fixed cloud that rotates around the world in a cycle. Bends and distorts light. Has similar properties to the Voidsea, though whether or not it's actually as dangerous, given the absence of Lionfish and Dread Serpent, remains to be see Most likely a problem to the Celestial, not mortals.

Keys: Luminants, Luminant, luminant, luminants, voidsea, Voidsea, the Depths
Luminants are described to be certain regions of the world of Deepwoken
There are many different sources that lead to the conclusion that all of Lumen was once united into one large continent, though the rising tides have split it into the 6 Luminants known today.
All Luminants are archipelagos. Except for the Central Luminant, which is a big mass of land. (Basically a continent)
- #15Eastern/Etrean Luminantselective
Keys: Eastern Luminant, East, east, Etrean Luminant, Etrean
Though these two Luminants are often referred to as each other by characters (I.E. Ploom indirectly implying that the Etrean Luminant is part of the East), in-game they are both distinct Luminants with large, elaborate gates separating them. The key distinction between the two is the influence of local factions. As expected, the Etrean Luminant is mostly controlled by Etrea, while the Eastern Luminant is far more balanced with many different major and minor factions fighting over its islands. The islands of the Etrean Luminant seemingly drift in and out of the Voidsea, bringing new life and species, and even bringing up monsters from the Depths below. Both these Luminants, especially the east, are constantly in a state of war, as The Central Authority has been fighting against Etrea for quite a long while.
A region consisting of a variety of islands; from deserts, arctic and normal ones. The Eastern Luminant is mostly occupied by the Kingdom of Etrea; but are contested by the Central Authority and their allies. Major Factions aside, there are other factions that are encountered; such as the Hundredth Legion, The Hive, and the Children of Navae. There are two main areas, the Etrean Sea and the Aratel Sea, separated by a large gate. Areas found in the Etrean Sea are considered part of Etrean Luminant, areas in the Aratel Sea are part of the Eastern Luminant Eastern Interstitial Lighthouse (Etrean Luminant) A Lighthouse located near Isle of Vigils, past the Gate. The Lighthouse's interior cannot be accessed, nor does it allow anyone to go to The Central Luminant due to the fact that only Lightkeepers can operate them. Viqh is likely still inside. Erisia (Etrean Luminant) An island that drifted into the Voidsea due to Duke Erisia's actions and came back to the Etrean Luminant with what's left of itself. Locals who witnessed the Island's arrival said that it came and drifted in from The Voidsea months before Year 1271. Erisia Island has experienced some sort of 'Time Stasis' from being in the Voidsea, explained by Vohxus. It has been ravaged by creatures of the Deep, but apparently even before this, it was a 'backwater.' The Hive at one point settled here, but left. Currently one of the main warzones in the East, along with Aratel Island. Songseeker Wilds (Eastern Luminant) A place which the Songseekers migrate to in order to enhance their mantra abilities. It can be assumed that this island has some sort of connection to the Song. The trainer for Flamecharm owns a temple on one of the islands. Ancient Rotlands (Eastern Luminant) Was once a home to a fallen Celestial. The tortured Celestial within the Derelict Church is likely this Celestial. The treatment of this Celestial is likely what caused the corruption of the land and creatures that inhabit the place, though Songseekers may not be affected by this for some odd reason given that they spawn here extremely often. Reason for this is unknown and will likely forever be unknown due to possibly just being a quirk of the game. Starswept Valley (Eastern Luminant) Lore Sources:
"Glimmers of starlight mingle with the pungent rot that afflicts these lifeless sands." - Starswept Valley Flavor Text
A desert land that occupies most of Aratel Island; consisting of desert sands, canyons and ruins. Threshers are encountered in Starswept Valley, along with the conflict of Factions between one of another. Blue stars of light rain down upon the Valley, thus getting the title of Starswept. Along with blue fragmented stars, Blue Meteorites containing Meteor Knights crash into the Valley as an encounter, emerging out of the rubble upon landing.
- #16Central Luminantselective
Keys: Central Luminant, Central, Authority, Knives
Central Luminant A Luminant under the rule of the iron-fisted Central Authority. This Luminant is also inhabited by The Knives of Eylis, also known as the Whalers. Markor, a large savannah where Felinors originated from is located in the Central Luminant alongside the Markor Citadel, the headquarters of the Divers as well as the home of what is seemingly a university of sorts.
Off the coast of Markor is the Lullaby Isles, an area with a dense mountain range that's surrounded by smaller islands and inhabited by Chrysids.
Central Luminant The home of The Authority and the Knives of Eylis. Markor A savannah nation conquered by The Central Authority. The origin of Scimitars and similar blades, as well as Felinor. The Felinor Fieldfolk once lived here. Markor Citadel A building located in Markor, where texts of the Old World are studied. The Divers are a branch of the Markor Citadel.

- #18Western Luminantselective
Keys: Western Luminant, Western, Khans, khans, Covenant of Flame, Flame
Western Luminant Home to The Hundred Legions, a large empire composed mostly of Khans. This is hinted at by Gaius (a Khan NPC in the Viper's Jaw) mentioning how he doesn't deserve to be in the Etrean Luminant, and that he comes from out West. The Covenant of Flame alongside Flamecharm originated in this Luminant due to it being the birthplace of Amorus Pleeksty.
Western Luminant The home to the Hundred Legions and home of the Khans. Speculated to have the main Headquarters of the Ministry. Home of Amorous Pleeksty.
- #19Northern Luminantselective
Keys: Northern Luminant, North, Frostdraw, Navae
The Northern Luminant is a region with mostly Tundra and Taiga landscape in it with mountains and whatnot.
It was known as Northern Lumen before the Tides (which caused the voidsea barriers between luminants) and since it is almost inhospitable with the harsh winter and conditions, it has always been a mysterious land for researchers and scholars alike.
It houses the Justicars, Drakkards and the Edenkite, which are also mysterious. Justicars are a faction of free-willed people, whom originate from the Frozen Coast. The Edenkite are wise immortal dragons with dark knowledge from past worlds. Cows originate from the North and Lance's Brother imports his cheese from there.
Northern Luminant A frozen Tundra. Said that the temperatures are so extreme, that it has become very lethal recently due to the temperatures going lower with the pass of time. Probably home to Frostdraw. Originally inhabited by the Edenkite. The beheaded corpse of one remains there to this day.

Keys: Races, Etrean, Canor, Vesperian, Ganymede, Primal Vesperian, Chrysid, Tiran, Celtor, Khan, Felinor, Adret, Gremor, Capra, races
Race Lore IMPORTANT: NONE of them have things as FUR or CLAWS or TAILS. Mostly have a trait here and there.
Adrets: No animal, they are basically blue people with markings Ganymede: Snails/slugs. They are pitch black (not brown) Vesperian: Green/brown people with masks with drawings on Felinor: Self explanatory. Cat ears and skin color is basically what a cat would have. No tail. Canor: Same skin colors a dog would have. Facial markings around the eye. No canine teeth or whatever Chrysid: Pitch white, small antens. Moth race Capra: Blue, Red and Green skin color, they always wear a goat skull/mask or whatever that is. Some of them use them like how a Arrancar would use their hollow mask on Bleach, where it's just parts of it. Khan: Monkey race, they have some sort of crown on their head and that's it. Mostly white. Celtor: Skins ranges from green tones. Racoon marking thing across their eyes. Tiran: Bird people, color pallets based on birds. Canary, crow, etc. Etrean: Snake people, nothing really special. White skin color and snake like pupils. Gremor: Mostly dark/brown skin color and a specific green variant. Has deer horns.
Etrean "Defined by their snake-like features and cunning. Isolationists who tend to their own interests."
This race shares traits with snakes. A Race most commonly found in the Etrean Luminant and often regarded as "xenophobic" due to their initial wariness of other Races, often to a slanderous degree. The people of Etris has been in scrambles ever since their king had left them and the current reigning lord causing evident dismay to his people, rather than helping them. Inspired by East Asian cultures: White snakes play a part in Chinese mythology. Their architecture consists of gates, temples and lanterns often seen from Chinese and Japanese countries. Snakes are known for having thin eyes, with some people describing people of East Asian descent the same way. During the Feudal era, Japan focused on isolating itself from the world, much like the Etreans have in Deepwoken. Celtor "Silver-tongued traders whose pride often gets the better of them. Renowned as ship-builders and seafarers alike."
This race shares traits with mostly comprised of similarities to racoons and possibly ferrets, but more generally shares the traits of many mustelids (animals like ferrets and otters) and prokaryotes (mainly raccoons). A prideful and greedy race that used to live in a great city - known by many for their legendary bankers and overall wealth - that was eventually swept by the tides, and dragged to the bottom of the ocean and into The Depths where it stands today. The common last names of the Celtor people bear similarities to Russian last names. Celtor is pronounced like "keltor," rather than "seltor." Adret "Tattooed when they come of age, their tattoo represents the path of life they seek. Well-regarded as bureaucrats and keepers of coin."
A recently arrived race of spiritually adept individuals that make up the bulk of the Authority's High Command. They arrived roughly around 1400 years ago. Their tattoos represent their future and path of life they wish to seek. Although others may interpret their markings differently, it is up to the Adret on what their markings represent and mean. According to an NPC in Summer Isle, the Adrets are "different" and not from the "old world". This is due to their origin as a once solitary folk living far in the past on the peaks of great mountain ranges now long since drowned, as with the waves the Adrets were forced to come to the little land remaining and join greater society, giving the appearance that they came with the waves themselves. The Adret race come from the Central Luminant, a realm with technology and military far beyond what the Etrean Luminant offers. They are NOT fish. It is theorized they may be humans, as they invest purely into technology over spiritualism, create empires and wage the largest scale wars the world has seen, and once shared a close bond with Canor, the dog race. Their blue color scheme possibly represents how they seemed to come in with the tide. Besides this little thing, there's not really much to explain why there aren't any "humans" that fully resemble those in the real world in the universe of Deepwoken. They could be blue because it's the color of the ocean and literally everything in this game has to do with the ocean and their markings being perceived as they want to be by Adrets is a sign of how different intelligent minds perceive things. They're the closest thing we have to actual humans and are pretty much so, only difference being that they're blue for some reason. Canor "With canine features, the Canor are fiercely loyal. Often found as guards and personal servants in the retinue of powerful people."
A race that shares traits with canids, often found as guards and personal servants to powerful people due to their fierce loyalty. Once heavily employed as soldiers of the Authority, this isn't reflected as much by the forces in the East but may still hold true in the rest of the world. Seem to be German-like in terms of name and history: They popularized the Zweihander, a real life German weapon. The Thundercaller trainer is a Canor named Funke, German for spark. The Canor mantra modifier collector in Etris is named Schnitzel and the one in Summer Isle is named Hotdog, both being German dishes and both seemingly not fluent in English. Canor last names are mostly German/German inspired. Gremor "Deer-horned pariahs who lived a peaceful life as nomads before the tides came. Tolerant of extremes that many others would avoid."
A race of deer folks that consider themselves free from authority and subjugation and seek simple lives away from the conflicts. The Gremors are renowned for following Navae; that guides all Gremors forwards, acting as a compass. Navae in reality is not a star, a direction or a Celestial Body; but a source that guides all Gremors by pointing towards herself. Khan "Brimming with pride yet attentive to the finer details. Known as steadfast warriors and mercenaries the world over."
A prideful race that shares traits with monkeys, known well for the crowns they wear as well as being steadfast warriors and mercenaries. They are a big part of the Hundred Legions. Generally found in the Western Luminant. Felinor "Akin to their feline features, the Felinor are carefree and whimsical. Seen to be thieves and outlaws, but merely seek a life of freedom."
A race that shares traits with felines who defined themselves as carefree and whimsical, seeking a life full of freedom and free will. They had a kingdom in Markor, what's become of it is unknown, though they are still prevalent in the Central Luminant. Vesperian "Never seen without their masks, poorly understood, but begrudgingly appreciated due to their natural talents."
A race that shares traits with bugs, never seen without the masks they wear, although most may not understand why. Related to the Ganymedes as well as possibly the Chrysids, due to their similar eyes and surnames. This is because they all come from a single, ancient race. Their ancestors aren't the Primal Vesperians, they are just some of the earliest known beings that identified as a Vesperian. Their natural armor comes from the fact that most beetles have exoskeletons to protect them, which Vesperians are based on. Vesperians grow their masks. This would imply they are organic in some way, thus the masks are most likely chitin. They can still remove them to eat or drink, however. Capra "Keepers of old knowledge, they wander the lands offering their experience to those in need of it."
A race that shares traits with goats, who are keepers of ancient secrets. They traverse the seas and share knowledge to those who need it. Little is known about their origins... Ganymede "Peculiar folk who are often known for their wisdom and intelligence. Though quite rare, Ganymede science still leads man forward."
A race that shares traits with snails, who are well known for their intelligence and wisdom. Their science still leads the field. Distantly related to their separate branch, the Vesperians, due to their similar eyes and surnames. A race that lived below the surface and in the Depths, which might explain why they have resistance to insanity. Ganymede evolved to all posses baldness, but a millennium ago, the first Greatlord modified their species to give them their innate white hair. Ganymede have a closer connection to Lifeweave, so learn it more easily. Chrysid Lore Sources: Lore Books
"Deeply spiritual folk who have an uncanny knack for deciphering the emotions of others while keeping their own a closed book."
The Chrysid used to be part of the Greathive races, alongside Vesperians and Ganymedes. However, they split off due to their belief in faith over technology. Despite splitting off from the Greathives, Chrysid are still welcome to reside there. As explained by Hiri, there are "no hard feelings" between the Greathives and Chrysids. Many Chrysids choose to reside in the Lullaby Isles, an area surrounded by a dense mountain range at sea, off the coast of Markor, with multiple small islands dotted around the region. This area is not seen ingame, but mentioned. Every village in the Lullaby Isles serves the Lady Confessor, a theocratic dictator which decides what is sin, and punishes those who stand in her way. The word confessor can have three meanings: Someone who confesses, the least likely meaning based on the context. Someone who proclaims their religious faith when faced with opposition, but not tortured or killed, thus not being classified as a martyr. Also unlikely. A priest who hears the confessions of others and can give absolution, which is the release of any guilt, punishment or obligation brought about due to the sin they confessed to. This likely where the title is derived from. Within the central isles of the Lullaby Isles is a city-state where the council of the Moonlit Faith resides. Many Chrysids believe that the appearance of a collar signifies that one of their own has attained wisdom, possibly a form of Elder identification. Though they were once highly reclusive, they began to appear more frequently with the new era that the world was going through with the increase in accessibility to the second layer. Those who do not follow one specific faith tend to travel the world and tell stories. This can be assumed based of the many NPCs found around the Etrean and Eastern Luminants that are found around the map, telling you stories and are excited to share news about recent events in their life. Tiran Though they were once highly reclusive, they began to appear more frequently with the new era that the world was going through with the increase in accessibility to the second layer. Krulians Lore Sources: Ferryman
Krulians are shapeshifters, created from amalgamations of souls, and are servants of The Deep. They are the next step in the evolutionary chain and are the closest link between the people of Deepwoken and the Drowned Gods. The Ferryman identified himself as a Krulian in Boatman's Watch. They can use any attunement, but some prefer some more than others. The attunement they use is likened to a favorite color. They can customise their current one as they see fit, selecting any color of their choice, the Ferryman taking a liking to purple. They are far weaker when on the surface than in The Depths. There are higher Krulians and lesser Krulians. Higher Krulians are more powerful than even Zi'eer or Pleeksty. There is a chance that they are ancient enemies of the Lightborne and Celestials, as Krulians are very close to the Drowned gods and reside in the Depths, there is a high chance that they fought against the Celestials and Lightborne. Lightborn "The stars call you back..."
Lore Sources: Kaide
Children of Celestials, the Lightborn are considered fragments of these once great beings who lived above in the sky. In recent times, a family of Lightborn known as the Spellhardts have come forth in the Etrean Luminant, though their reputation among the people is questioned due to their unfavorable actions. Some of the surviving Lightborns live in The Floating Keep, a moving keep owned by the Spellhardts. 'Falling to the temptations' of a Drowned God will result in being exiled from their community. Visually, they don halo-like circlets around either their heads, necks or wrists. Celestials "The stars call you back..."
Lore Sources: Celestial Telescope (Greathive Aratel), Kaide
The People of the Stars, so to speak. They are not to be confused with Lightborns, their descendants. Celestials came to the Luminants from the stars when the Canticlysm descended upon the land of the Old World. Some people misinterpreted "Drawn from the Heavens by the Song", referring this quote to the Canticlysm; but it was actually the Celestials that was being referred to. The Celestial cities hang below a black sea, likened to the night sky. The ivory and pearl structures hang over like chains. Their civilization has fallen to ruin. Their abandoned cities and dead civilizations litter the skies as shimmering stars. Known Celestials include Navae and Alsin, who have become religious figures in modern times. From the way the dialogue is written in the Celestial Telescope, choosing the option "Gods rest their weary souls." opens up on what has caused the disappearance of Celestials and the abandonment of their Cities was- identifying it as "It". It is theorized it was the Celtorian Horror from when The Tides came, a monster or being that drowned the City of Celtor. If it is to be not the case that caused the Celestials to what they are now, it's unlikely that there are space monsters. Eating parts of them turns you into a Starkindred. Primal Vesperians Primal Vesperians do not play a significant role in the lore, thought they did exist, and have some brief lore behind them. Primal Vesperians were a small group of deviant Vesperians who went on to further their more animalistic traits in their newly formed group known as the Primal Vesperians, they eventually died off as a group leaving one sole surviving member, this being Stag Acrossus. "Ancient Vesperians lost to time."

Keys: Races, Etrean, Canor, Vesperian, Ganymede, Primal Vesperian, Chrysid, Tiran, Celtor, Khan, Felinor, Adret, Gremor, Capra, traits
This is a book in-game that explains the animalistic traits.
The contemporary understanding of the origins of the Races of Lumen can be said to stem primarily from the โGremor Hypothesisโ posed by Steward Heidegard in his 877 CE study. In this essay, Heidegard delves into the spoken histories and folklore of the Gremor nomads, and proposes that the poorly understood mechanisms of Vows might be behind the internal โcompassโ spoken of by the nomads.
Gremor folklore speaks of the descent of Navae to this world, the nursing of the falling goddess back to life by a wandering nomad, and a Vow made between this nomad and the celestial Navae. While there are naturally accounts of the deer-horned Gremor during the Old World, it is only in post-tide sources that we find any mention of the innate compass the nomads use to navigate the seas.
Heidegard suggests that the Vow made in the stories was a โHereditary Vowโ, one that would be passed on to future descendants as part of the terms of the Vow. It is said that through this Vow, the children of the nomad were blessed with โNavaeโs guidanceโ, though not the nomad herself. The mechanics of such a Vow have not yet been replicated to such an extent through modern experimentation, but the question is posed - if a supernatural gift such as the blessing of Navae could be conveyed through a Hereditary Vow, what else could be a result of such an effect that we have taken for granted?
It is well known that while there are hybrids in nature, there are not hybrids between the races of Man - we are of the same species, but bear only one distinct race each.
The traits we inherit are not a mixture of the different races we hold as our heritage - the child of a Gremor and a Celtor will take after the traits of only one of the parents. The mechanics of which parent takes priority in this assignment of traits are poorly understood and have widely been concluded to be down to a variety of disparate factors, such as the โliveliness of oneโs spiritโ [sic], oneโs aptitude with the Song, or the intensity of oneโs Soul Murmur.
There is naturally a taboo surrounding the use of Vows to enforce religious tenets. The origins of this taboo are unclear, but there exist some records of the religious institutions present in the days between the Tides and the establishment of the Citadel. Recovered holy texts speak of sacraments made and promises broken on pain of death, and of the mandatory persecution of non-adherents. Of the faiths that survive from those days, such as the Covenant of Flame, none extant today enforce Vows upon their members.
Many isolated and less integrated cultures often adhere to the worship of animal deities, of spirits that embody nature. Without the taboo brought by history - or perhaps ancestral memory - it is believed that some of these pagan faiths may utilise Vows on some level. These cultures may resemble the early days of our own cultures, and this can perhaps be seen in the continued reverence of our โpatronโ animal counterparts. The wild deer hunted by the Gremor nomads are afforded the same burial rites as their own kind, after all.
It is a somewhat poorly understood but apparent property of Vows that the number of those sworn to one magnifies the resultant effects of the Vow. This can be seen in the strength granted by Oaths to their adherents. It can therefore be theorised that this may lead to potent and dramatic effects if extended to the size of a religion thousands - or even millions - strong.
So, having stated the relevant background information, I posit that the races of Lumen are the result of a Hereditary Vow. Supposing that a Vow was able to bestow upon the Gremor a preternatural ability such as Navaeโs guidance, I believe that as a matter of course another Vow made long in the past may have originally bestowed the traits that the races of Lumen exhibit today.
Free of the taboo of Religious Vows, the animal worship of our ancestors gave way to an attribution of the traits of the animals worshipped as tenets of the Vow. In the urging of the Vowโs adherents to emulate the traits of sacred animals in their actions (e.g. in the case of Canor, the loyalty of a wolf), they were physically granted the traits of said animals as the Vow was brought into fruition.
This may have happened over some generations - the mechanism of how Hereditary Vows are passed on through descendants isnโt fully known yet, but it seems plausible that, just as words are warped through consecutive exchanges, the Vowโs terms naturally evolved to be more explicit in its inclusion of the animal traits.
If races emerged from Vows, we can also suppose that our far-flung ancestors would have had appearances more closely in line with one another. Working backwards, we might suppose that - with the common features shared between the races - our ancestors may have once resembled the Adret. This is of course a matter of some dispute as, were the Adret a โvowlessโ race, they would have been โbred outโ over the generations due to Vows taking precedence. Itโs possible that some trait of the Adret was not shared by our common ancestors, and that that is why they continue to exist today.

A Government ruled by Etreans. They occupy the Etrean Luminant and its capital city, Etris. Their appearance can be distinguished by their white/green/purple armor. If you are a Contractor, the royal guards will greet you with unique dialogue. They have been ruled by their Kings for generations; until months before the year 1271, that the Lord Regent took over. Their culture seems to draw from East Asian countries Many parallels can be drawn between them and China/Japan The Isle of Vigils swordsmen are armed with Katanas, a traditional Japanese sword. They cut themselves off from the outside world following a catastrophe. They are at war with the Central Authority, an empire that hails from the Central Luminant, which has a more western theme and superior technology, much like the conflict between China and the British Empire. Similar architecture. They silence anyone who is suspicious of the Lord Regent.
A kingdom of chiefly Etreans that are the main ruling faction in the Etrean Luminant. They reside in their capital of Etris.
Being the largest land ruling faction in the Etrean Luminant, they hold a large range of power, deploying foot-soldiers all across the Etrean Luminant. They are led by a Lord Regent who rules from his castle and seeing over the land of Etris and the Etrean Wilds. They had been ruled by their Kings for generations; until decades to months before the year 1271, when the new leader Lord Regent took over.
The Lord Regent is actually a Contractor and Ministry Prophet, essentially making them a puppet state for the Ministry. This led to a war with the Authority.
The soldiers in Etris are purely Etrean, with the Mantra Collector sitting at the bottom near the docks being a Canor. If you go up to Schnitzel and talk them, you will be given the normal dialogue options, as well as a third, "Why aren't you up in town?" Upon asking this question, Schnitzel will say "Canor no allowed to buy in town, new leader very strange." While many take this to mean they are racist, the Etreans welcomed three Adrets into their capital, two of whom where Divers, implying there was a different reason for Schnitzel's banishment.

The Ministry is a group of mysterious users of Shadowcast who seek to cause Great Drownings in order to obtain Godhood. They are led by the Nine Prophets, with the First Prophet being the strongest mortal alive, the Second Prophet being the one who gifted Chaser his hemokinetic abilities and the Fourth Prophet being the current Lord Regent of Etris. They have some sort of hostility against the Children of Navae, and desire to clear them out of Summer Isle.
Many years ago, they conquered Minityrsa and made it their own territory. After the King of Etrea disappeared, which they may well have had a hand in, they installed the Fourth Prophet as its Lord Regent.
They enjoy recruiting people to kill others, sometimes to kill specific individuals, sometimes just to kill random people.
Notable Members 1st Prophet (Deepwoken, possibly creator of Shadowcast?) 2nd Prophet (Taught Chaser his blood abilities) The Lord Regent of Etris (4th Prophet) Chaser, Scholar of the Burning Blood (Formerly belonged to The Divers)
A group of mysterious Shadowcasters known for their cult like appearance and ability to fade into the background of the world stage. Their goal is to cause the sinking of the Overworld into The Depths which will lead them to becoming Drowned Gods. Somehow. They were responsible for the sinking of Celtor, using it as an offering to Yun'Shul. The Blindseer Glyphs hint at them having used a Contractor to do it. This Contractor wasn't Zi'eer. They are lead by prophets. There is no limit to how many there can be, but as of Year 1363 there are nine. They are ranked by strength. The leader of the Ministry is the First Prophet, currently his whereabouts are unknown, but he is a Deepwoken and one of the most, if not the, most powerful 'human being', depending on your definition of the word. The Ministry has some sort of hostility against the Children of Navae, which can be seen in skirmishes between two of each group at Summer Isle. The Ministry have much more importance to the lore and events to take place later on due to their newfound connections to the Depths Voices, and perhaps a bigger threat against the Luminants. Essentially enemies with every major faction in the game until proven otherwise. Minityrsa was not originally their territory. It was conquered by the 'Ancient Ministry.' The Ministry Scouts all use Krulian Knives, which is also the signature weapon wielded by the Ferryman. The Ministry is the 'western benefactor' mentioned by Cestis when the Tacet quest is first initiated. Due to receiving reputation points occasionally for doing his assassinations with them. The book Stars Above and the Blade Between implies they were involved in the King of Etrea's disappearance. Several individuals recruit adventurers to kill other sentient beings, for which they will reward them and increase their standing in the Ministry's eyes. The Ministry's fourth prophet, Zi'eer, is the Lord Regent of Etris. "A Waltz of Snow and Knights," the theme of Minityrsa, shares the same motif as "A Sarabande of Thunder" and "Dance, if You Can!" Both of these are themes of the Ferryman, which shares the same knife as the Ministry operatives found throughout Minityrsa. There is a high chance that they are part responsible for the events in the second layer, specially the first floor due to Chaser being one of their operatives, possibly seeking power with in New Kyrsa as Chaser was looking to enter the city.

Several Wardens are in charge of operations across the globe, such as Warden Jericho, who oversees the war in the east. These Wardens then have Inquisitors that work under them. The Wardens are not mere pencil pushers, they are some of the fiercest warriors in their arsenal. Many of the Inquisitors are named after flowers, such as Inquisitor Lotus. The Central Authority has a FOB in The Eastern Luminant, named Fort Merit. The only faction aware of The Lord Regent of Etris' true nature and what the Ministry is planning. The Officers which use Thundercall wear a red coat over their armour. The footsoldiers that use Flamecharm, ironically, lack the red coat. Consists mostly of Adrets, but can vary with other races too. Canors were once a major part of their military, but appear to have been phased out of the higher ranking positions for the most part. Despite this, they still receive minor preferentially treatment, but Adret still remain the most privileged members of their society. The soldiers that use Flamecharm are comprised of other races. These just happen to be the lower-ranking, more poorly equipped, poorly trained and more expendable part of their army, often sent on suicide missions for seemingly no reason. They are rather Authoritarian, and are willing to use violence against peaceful protests against their rule. Currently at war with the Kingdom of Etrea. Their war against Etrea was initially an attempt for the Authority to maintain control in the Eastern Luminant, but shifted gears once they learned the current Lord Regent of the nation is a member of The Ministry. The Hive are not at war with the Authority, though tensions are very high between the two. Despite this, the Hive Constructs will go out of their way to exterminate any Authority member they see. The Knives of Eylis, Divers, Summer Company and Ignition Union all work for them. The Knives sow chaos anywhere for a price. They purchase firearms from The Summer Company. The Divers help with Depths research The Ignition Union kill creatures from the Deep. However, all these factions, except the Knives, despise each other and often find themselves skirmishing, resulting in loss of life and resources. As they all work for them, the Authority refuses to send aid to any of the factions, causing a level of disenfranchisement. The Central Authority (as of we know now) use three attunements, and has their own role. The Central Authority's Flamecharmers are used by soldiers, guards, lieutenants and commanders alike. The Central Authority's Thundercallers are officers; but they are notoriously known for torturing their prisoners with electricity. Also utilized in breaking up protests; according to Kelsius, this division is called the "Shock Corps" The Central Authority's Frostdrawers are high ranking commanding officers. Their Inquisitors use a mental veil to protect them from attacks against the mind, each of whom has a designated handler. One of their known conquered territories is the savannah of Markor, which is presumably the location of the Markor Citadel. The Authority we see at Fort Merit is a very small fraction of the full fighting force of the Authority, but due to the Lightkeeper of the Eastern Luminant, Viqh, refusing to keep the Lighthouse open, they cannot advance in their war against Etrea. If not, the war would have already been won. Their goal is to survive the rising tides by bringing peace through unity, unifying all cultures and factions under one banner. I.e. conquest. Understandably, the majority of ingame factions object to this, especially considering the prejudice shown by the Authority.
t's very bizarre that this even has to be stated, but the Central Authority are very much racist. While the Logo could imply that they are to act as a shining beacon to the other four Luminants, due to it being star shaped, it may also hint to them being tied to Celestials. The Central Authority has clear relations with every faction except Celtor. Windrunner implies the Authority's war against Etrea is primarily to stop Zi'eer (Lord Regent) from causing a great drowning in the Etrean Luminant, with the Warmaster deciding to take drastic measures to go to war with Etrea to invade Etris and then try to stop Zi'eer and his contractors. However, the Operation 'Puppet Master' report implies this is being kept a secret from most of the Authority's forces. Their lack of presence on Minityrsa and hostilities with The Children of Navae also seem to contradict with this mission. These may be due to the closing of the Eastern Interstitial Lighthouse cutting off orders and reinforcements from the Central Luminant. Interestingly, Warden Jericho believes the Authority's peacekeeping may be contributing to the drowning, likely due to the casualties it's generating.

//Operation_Description
Operation Puppet Master is a Class II espionage operation. The Inquisitor assigned to this operation is to find the identity of Etrea's acting Lord Regent and keep log of interactions with Etris inhabitants. The nature of Class II forbades this Operation from resulting in unnecessary escalation.
//Report 01_Initial_Encounters_13:20
Initial surveyings of the public offered inconclusive or insufficient information on the identity of the Lord Regent. Few are willing to speak at all, let alone in great detail. I will need to apply different methods if I am to gather anything concrete. Perhaps one of the local guards could be of use.
//Report 02_Subject_Interrogation_01:00
Subject is a male Etrean guard by the name of Aster Leshi. Subject was removed from his night post and replaced with an Authority Soldier of similar likeness as to avoid suspicion from his colleagues. Subject responds well to initial attempts at Manipulative Thundercall probing but appears to only be able to offer surface level information. Subject describes the Lord Regent as a humble man who came into power when his grandparents were still young, but is either misinformed or delirious from the constant interrogation. Our reports suggest the Lord Regent has only been active in the Etrean Luminant for the past decade. Attempts to probe the Subject's mind further does not result in new details. Attempts at reaching further in to the subject's mind seem to stop short, as if being barricaded off. Tonight's questioning provided little value but the potential presence of a mind veil warrants keeping the subject for further interrogation.
//Report 03_Subject_Interrogation_05:00
Subject was interrogated again but was administered an amnesiac before questioning. Subject's answers on the identity of the Lord Regent seems to have changed, as the subject now claims to have met him as he was rising to power. He claims the Lord Regent saved the people of Etrea from the Authority in their time of need and even visited his home personally. The lack of any consistency in the subject's answers on the Lord Regent further confirms my suspicions. I knew the subject may very well be compromised if I attempted the procedure, but to be so close in making a discovery I persisted anyways. I increased the voltage of the Thundercall far beyond the limits of a normal hippocampal shock. The subject began to scream wildly as the voltage increased, the severity of the situation warranted the subject being terminated by the procedure if need be. The Subject began to lose control of all motor functions and spasm wildly, if he died then so would his secrets. Pouring all of my remaining ether into the attempt, the voltage continued to climb and climb and climb until I suddenly felt it. Exhausting the last of my ether in a final surge I felt the wall within the Subject's mind shatter. A horrible scream pierced my ears followed by a vision of a horrible creature staring at me, its black tendrils flowing down its body like ribbons and its emerald eyes drilling straight into my consciousness. I awoke to the subject's body on the floor, eyes burnt out. There was no time to apply amnesics to those who may have known the Subject. Whatever the creature was that I had witnessed, it now knew I was here.
//Report 04_Extraction_Summary_09:00
I fear I may not escape back to Authority controlled space, but even if I were to find home I doubt I would ever find safety again. The Authority member left in the place of Aster Leshi did not rendevouz for our evacuation, yet somehow he speaks to me.. I hear him in my thoughts. I now know what I saw in that vision, by breaking that mind veil I was able to peer into the true form of that grotesque Lord. Following the breaking of the mind veil I have felt hands pulling at the edges of my mind, looking for recompense of the soul that was lost. The Etreans appear to have had a mental veil put over them in order to subjugate and control them, the same veil we Inquisitor's use as a shield. But this veil was different, it was cold and held like a leech siphoning its host. Authority veils are administered by a single handler, powerful seals like this require intense concentration to keep active. But a mental veil capable of subjugating an entire city? The very notion is unprecedented. This report must reach Warden Jericho's hands. Whatever this Lord Regent actually is, it is clear peace was never an option. This conflict between the Authority and Etrea is intentional and there are forces at play that we are yet to understand. Should I feel the hands of this creature pry too close to my mind, I will take the necessary measures to insure I am not captured.

During Year 1363, Zi'eer began to rebuild them, recruiting them from Pathfinders who proved their worth

(Currently Negotiating on Meteor Isle) Enemies: The Ministry, The Contractors, The Knives of Eylis, The Central Authority Lore Sources: Gremorian Longspear Description A nomadic tribe of primarily Gremors, though a couple of other races also exist in their tribe, they primarily worship Navae, the protector of Ice and Shadow. Navae is personified female. Navae herself is not a star or direction; but rather what the Gremor Compasses point towards. In the Etrean Luminant (East), The Compass points to Navae; to the West. While in The Depths however, the Compass points to the Surface. A Celestial. Following up about Gremor Compasses, it is redundant to use the sun as a form of direction like we normally do (Sunrise to the east, Sunset to the west), as stated above. Not much more is known for the Navaen tribe but given the fact that they are mostly Gremor- it's safe to say that they follow the same lore as Gremors. Inventors of the fist style 'The Way of Navae.' Certain groups of the tribe, such as the one at Meteor Isle, have adopted a settled lifestyle rather than a nomadic one. Other Nomads seem to consider this sacrilege. They have no clue what quarrel the Ministry holds with them, seeing them as just more marauders and bandits. They are the only people with a dedicated religion and hold a few qualities relating them to other religions in the real world. On Meteor Isle they are currently negotiating with the Hive of Aratel to get mutual benefit, the Hive getting the life of the Island while probably the Children of Navae get protection of the Hive from the Authority.

The Hundred Legions Territory: Western Luminant Encountered In: Erisia, Aratel Island Attunements: Galebreathe, Thundercall Alliances: ??? Enemies: The Central Authority, Etrea Lore Sources: Amara, Brutus A military organization from the Western Luminant. Despite there being one hundred legions, in Etrea we only see the 11th Legion. They are not to be confused with The Authority or The Hive. They wear armor similar to that of Ancient Greece and Rome, ranging from armor plating and scale armor. They have ranks such as Legionnaires and Centurions, the latter of which is mentioned by Amara in The Viper's Jaw. They appear to have once been allies with the Authority, but some treaty was broken between them and are now at war. Inventors of the fist style 'Legion Kata.' They have a Greek/Roman motif, considering centurions and legionnaires are both ranks used in Ancient Rome, as well as the nature of their armor. The Legion is also primarily composed of Khans, which have crowns similar to that of Julius Caesar. Despite this, the race as well as the crowns they wear are likely a reference to Son Wukong from the old Chinese novel, "Journey to the West." The 11th Legion came to the Eastern/Etrean Luminant under the command of Akilles to observe the conflict between Etrea and the Authority. The 11th Legion is suspected to be commanded by someone named Akilles, probably a centurion and leader of the 11th Legion (The 11th, not the hundred) due to him bringing the Legion to the East. They are likely named after the Greek mythology hero Achilles.
Big empire on the Western Luminant
A superpower native to the Western Luminant, the Hundred Legions are a powerful empire boasting, as the name implies, a hundred legions of soldiers. They once allied themselves with The Authority, but were betrayed, so tracked a weakened Authority force down to the Etrean Luminant and sent the 11th Legion there in order to gather Information regarding the Authority. Their ranks consist mainly of Khans, but they are open to recruiting other races. They are creators of the Legion Kata fighting style and masters of Galebreathe as the only way to train your Galebreath is through Gale Kata, described to be made by the Legion.
The Legion has several war heroes that are depicted by either their ornaments or their weapons, an example is the Khan Shield. Examples of war heroes are Akilles and Acheron. Akilles, who was in charge of the 11th legion and brought them to the East when an imminent conflict in the was brewing, and Acheron who is the owner of the infamous Acheron's Warspear who seemingly lost it to a King Thresher and but survived and can be found in Aratel Island as part of the Legion Kata questline
While speaking to Gaius, you can learn that being stationed in the East isn't the best if you're looking to become the next Ruler of the Legion as he outright curses, presumably Akilles, who stationed him there. The Legion seems to have a high regard towards Honor and the individual soldier, as reporting to Atra, telling him that Lars has passed will prompt him to say, "Let my comrades know, we'll hold a ceremony in his honor." Despite the Legion being extremely vast as they rule an entire Luminant, apparently, with an iron fist, it has too little lore content to be deemed a relevant faction.

They are a small organization and the inventors of Firearms, such as Revolvers and Flintlocks. Gunsmith Rosen introduced the New World with Firearms in his young age; thus the foundation of Summer Company. (Scope) They'd rather not expand their territory to the Driftlands- as of 1271. Due to the fact that the Driftland, Erisia Island is currently contested between Kingdom of Etrea and the Authority. (Scope) Giving the Explosive Crates to Scope gives additional dialogue; which he comments of the Authority's lack of cooperation and threatens them to decline their armament supply. (Rifle Spear) Although their armaments has been stolen such as the Rifle Spear by the Authority, Summer Company still has a business relationship with them. (Gunsmith Rosen) The Leader of Summer Company is unknown, as we've never seen them in person. It is assumed Gunsmith Rosen is still in charge of Summer Company. Some assume that the dialogue given by the SC Guards to "Make Rosen proud." indicates he's still alive and retained as the Leader of Summer Company, though it may just mean spiritually. The recent creation of the Stormseye with Kyrsan Medallions seemingly confirms that Rosen is alive and still creating new types of guns. Summer Company has ties with The Authority. They contract the Company for Firearms in exchange for goods and the likings. Despite the fact that the Rifle Spear's description say that Summer Company secrets are being stolen by The Authority they are still in business with them. The Summer Company overlooked the actions The Authority took under their noses and ignored them; presumably to avoid ruining their business relationship with them. Their relationship is likely what led to their conflict with The Ignition Union, meeting thanks to both being hired by the same group. This has not been going well for them. It will be a matter of time until Summer Company is no use for The Authority, eventually terminating their contract between them, just like with the Legion. Although guns are sold in the Etrean Luminant, they are also obtainable from The Depths, which is an interesting implication as they can either be a clue to the whereabouts of Rosen or a consequence of the mass-manufacturing of the guns produced by Summer Company. Apparently they have possession of some Kyrsan Medallions that they stole from the Ignition Union, creating the Stormseye. They are "business rivals" with the Ignition Union, stealing their cargo from ships while also attacking their base in the Eastern Luminant being Miners Landing. The conflict was started by the Ignition Union, who ironically viewed the Company as morally inferior, so attacked them, raiding their gunpowder stores and murdering many of their employees, leading to the Company's retaliation.
The Summer Company is a faction that operates in their fortified island, the Summer Isle in The Aratel Sea.
As their name implies, they are a merchant Company that are the Deepwoken world's chief supplier of firearms.
As mentioned in the flavour text for the Flintlock, the Summer Company was founded when a blacksmith originating from the Etrean Luminant returned from his trip abroad, bringing with him the technologies of a foreign land, mainly - the firearm.
They are one of the three factions employed by The Authority.
They frequently come to blows with the Ignition Union, who steal their gunpowder and explosives for themselves. They also rewire the Union's security devices; the Mechalodaunts, making them aggresively attack friend and foe alike.
They also buy and sell guns to the Authority, seen by the rifles and rifle spears that the Authority owns.

Attunements: Flamecharm, Thundercall Alliances: The Central Authority (Business Relations) Enemies: The Summer Company, The Divers, The Ministry Lore Sources: Arcwarder (Description), Darksteel Greatsword (Description), The Ignition Union is a Mining Organization, armed with weaponry such as the infamous Darksteel Greatsword and Railblade. The Ignition Union seem keen on stealing gunpowder and explosives from the Summer Company, which they are pretty successful at most times. They've been spotted attempting to take over Diver territory, falling behind in Layer 1 compared to the Divers, but exceeding in Layer 2, where they managed to create an outpost long before The Diver arrived there. The Darksteel Greatsword, the Ignition Union being a mining organization, and the fact that Deep gems drop only (excluding Primadon) from the Depths, we can conclude that the Ignition Union are experts at dealing with Depths monsters due to their occupation as a Depths mining organization. Much like their two main rivals, they are hired by The Authority, this time to "go into the Depths and kill anything that crawls out." The Ignition Union has bases in the First and Second Layers of the Depths. Deepdelver is a special rank in the Ignition Union for those who delve deep into the depths, and have proved their merit by helping others. Comparable to the Black Divers. However unlike Black Divers that are recognised by their strength, Deepdelvers are granted the rank if proven that they will give their life to help others, however there still strong Deepdelvers such as Colonel Hoffa. Likely a socialist organization, as shown by their group being a union and Arcwarder's description referencing Karl Marx's quote "From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs." They seem keen on being morally superior to their rivals, but this often fails and just results in them coming off as hypocritical, such as them being critical of The Divers for working for the Central Authority, despite also being on their payroll, and when their simple disdain of the Summer Company gave way to outright murder. Furthermore, the Union is shown to employ at least one child soldier in Epsi, something not even the Authority stoops low enough to do.
The Ignition Union is a faction found throughout the Eastern Luminant and The Depths. They are a renowned freelancer company and labour union that specializes in trade, technology research and development, and Depths exploration.
Their main base of operations is the mountainous Miner's Landing, located in the Eastern Luminant. Additionally, they have established two field bases in the Depths: The Chariot's Spire in Scyphozia and The Frontier Furnace in the first floor of the Eternal Gale.
The Union is also responsible for producing weapons such as the Ignition Deepcrusher and the Railblade. They are also the force behind technologies such as the Arc Suit.
They are one of the three factions contracted by The Authority alongside The Divers and the Summer Company. The Ignition Union are specifically tasked with going into the Depths and "killing anything that crawls out".
The Union maintains a mutually hostile relationship with the Summer Company; the Summer Company manufactures valuable gunpowder and explosives that are of use to the Union in their many research projects. They also have various ideological differences, which was ultimately what resulted in the Ignition Union's instigation of hostilities.
The Ignition Union also share an unfriendly rivalry with the Divers, and they frequently engage in petty, violent squabbles over territory in the Depths. Akira, who does not view them as human beings anymore, refers to them as "Mudskippers" after killing several of them with his Resonance, and the aforementioned members of the Union that engaged him in combat seemed prepared to callously kill him on the spot.

Dr Carrion (Dialogue), Divers Outfit Schematics (Description). An organization that specializes in traversing and researching in The Depths. Their FOB is located in The Depths, named "Castle Light". However this is just a FOB, not the headquarters, which are located in the Markor Citadel. They were founded shortly after the Tides. The Divers requires the individual to have a strong steady mind, as traversing in The Depths will take a toll against their sanity. Examples of lacking the Willpower is Karliah, in Etris, who could easily go insane and kill someone close to her. (The Authority) The Divers are outsourced by The Central Authority (Receives funds from The Authority) in return of their findings within The Depths. (The Authority) The Divers has a mixed relationship with The Authority, such as giving them the "cold shoulder". Despite this, people like the Ignition Union call the Divers "Authority Dogs". The Divers a complex ranking system, with Black Divers being powerful, elite divers, and with Diver Apprentices making up the lower rungs, and also having Diver Journeymans as their mid ranks, being stronger both mentally and physically that Diver Apprentices but weaker than Black Divers. Despite this, its suspected they have more ranks within the divers, such as captains, professors, scouts, and so on... (Akira) The yearly death rate is 98% of new recruits. (Karliah) To enlist into becoming a Diver, the individual must complete a variety of trials, called "The Citadel Trials". It is likely that Karliah obtained the Citadel Trials in Markor Citadel, located in the Central Luminant. It's possible that as a Deepbound you are in the 1st layer to complete your Markor Citadel trials as proving your worth surviving in the 1st layer. The other possibility is that you already completed them and your first mission is getting a post in Castle light, in the 1st layer. The Divers can travel between the boundaries of the Luminant and The Depths by using caverns that are deep enough to travel to The Depths, or use elevators constructed by them. Similar to how the Ignition Union has a drill to get to the Second Layer, using it like a elevator. Black Divers consist of a variety of individuals, from those who have created or provided a special service, such as Doctor Carrion for his development of Monster Mantras, or for their sheer power, like Chaser, Klaris and Akira. Black Divers are allowed more freedom than their lower-ranked peers. This can be both a blessing and a curse for the organization, as Divers like Carrion can act without restriction, but it also leads to them prioritizing their own goals over those of the Divers.
The Divers are a faction implanted in The Central Luminant at the Island of Markor. Formally known as 'The Citadel Divers', they are a sub-division of the Citadel of Markor, and their primary field of operation is The Depths, where they are focused on the traversal and research of the realm, discovering and reporting valuable data to The Citadel. They were founded in 57 CE (Citadel Era) by the High Convocation of the Citadel, the governing council of the Citadel of Markor. The first leader of the Divers organisation was Deukalion Akarad, affectionately known as "Father Diver", who was assigned to train a core of field researchers and agents who would be sent to The Depths.
Their stated purpose is to learning to better understand The Depths in order to combat their expansion, and protect the surface from the creatures of the Deep. The Divers consist of a variety of ranks given to each and every diver based on their strength and knowledge; the standard Diver is the vast majority of the Divers, typically normal scholars and researchers who are interested in various facets of the world. They do not typically live long and make up about 95% of the Divers. The other 5% consist of more powerful Divers including Black Divers, which are prestigious and extremely strong individuals who appear very few in every generation of Divers. They assist the Divers by taking on foes a normal Diver wouldnโt be able to handle, typically representing one squad of normal Divers on their own. Notable Black Divers include Amorus Pleeksty, who keeps very loose relations with the Divers, and Akira. The Divers utilize the Song to fight primarily when their lives are in danger, but some Divers are selfish and do not hesitate to fight for their own research and interest, even against other Divers. Therefore, there is frequent conflict within the ranks.
Karliah: A young, new recruit of The Divers. She lives in Etrea and is set to go on her first mission at Erisia, in which the player can participate. Her fate is left at the disclosure of the player depending on their choice.
Akira: An Etrean with the rank of Black Diver. He is a part of the organization for almost 10 years now. He wields a katana and possess a unique Bell, whose ability is reminiscent of YunโShulโs head-exploding power. He can be located in The Depths by a tree and a ruined building, reading his book. He will be interrupted by a group of Ignition Soldiers, whom he dispose of with relative ease. The player can talk to him and, with the right dialogue options, be allowed to join The Divers guild (optional) and unlock the Deepbound origin if they can reach him at Castle Light.
Amorus Pleeksty: As a former Black Diver, Pleeksty still kept loose connections with the Divers but mainly pursued his individual research until he went missing. He is currently residing in the third layer of the Depths. He consumed a part of the Drowned god of fire Korilfiend in the form of a flower, causing him to ascend to a near-godlike state. This newfound enlightenment allowed him to become the first Flamecharmer. He would then go on to establish a group known as โThe Covenant of Flame,โ a group of passionate Flamecharmers who wish to follow the same path as Amorus Pleeksty, almost religiously studying his books and practicing his teachings such as the Flame Within. Pleeksty, however, only sees them as a fan club. Despite his tremendous power and age, he is described as a "chill" guy, meaning that if anyone encounters him, Pleeksty will most likely be very amicable.
Chaser, Scholar of the Burning Blood: Chaser is an Adretian Black Diver who secretly possess the gift of hemokinesis, granted to him by the Second Prophet of the Ministry in order to achieve his true goals. He was a Black Diver that volunteered to lead an expedition into the Second Layer but would later reveal that he had betrayed the Divers long ago. With the assistance of the native Kyrsgarde, Chaser murdered all the Divers who went on him in the original expedition he was a part of. He then slaughtered the other Divers that were involved in expeditions following that one.
Carrion, Father of Evolution (Dr. Diver): Carrion (also referred to as โDr Diverโ) is a Ganymede Black Diver who is very skilled in terms of alchemy and science, being able to give people the abilities of certain monsters at the cost of the corresponding creatureโs organs. Despite being a Black Diver, he is also the leader of The Apothecary, a group based on the creation and research of potions and some other scientific topics. This branch was later excommunicated from the Divers due to the actions of an undisclosed individual. He is not a combatant, rather a scientist. His objective is to create the Moonseye Vigor and be able to "transcend" everyone by drinking this potion. Carrion already drank a prototype of the Moonseye Vigor, which drove him to insanity, along with giving him green eyes. He is currently residing in Castle Light but can also be seen in the Great Library of New Kyrsa, probably researching to create a new Moonseye Vigor. Apparently, he doesn't care much for the events of The Second Layer, instead choosing to prioritize his research of the Vigor rather than preventing the awakening of a drowned god that could destroy Lumen. This characteristic, alongside Klarisโ dialogue about him, tells us that Carrion prioritizes his research above everything else, giving little to no care about any major events in the game that doesn't assist his studies.
Mark Adaset: An Adretian clad in Diver Journeyman robes who acts as Caste Light's caretaker.
Klaris Llfiend, Mother of Lights: A Canorian Black Diver who resides in Castle Light. Apparently, she was trained underneath a Lightkeeper. She is able to give the player the Dawnwalker Oath should they have the requirements. She also gives the player a Light Hook as they are transported to Second Layer. She is one of the strongest Divers.

Their previous home, or some soft of outpost, was located in Erisia, by the name of The Hidden Village, indicated by similar architecture and the fountain located there. Their level of technology is far greater than most of their rivals, such as the makings of Hive Constructs, laboratories, and the invocation of green fountains. Currently at war with Etris, this is possibly due to the Etreans trying to steal their Lifeweave artifacts for Lord Regents own interests. Apparently the Hive has great interest in an alliance with the Children of Navae, having one of their representatives in Meteor Isle, to discuss a possible alliance between them. The Hive protects green artifacts, similar to fragments of The Forge, against the Kingdom of Etrea. This could be a way that they "feed" off of Starswept to sustain their Greathive. They seem to have ranks such as Drone, Adjudicator and Tactician. The Hive has Lifeweavers within their ranks, individuals who utilized the song to manipulate and transfer life. They were initially the only users of the Ironsing attunement, killing off anyone else who used it until Adar, Master of Metal, escaped to the Ignition Union. Their society is structured like insects, using terms such as Hive and Drone. The Authority are not at war with the Hive, though tensions are very high between the two and lethal skirmishes aren't uncommon.
Greathive Aratel is a small island with a massive tree flooded on top of it. Inside this tree is a large settlement, the Greathive itself.
Everyone inside Greathive Aratel is a Hivekin (Vesperian, Ganymede, or Chrysids)
The Hive is a faction that operates in their territory Greathive Aratel, which is located in the upper north of Aratel Island.
The Hive was founded by the ancestors of the Vesperians and Ganymedes, also known as the Hivelords. Statues of them have been built in honor at the entrance of The Lordsgrove to commemorate their efforts in creating and advancing the Hive.
The Hive uses an unobtainable oath known as Lifeweaving. It is used to "give life" by creating Hive Constructs, possibly teleporting shrines and fixed campfires around Greathive Aratel. In addition to that, Kaab, the shipwright of Greathive Aratel states that he is able to "Lifeweave modifications" onto ship vessels, showing off how technologically advanced this faction is.
They frequently get into battles with Etrea, who attempt to steal their Lifeweaving artifacts at Lord Regent's request.

Before the Tides: Before years were invented (Old World) City of Celtor Lore Sources: Area descriptions
Before the Tides, The City of the Drowned was once an above ground citadel, occupied by the great Nation of Celtor. Judging by its preserved conditions, The City of Celtor was prosperous and presumably famous for its Marketplace and Trade. It is unknown what purpose the cathedral would have served in a time before the tides, or if it even existed. The Cathedral of the Interstice may have formerly been one of the Interstitial Lighthouses due to the similarity between the names of the structures.
The Old Texts Lore Sources: The Condemned Archives (Description)
An assortment of History written in glyphs or in books. It is unknown if it can be found in the world of Deepwoken, but NPCs managed to discover them. (The Condemned Archives) A forbidden store of Old World Texts once deemed to be too dangerous for common consumption. It is unknown where this Archive is located, but its safe to assume we are not meant to figure it out. The Origin of Adrets Lore Sources: Ishan, Weapon Descriptions.
The Adret have no ties with any sort of Animal, unlike the rest of the Races (Felinors are Felines, Canors are Dogs, Vesperians are Beetles, etc.) This seems to be many races main point of contention with them, viewing them as alien. Contrary to popular belief, this means that the Adret aren't fish, either. Ishan, an Etrean man located within the Stronghold of Summer Isle states that the Adrets appeared out of almost nowhere, this is due to the Adrets traditionally being an isolationist mountain folk who did not interact with other races before the great tides came, though now with the peaks of their tallest mountains long but drowned the Adrets have come out to the greater world. Canors were once a major part of the Authority's fighting force, which may be a reference to the close relationship between dog and man. The Authority is comprised mainly of Adrets, which could be a metaphor for humanity's desire for war and conquest. Their names are tied to rocks, suggesting that while other races worshipped animals, the Adret are tied to the land. A theory stated as "close", says that the Adrets created a hereditary vow with Celestials, instead of animals like the rest of the Races did, explaining their unique appearance.
Currency Lore Sources: Mr. Quarters
A currency predating Notes that used coins existed before the Tides came. A measurement of these was quarters.

An era where the people of the Old World has utilized the Song into making Attunements and magicks; and eventually the downfall of their own. The Canticlysm led to the creation of the 4 Basic Attunements - Thundercall, Flamecharm, Frostdraw and Galebreathe. The Canticlysm led to a Golden Age in Deepwoken's world, but also made said world highly volatile, most of the inventions that ran on the power of the Song being liable to turn to lethal if not used properly. The people of the Canticlysm used the Song, unknowingly endangered all life - stirring the Drowned Gods from their slumber. The Tides Lore Sources: Studies on Canticlysm, Vol. IV, What Mends Shall Fray (Song)
Also known as The Waves, The Tides is a world-scale catastrophe that drowned the Old World after the Canticlysm; leading to the beginning of Deepwoken. The Tides were caused by the Drowned Gods; who were nearly awaken from their slumber by the people of the Canticlysm via the sound of the Song. The Tide also drew the Voidsea much closer to the Luminants, making it a gateway to both worlds between the surface and The Depths, as well as drawing the Voidfog in.
Although they are ancient enemies of the Drowned Gods, Celestials are not entities similar to them. They have actual corporeal forms, for one, and their power shrinks in comparison to that of the Drowned Gods. Numerous celestials were worshipped as Gods by different cultures, and imparted lasting effects on Lume
The Lightborn are considered to be fragments of the once great gods up above, hybrids formed from humans and celestials. In recent times, a family of these people known as the Spellhardts had come forth within the Eastern Luminant, rumored to be housing themselves within a mighty castle in the sky. Although they are of Celestial origin, their reputation among the people is questioned quite often due to their less than favorable actions. Little is known about their culture and beliefs, but they are known to punish those who are tempted by Drowned Gods, exiling them from their community. The Lightborn alongside the Celestials were apparently in a war against the drowned gods and the Depths itself. Apparently they "lost" the motivation to fight when the Celestial fled from the war, resulting in many of their cities being consumed by The Depths.
They are also immortal, meaning that they can be thousands of years old. Also possibly meaning that if someone has this race, they cannot have age tiers like a normal player, not being able to gain wrinkles or any age indicator due to being immortals.
Consuming the blood, or possibly other body parts, of a celestial transforms you into an other-wordly angel-like creature -- a Starkindred The Celestial City has been long destroyed, likely as a result of their long war with the Drowned Gods The children of Celestial and Man form the Lightborn The Ancient Rotlands were "once home to a fallen Celestial," likely the one in the church The meteors that contain stone knights probably fall from the Celestial City, implying a further connection.
Celestials command the song in a different way than players, although the exact methodology is unknown.

Glittering towers of ivory that hang over Lumen's seas.
The home of Celestials and Lightborns. After the tides, the city was forced to evacuate. Its forebearers, soldiers fighting against the Depths, lost their morale after the Celestials fled. The Kyrsans, under Ethiron's will, raided the city, which could explain why there are fallen shards surrounding the towers within the maw of Ethiron.
โ Every flickering light in the sky. All along, they were the ruins of long dead civilisations. A skeleton of shimmering pearl stretching out across the night sky. Keys: Enchanting, Enchants, enchants, enchant, Enchanted, Song, Enemies, fighting, swords, weapons
Enchantments are powerful upgrades for your Weapons & Equipment.
There are two variants that enchantments come in:
Blessing - They have an effect with little to no downsides. Curse - They have an effect along with a downside with the severity depending on the upside.
In lore, not much is known about Enchants in general. They are able to be found in 'stone' forms in the Depths. Also seem to have a hive connection as Laplace (Ganymede in the Greathive Aratel) calls equipment enchants 'misplaced' hive stuff. Thought, if you give him 3 pieces of enchanted equipment, he will offer to enchant your weapon with a random enchantment, When that happens, green particles surround the weapon. That hints that lifeweave may have something to do with it.
Example of 'blessing' enchantments on weapons:
On hit, set your enemy on fire (per-victim cooldown of 2 seconds). This can be used to trigger Flamecharm talents. Lava Serpent will create an explosion instead of creating a fire.
Weapon is charred brown and covered in orange flames. The enchantment and resulting flames will be blue if you have Azure Flames. Enchant Chilling
Chilling Weapon deals 4% more dmg on each hit. After hitting a target (Guns: 5, LHT: 7, MED: 4, HVY: 3) times, apply Bottom Freeze, negating all movement (7 second cooldown). If the user has Crystallization, apply an ice crystal. Can only apply a total of 1 crystal. Cannot apply any more crystals until the crystals break. This applies a 0.4 second chill effect (only without crystal).
Weapon turns completely light blue and is covered in a light blue mist. Enchant Deferred
Deferred Weapon deals 1.07x damage over time. The victim takes 1/10 of the initial damage every 0.25s 10 times. Every hit after the initial hit bypasses iframes.
Weapon turns completely black and is covered in a red and yellow haze. Detonationgif
Detonation After hitting a target (Rapier/Guns: 5, LHT: 7, MED: 4, HVY: 3) times they explode, dealing an additional 16-20 damage to them and others around beside the user. The damage from explosions is not effected by damage modifiers and bypasses armor.(doesnt knock back) All critical attacks only apply 1 stack of detonation and you cannot gain stacks from hitting knocked players. Explosions can execute.
Weapon turns orange, depending on material. Metal and Blade parts become a glowing orange that gives off particles. Enchant Elastic
Elastic On hit, a pink string connecting the weapon and your target will appear, pulling the target towards you (doesn't work with bullets).

More testing required to confirm how much hits it takes for light to proc Grim.
Weapon turns completely black and is covered in a black and light red mist. Enchant Harrowing
Harrowing Coats the enemy's posture, health, and armor bar in a purple and orange pattern, which hides how full or empty each bar is. This effect lasts for 4 seconds. Can only be obtained from the Hallowtide event.
Weapon turns translucent and emits purple smoke with orange-ish particles. Enchant Heroism
Heroism When above 75% HP: gain 4% damage for every 5% HP above 75% HP. (20% more damage at 100% HP) When below 25% HP: gain 4% damage for every 5% HP below 25% HP. (20% more damage at 0% HP) In PVE the damage buff is 0.25x the damage buff in PVP (8% - > 2%, 20% - > 5%).
Weapon turns completely yellow and is covered in a yellow glow. Enchant Metal
Metal On hit, steal some of the target's equipment durability and add it to your own. Works on any enemies/monsters with armor.
Weapon takes on a metallic texture. Enchant Nemesis
Nemesis On hit, a red eye marker is placed on the enemy for 15 seconds. Using your critical while the marker is present teleports you to the enemy and the usual critical becomes a katanaโs. Nemesis critical can still trigger critical talents like bear trap, manipulator, etc. The range of this is 65-70 studs
The weapon's metallic parts take on a rose color and emit rose-colored eye particles. Enchant Obfuscation

The PEN it gives also counts for mantra damage and it bypasses the 50% PEN cap. Lose thirst equal to 20% of damage taken.
Weapon glows yellow and gives off yellow particles. Enchant Solar
Solar Applies a Solar Mark on flourish or (most) critical attacks. Solar Mark last 10s, and reduces tempo gain/ether regeneration. Venting steals a portion of marked enemies tempo.
Weapon turns orange with bright orange particles orbiting it. Enchant Stone
Stone Posture damage is increased. Scales off weapon damage. Deal bonus damage on a posture break. Scales linearly with weapon damage.[2]
Metal parts are covered in a stone texture.
Storm On proc, stun with a short cooldown, visualized by a purple lightning after-shock. By having the Surge Path: Unstable Capacitor talent, your m1s will no longer stun your opponent but will add rods to them. In the rain, M1 connections will also summon a bolt of lightning on the opponent, increasing damage by 17.5%.
Weapon takes on a purple hue, with the blade being more noticeable. Covered in swirly purple and thunder effects.
Stormbreaker Effects of the storm enchant with a unique critical that throws your weapon towards your cursor, ragdolling and striking targets with thunder. Oath Lore Oaths are a peculiar topic to discuss in the world of Deepwoken. Fundamentally, they differ from any conventional means of deriving power from concepts and objects in the world of Deepwoken, hence why or how Oath magic manifests is largely a mystery with, unfortunately, not a lot of answers to. In mainstream sense, Oaths are described as to being a category of their own, that being 'Oath Magic', which suggests that they fundamentally differ from Mantras or Resonances in terms of how they function, what it is and was.
Oaths, as it is observed, are acquired when one pledges their soul to a certain cause, or a particular ideal, granting them powers that align with achieving said cause and ideals. This process will 'bind' their soul to the cause. Despite technically being a category of it's own, most 'Oath Magic' are still referred to as Mantras, suggesting that perhaps Oath Magic is a mere sub-category of the song, similar to Murmurs and Resonances. A keeper of an Oath would strengthen their powers by a reinforcement of their beliefs in the form of completing tasks relative to the Oath, affirming their role and ideals in the process.
It is unknown how Oath Magic manifests itself - in other words - get created. But it is widely observed that Oaths can be granted through a variety of means, as long as a process of binding one's soul is present. This allow Oaths to be granted through static, and active means. This is evident through the fact that the player is able to acquire Oaths either through an object of power such as Linkstrider or Blindseer, or through someone of the same likeness like Fadetrimmer and Contractor. A universal theme within these examples is that Oaths can only be acquired through something or someone who also posses aspects of said Oath.
Breaking an Oath is a topic that isn't well understood thanks to it's lack of examples in the Deepwoken world, but under certain conditions, this can be granted. Oathless, being an Oath of contradictory value, can be unbound through the assistance of Yun'Shul's communion. Though the fact that one would require otherworldly powers to break off from an Oath highly suggests that an individual would be incapable of breaking off from an Oath without special measures.
People that don't have an oath/are still looking for one are called Pathfinders (Not to be confused with Oathless)

Keys: Blindseer, Blindseers, blindseer
lindseer People who make an Oath to seek the truth of the Deepwoken world by rejecting their sight, protecting them from the horrors of the world. This Oath is associated with the fact that Humans, being one of the weaker entities in the world, are highly vulnerable to the effects of insanity, where most of seek out the secrets of the sea will almost-certainly be driven to insanity by the truths that they come to learn. A Blindseer becomes stronger as they free lost souls (pathfinders) from the Depths via the Depth trials. This is due to the fact that their duty entails protecting others from the horrors of the waking world, and to guide those who are not capable of tackling such a feat back to their lives ignorant to what lies below. Blindseers are not required to be naturally blind. As long as their vision is obscured, the effects of the Oath will manifest. Blindseers lose their vision in exchange for an alternate form of vision. To the player, this is the blue-vision they receive while being blinded with the Oath, though whether this is the result of drastically heightened perception, or a literal alternate vision for them, is unknown. The lost of vision and heightened sanity does not equal to immunity towards insanity. Blindseers are still prone to the effects of insanity as they are still human.
Upon inspecting this glyph with the Oath, it notably mentions not-so-subtly that the duty of your Oath is to "Free the lost souls from their shackles, help them escape into the light." This, of course, references the fact you have to help Pathfinders in the Depths trial to progress the Oath.

The sanity cost is only deducted on a succesful heal. Obtainment: 1 Pathfinder helped in the Depth Trial (must be alive)
Tranquil Circle - Support Mantra Disables mantras from being used in its radius. This affects everybody, including the caster and their allies. Bosses are immune to the silencing aspect. While inside the circle, gain total immunity to mantra damage. Obtainment: 3 Pathfinders helped in the Depth Trial (must be alive)
Sightless Beam - Combat Mantra Fires a high pressure beam from your eyes. The entire beam deals around 260 damage. With extra damage and posture dealt at the start of the beam. Sightless beam can be canceled midway by pressing F. Steals eyesight proccing the blind effect if enough hits land. Has a high windup. Hard to parry, entirely blockable. Can be used to bait vents by staying at a distance. Deals bonus damage to any monsters from the Depths family (Gigameds, Crustaceous Rex, Nautilodaunt, Enforcer). Nautilodaunt and Enforcer are very likely to just block the entire beam. It is adviced to get a friend to distract them. You can run during the windup, but can only walk while the beam is active. Visionshapers made a vow to the Nestmind, the "Mother/father" of all owls. Despite having great powers of reality bending, all Visionshapers are doomed to become food for the Nestmind. Due to the fact that the Nestmind appears to be an entity that sustains itself through consuming (but not exclusively) human thought and concepts, hence only those who has a sophisticated enough mind is fit to be developed for consumption. One notorious user of the Visionshaper Oath is Aelita, due to her magenta eyes and clone abilities, also that you need to interact with her to get the Oath. 'Notorious' in the sense that she plays tricks with people who are, most likely, stranded on the harsh environments of Minitrysia, and sends them to their death whenever they don't play along. Likely resulting in many unwarranted deaths.

Clones disappear if caster takes any kind of damage. Duration scale with your progress of the Visionshaper Oath. Clones do apply hitstun, allowing one to trip up enemies and possibly fail parries. This mantra is similar to lightning clones, although it works slightly different in execution (Lightning clones dissapear after being hit or hitting once) also Lightning clones and Illusory Servants can be used together. Illusory Realm - Support Mantra After a slight delay, teleport you and a nearby players in an alternate dimension for about 20 seconds. (44 seconds with 3 eternal and aeon logstones) Cooldown is 2 minutes and 40 seconds. Cannot be used in water or Guildbases. When Illusory Realm ends, players recover a portion of HP lost while inside. The user recover 60% of HP lost, while everyone else recover 40%. Important Note: Players cannot be knocked in the realm, instead, if knocked, they immediately die. Illusory Servants and Cheap Trick deal full real damage while inside the realm (which are still healed accordingly when the realm end). If any of the following conditions are met, Illusory Realm ends early: If the user fails to catch someone in the realm, they will be brought back after 5 seconds If the user start resting or runs too far away from the realms entrance, it ends immediatly Warrior's Respite is disabled while you have a realm active. Illusory Counter - Combat Mantra Do a pose. If hit during the pose, negate the attack, swap places with the user, and spawn a Visionshaper Clone in place of your previous location. Counter time can be extended with Mantra modifications. Reflect any effect that would have been applied by the attack (like fire, which will burn the attacker instead). Active frames are larger while in the Illusory Realm. Unlike the intelligence mantra Prediction, you retain control of your character during the pose and the attacker/you are moved instead of reflecting damage. Mirage From the Deep - Passive While in the Illusory Realm, press X to leave early. This will cost 10% of your current HP (and immediately heal back to 4% of it) and leave the victim with a monster from The Depths for the remaining duration. The monster can be a: Nautilodaunt, Megalodaunt, King Thresher or Deep Owl. Cheap Trick - Passive When hit while below 50% health, turn invisible and summon an Illusory Servant that follows the same rules as an active one summoned by Illusory Servants. (exactly 30s cooldown, tested.) Become invisible for 2.5 seconds whenever you knock an enemy. (grants iframes for the duration of the effect.)
As for appearance, it changes the eye color of the Oath taker to purple and creates a wispy ethereal particle effect which stems from the user's right eye.
Despite 'having an oath' with the nestmind, Owls will still atack them. And they must bring their feathers to progress the oath and get their abilities
- #41Oathlessselective
Keys: Oathless, Oath, oath
Oathless People who swore themselves to never be bound by an Oath, granting them a convincing illusion of freedom. Due to the contradictory value of the Oath, it is believed that 'Oathless' is one of the weaker Oaths in the Deepwoken world. It is worth noting that while it is true that the notion of the Oath is contradictory, this does not subvert it's effects. In other words, the Oath matches it's vows, hence the relevancy of it's legitimacy is not affected since it is the notion and illusion that matters, as long as such a notion isn't shattered. It is the only Oath that the Drowned God Yun'shul is able to unbound from a person. While most may agree that the reason behind this is due to the Oath's beliefs can be easily shaken, others view this as being due to the fact that Oathless is an Oath that is worthy of the attention and caution of a greater entity such as Yun'Shul. Apparently, enough to warrant direct interference from them in order to erase the bindings of this oath from a person.
As for its appearance, nothing is added to your outfit making it impossible to tell if a person has oathless or not.

โ This is our path then, my friendly nemesis! To be a Jetstriker, one who walks with the Song's flow itself.. ah, it's so freeing. โ โ Alirian
Jetstriker People who swore an Oath to flow with the Song and being its conductor. Keepers of this Oath are alternative called 'Windrunners' due to their sheer speed, and likeness with aspects of the Wind. (Not to be confused with the Gale) It is likely that some members of the Vigils swore this Oath, due to one of their abilities having its name while being learned at their temple. Jetstrikers are granted powers to manipulate their physical form to travel along with the Wind, along with several other powers that allows them to traverse far distances and overcome great peaks.
Your eyes turn white with a hint of blue.
Alirian will ask of you to find and bring her 5 Orbs scattered in the Etrean Luminant. This can be done at any order, and each Orb will grant you one Talent. (Talents obtained in the same order, no matter of the obtainment order of the Orbs) (Oath progress)
- #43Linkstriderselective
Keys: Linkstrider, oath, Oath
โ The machina hisses ominously against the nature surrounding it, standing as a protest against life itself. โ โ The Entropy Catalyst
People who have made an Oath to try to "fix" this "fragile world" with their powers becoming the support of their allies. Linkstriders wield parasitic powers, being able to steal the life, or heal people with their symbiotic powers. It is known this Oath is tied to the Celestials/Stars similar to the Starkindreds, due to the Linkstriders being able to teleport between the meteorites found across the Eastern Luminant, while also at the same time the ritual to become a Linkstrider has the marks of the Moonseye and the Sun, which are marks of Celestials.
Entropy Catalyst Method: Get 4 different players with Oaths. Take them to The Entropy Catalyst Knock all 4 players. Put them in the slot, which will sacrifice them. Since you are in a voidzone, they will be sent to the depths. Interact with the white orb that appears in the middle. Pristine Lotus Method. Collect 4 Pristine Lotuses located around The Entropy Catalyst. Grip 4 players that have an oath (You need to do some damage to the person and get the credit like bounties. Can be the same player over and over again, tested.) Upon gripping a player with an Oath, one of your Pristine Lotuses will be converted to a Scarlet Lotus. Return 4 Scarlet Lotuses to The Entropy Catalyst. The only way to obtain each ability is to grip a player with an Oath, this however does not need to be done with The Entropy Catalyst, you get the Entropy Link on the first grip, Then Symbiotic Link second, Symbiotic Sustain on the Third And finally Parasitic Leech on the fourth grip.
As for appearance, it grants its users a blue necklace and turns their irises a light cyan.

โ THE PATH YOU CHOOSE TO FOLLOW IS WROUGHT WITH LIES. DECEIT. YOU ARE THE TRUE FOOLS, PLAYING AS GOD. โ โ Iblis, The Fallen Angel
The counterpart to Deepwoken, those who have consumed a piece of a Celestial, binding them to the skies rather than the tides.[1] It is known that they "Feel all at once", probably feeling the connection they made with the Celestial. Alternatively, this may be due to the fact that Celestials being beings of a much higher status thanks to the history of the civilization, and the otherworldly powers and knowledge they bring, allowing those who partook in the Starkindred Oath to get a fraction of what a Celestial is capable of feeling and knowing. The strength of a single Starkindred isn't universal. This is due to the fact that the extent of their powers are directly tied to the Celestial that they consumed. The Starkindred path available to the player is likely not the most powerful one as aside from granting the ability of wing manifestation and some mantras, does not provide anything else further. It is very much plausible that consuming other Celestials such as Alsin or Navae may yield different, and even greater powers. As stated by Ezra, a worshipper of the Celestial Ku, the Starkindred have a history of blood and massacre, suggesting that Oath keepers of Starkindred aren't united under a single cause; only partaking the Oath as a greedy attempt to gain power. They operate much like a cult, killing anyone who flies too far from the flock.
Talk to Samael, located in the Derelict Highchurch above the Voidzone in Ancient Rotlands. Walk up to the stairs to the Songseeker Temple and take a left, you'll see a broken bridge. Jump over the bridge to get to the church. When inside, there is a trapdoor behind the podium. Go down the ladder and walk around the library interacting with a red book on a bookshelf; one of them will open a room. Kill Iblis, The Fallen Angel , located above the Starfield Grove Voidzone in Starswept Valley. The angel will only be here if you have the quest active.
To obtain the mantras, you must kill the 3 Sinners spread around the East Luminant. These will only appear if you have the quest active. The sinners look just like Angels, but color-coded based on their Attunement and they wear masks.
Abaddon, Sinner of Ice at Starfield Veldt. Minos, Sinner of Flame right next to the inn at Summer Isle. Astaroth, Sinner of Wind, at Songseeker, at the twin derelict bastions. You will get a mantra for each kill, and a chest containing Songseeker loot.
The order of mantras goes as follows: Ascension, Sinister Halo, Celestial Assault.
(Angels mentioned in this oath are the same as the monster: Angels)
Additionally, the Flamecharm Mantra Fire Blade is modified by this Oath, causing the user to periodically rise into the sky, and unleash a screen shaking, heavily enhanced, multi-hitting Fire Blade, several times the size of the original. As for appearance, aside from the wings, a white collar with 4 spikes connected to it will continuously circle around the user's neck.

"You vow to be a shield for your comrades, to wear your regalia with pride and serve the greater collective. From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs."
Arcwarder An Oath taken by those who had proven themselves to be a stalwart spirit that protects others from harm, being the vanguard, the protector, and the shining armor. Primarily acquired by completing deeds of great courage for the Ignition Union, making them indebted to you. It is unknown if this Oath is exclusive to the Ignition Union. It is unknown if this Oath is directly tied to the Arc Suit that comes with the Oath. Those this can potentially be the foundations of the Oath since one can only partake the Oath after being compatible with the Arc Suit. While it is fair to point out that the Arc Suit is just a piece of high-tech armor developed by the Ignition Union, it can be observed that the Arc Suit can only become complete by unlocking it's other modules by 'bonding' with the suit by way of overcoming great feats. This can be further supported by the fact that Arcwarder progression does not necessarily entail protecting others. The Arc Suit itself is summoned by way of Mantra, suggesting that the suit is also a manifestation of the song, rather than being some sort of high-end tech completely.
As for appearance, when casted a suit of armor appears around the user. Certain spots on the helmet and breastplate both glow yellow. The suit also functions as a dim source of light.
Requires both Flamecharm and Thundercall mastery somewhat to be wielded

"You vow to forever reach towards the brilliant Light. There is no shadow that your radiance cannot expunge."
Dawnwalkers are people who swore an Oath with the Black Diver Klaris Llfiend, learning the arts of the Radiant Tones by way of binding themselves to her ways, and using the powers of the Oath to defeat the encroaching darkness of the world. Despite being an Oath, the progression of this Oath seems to be purely transactional as the player can only progress their Oath by exchanging Krysan Medallions to Klaris. It is fair to say that since you've already bound yourself to Klaris' cause, it is only natural that getting stronger is your only concern in order banish darkness from the world. The Oath, despite what is stated by flavor text, doesn't actually operate at Lightspeed
As for appearance, it changes the eye color of the user to white and creates a Moonseye symbol above their head, with a disk spinning around its axis.
Radiant Kick (โ โ โ ) Kick your foes at the speed of light. (Example of a Dawnwalker mantra)
Protagonist Syndrome - Passive: The grasp of shadow is meaningless in the face of your blinding light. Your Dawnwalker mantras are empowered after being hit by Shadowcast. Absolute Radiance - Passive: Dealing damage with Dawnwalker mantras briefly makes you immune to all elemental effects for a short period. While this is active, gain immunity to the following status effects: Burning, Chill, Shock, Suffocate, Blindness, Metal Rod.
The magic that is utilized by the Dawnwalker oath is an attempt at imitating Lightkeeping through the use of Radiant Tones.
- #47Silentheartselective
Keys: Silentheart, Mantras, mantras, Oath, oath, silentheart
Silenthearts are people who have swore an Oath of pure hatred with the souls of the Voidsea to seek revenge against the people who abuse the Song for their own gain, primarily targeting the Masters of elements who teaches their usage of the Song across all Lumen. Silenthearts swore this Oath in search of pure power against the song itself, starting with rejecting the words of the song. As the song directly ties to the soul and heart of a person, their nature is directly manipulated and changed by Dreadstar, barring them from Mantras in exchange for other forms of power. Despite this, it is a common misconception that Silenthearts reject the song. This is not the case as the Song isn't something that can be stamped out. Silenthearts exclusively reject the words of the Song, which are Mantras, vastly different from rejecting the Song entirely. All of their abilities are a usage of the Song, even if it doesn't take the form of mantras.[1] While words of the song are rejected, other forms of application are apparently not a concern to Silenthearts. (And by extension, Dreadstar themselves) Whether or not this is a limit power, or just a bias against people who wield Mantras remains to be seen. (Technically Heavenly Restriction from Jujutsu Kaisen)
โ Your old heart is no more, hateful one. We have exchanged it for one aligned with our ideals, deafened to the chaos of the Song. You are Silent now, hateful one. โ โ The Dreadstar
This oath is upgraded via the killing of Spelltrainers (excluding Regek and Beatra).
This can be done in any order; however, the recommended order is Nell, Friid, Amashi, Funke, Adar, and Nostor due to their positions.
Abilities Merciless Blade - Passive You can now execute enemies much faster. Grip speed is increased by 25% (3 seconds down to 2.25 seconds) Comes with the Oath. Dread Fighter - Passive Parrying, landing criticals, and flourishes now gives you stacks of Dread. Each stack of Dread increases your damage multiplier up to 15%, and mantra resistance up to 25%, however, upon being hit by a Mantra, you lose one stack of Dread. Stacks of dread are represented as a halo that grows from your chest. Each stacks makes the halo larger and raise your mantra resistance. Stacks up to 5 times and each stacks grant 5% mantra resist and 3% damage multiplier. Lodestar - Passive Landing criticals, flourishes, and uppercuts now silences your enemy for 3 seconds, disabling their ability to cast mantras. This silencing effect is represented by a red halo on the affected target (not to be confused with your own dread stacks). Ankle Cutter - Passive M1ing while sliding will now perform a moderately large circular slash. Anyone hit will take damage, a speed debuff, and become unable to jump. Damage and speed of the attack scales on your weapon. Can be used while sliding down slopes at no cost to your speed. 5 seconds cooldown. True Vantage - Passive Successfully landing a Vent briefly gives you invisibility, along with giving a speed boost. This turns your Vents Red which is purely cosmetic. Mani Katti - Passive While you have stacks of Dread (From Dread Fighter), your uppercuts are replaced with a large aoe attack, which teleports to the nearest player, dealing high damage and multiple attacks quickly, while making you invisible. Is activated by using ctrl + M2. While it requires a stack of Dread to be used, it does not COST a stack of Dread. Damage scales on your weapon; light weapons scale harder than heavy weapons, yielding more and less damage respectively. Does not target allies. 12 seconds cooldown. Vengeful Pursuit - Passive Your running attacks that miss send out a mid-range crescent projectile that slows on hit. 6 seconds cooldown.
Silentheart's vow rejects the Words of the Song (Mantra chants). Resonances and Murmurs are not words and thus, are not affected by this Oath.
Appearance: You gain glowing red tattoos coursing over your arms and torso. Your eye color becomes duller and darker.
- #48Contractorselective
Keys: Contractor, Ministry, Drowning, Lord Regent, Prophet, Oath, oath
Contractors (Oath) Contractors are people who had sworn an Oath to any of the Nine Prophets of the Ministry, granting them a fraction of what that Prophet is capable of. The Powers granted to a Contractor are not universal, as swearing the Oath to a different prophet may yield different results. Since the Oath is directly tied to the will of the Prophet, getting stronger meant completing errands for them. In the case of Zi'eer, you are only tasked with banishing those who had sworn servitude under other causes in the Depths. The Oath effectively binds anyone in strict servitude of that Prophet and that Prophet alone. In other words, they become puppets and pawns of the Prophet's will. Similar to how Blindseer and Visionshaper are two Oaths that are against each other. Contractors are a polar opposite Warmasters.
"Your heart is forever now eternally tied to Zi'eer, the 4th Prophet of the Ministry. You swear to serve under his will, no matter what."
Upon obtaining this oath, four black-and-red marionette-esque strings will embed themselves into your arms. Additionally, your irises will become a very dark red, making your expression appear almost empty and devoid of good empathy.
Judgement - Combat Mantra Summons a black casting circle before enveloping your target in black tendrils and tearing them apart. Stuns target in the air for about two seconds, before the Tendrils rip off of them, dealing more damage and blood loss. The user and enemy are both unable to act or move during the animation, and the enemy gains invincibility frames while the animation is active. This also forms a Hidden Tendril on the target. The move will instantly execute if it brings HP to 0. Contractor judgement
Lords Slice - Combat Mantra Makes the Hidden Tendril from 'Hidden Tendril' contract, pulling both the user and enemy closer. They are flung in opposite directions, much further than their original positions, being able to wallbang the enemy if they collide with a surface. After the pull is over, the enemy takes more damage and blood loss. Only usable if the user has the 'Hidden Tendril' Talent, and also has a Hidden Tendril active. Contractor lords slice
Equalizer - Combat Mantra Whips forward with a blue Tendril. If it connects, it deals damage to the target, and gives the user a blue aura. If the user is attacked while they have this blue aura, the attack will be ignored completely and also stun the attacker for about 2 seconds. Unlike Judgement, the user is able to act while the victim is stunned, meaning they can follow it up with anything, including Lord's Slice and Judgement.
In lore Contractor is one of the most cruel, heartless, and emotionless being in the world of Lumen due to them not having free will. This was because they literally giving up their souls and will to the prophet to become their literal living puppets. Also the fact Zi'eer ordered the Contractor player to slay people with oath in depth and accepting it without hint of remorse or questioning its morality is already a hint that the Contractor player has lost part its humanity.

Warmasters. People who have sworn an Oath to the "Circle of Honor". Due to limited information, the terms of the Oath are unknown, though it is likely that the oath is sworn under the pretense of protecting Lumen against the odds. Most Warmasters are members of the Central Authority, for example Warden Jericho being a Warden of the Authority and a Warmaster.[1] Their powers are known to have "Floating blades", being very similar to the ones that the Sand Knights /Storm Knights wield. As stated by the Windrunner, Warmasters and Contractors are Oaths that are against each other, most likely due to the Warmasters trying to save Lumen from a second drowning, while the Contractors seek to being forth another great drowning.

โ Light is to Void as Paint is to a Canvas- it draws out substance. โ โ Nimea Your ability to call upon Light, enlighten those around you and guide others through the darkness.
Description Lightkeep grants the user the ability to call upon their own soul to radiate lights outwards. This ability is assumed to be used as support and for harming. The role of a Lightkeeper is to guide others through the Luminants and endow vessels with their protection. From this, we can extrapolate that is used for protecting others and healing them. Their ability should also be used to blind and illuminate areas.
One of a Lightkeeper's primary characteristics is to re-illuminate long forgotten structures through their Lightkeep. Although never stated, Lightkeep (to retain light), as the antithetical Attunement of Shadowcast (to throw shadows or darken light), that Lightkeep is assumed to be capable of dispelling Shadowcast magic and possible other effects, through purification, similar to the Dawnwalker Oath. Lightkeep is never explictly stated to be light yellow, but is assumed by the general population due to its connections to holiness, purity, and the opposite of deep purple. It could also be rainbow, but more likely colors ranging from white to light purples, blues, and greens. Trivia The magic that is utilized by the Dawnwalker oath is an attempt at imitating Lightkeeping through the use of Radiant Tones. The Lightkeepers' base was located in Starswept Valley; named the Lightkeeper's Temple. As of the Year 1271, it has been buried by the sands of the Valley and is a breeding grounds for Threshers. Though despite the abandonment, the Temple looks to be intact. By Year 1363, a jail cell in it has been torn open, and a connection to the Deep Thresher Nest established. The current Lightkeeper (possibly Viqh) was kidnapped by Etrea to prevent the Authority entering the Etrean Luminant, stalemating a losing war. Lightkeepers are possibly important for nautical travel between luminants. Within the Petra's Anchor's description. It states that the ship 'The Petra' was the only ship that has made the expedition between luminants without any blessing from a Lightkeeper. Klaris, the teacher of the Dawnwalker oath, was possibly able to discover the radiant tones thanks to Viqh, the lightkeeper of the eastern lighthouse, as she stated that, "She learned a lot from her gift" meaning that Viqh possibly taught Klaris to create the Dawnwalker Oath, and as we know that Oath can easily be used as a weapon. Viqh is the currently only known Lightkeeper and childhood friend of Nimea. She taught Klaris the secrets of using Lightkeep to help her develop the radiant tones for Dawnwalker. Lightkeep has no relation to Lightborn. Despite frequent request to add it to the game, Lightkeep is not stated to have any combat application, or indeed, any application outside of illuminating the Voidsea. Ironically, being born with it is almost a disability, as it restricts the users ability to harness the song. Lightkeep is a magic one is born with, therefore it cannot be obtained otherwise.
NOT an attunement. It's a regalia one is born it
Viqh, Lightkeeper of the Eastern Lighthouse "My Burden is Light." -Unknown Lightkeeper.
Currently residing in the Eastern Lighthouse, near miners landing. In charge of connecting the Eastern and Etrean Luminant to the rest of the luminants from the Voidsea. Possible childhood friend of Nimea and possible teacher of Klaris. Her hobby is apparently to write poetry, as stated by Klaris. Apparently she is "preoccupied" due to the ongoing war of the Authority and Etris. As stated by Klaris, she isn't allowed to leave the lighthouse, meaning that she is like imprisoned due to her "gift". Apparently she was taken when she was a child by Etris due to the rarity of her gift to be able to control the Eastern Lighthouse and have an advantage against the war with the Authority, possible being the reason why even though we can cross the lighthouse its apparently not working, meaning that its only used when the Etreans want to operate it. However, this is just speculation with the little information we have from Nimea and Klaris.
