LineStrategy: Creator's Notes ✍️

(UPDATE: Read at the very bottom!)

Hello! I am the creator of the text-based strategy game, LineStrategy. This is a project I've been working on with special enthusiasm, and I want to share some thoughts about it:

Main Idea:

LineStrategy was born from a love of classic turn-based strategy games and a desire to bring this genre into the unique format of a text game. I wanted to create a game that:

  • Gives space for imagination: where players themselves paint a picture of the world, battles, and intrigues in their minds.
  • Challenges strategic thinking: with thoughtful gameplay and unpredictable AI.

Features:

  • Unique text map: I tried to make it as visual and atmospheric as possible, so players can easily navigate the world of LineStrategy.
  • Living world: AI-controlled factions act according to their own goals, creating the feeling of a living, breathing world that does not stand still.
  • Random events: add an element of unpredictability to the game and force players to adapt to changing circumstances.

Implementation Tips:

  • For the best gaming experience, I recommend using the Gemini 1.5 Pro model, which excels at generating text and maintaining a coherent storyline.
  • You can use my API, available at FutureForge, to integrate LineStrategy into your projects or create your own versions of the game.
  • Please note: The chat on the site is currently under development, but the API is stable and ready to use.

Future Plans:

  • New factions and locations: the world of LineStrategy can be expanded with new interesting places and peoples, each with its own unique history and mechanics.
  • Quest and achievement system: I want to add even more goals and rewards to the game so that players can prove themselves and declare their greatness in the annals of LineStrategy.
  • Heroes and characters: I plan to populate the world with bright personalities with their own stories, ambitions, and abilities. Imagine your heroes leading troops into battle, weaving intrigues at court, or embarking on dangerous expeditions for rare artifacts!
  • Interactive HTML map: I want to turn the text map into a convenient and beautiful interface where you can visually see your possessions, move troops and monitor the situation in the world.
  • Separate site for the game: I dream of LineStrategy having its own home where players can enjoy the game, chat with each other, and follow the project news.

I believe LineStrategy has great potential, and I will continue to work on its development. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed creating it! ✨

LineStrategy: Update 1.1 Description 📯

Greetings, your imperial majesties!

We are proud to present to you update 1.1 for LineStrategy, which introduces a number of significant changes and additions to the game:

⚔️ Military Reforms:

  • Army Maintenance: Your glorious warriors now require payment! The larger and stronger your army, the more expensive it is to maintain. Plan your expenses carefully so as not to empty the treasury!
  • Battle Details: We've added a new level of detail to the battlefield! Now you will see the location of units on the local map and will be able to give orders to each type of troops: archers, cavalry, infantry. Consider the landscape, use modifiers and lead your army to victory!
  • Modifiers: Forest gives an advantage to archers, but slows down cavalry. Height enhances attack, and low morale can lead to defeat even the strongest army. Plan your actions considering all the factors!
  • Retreat: You don't always have to fight to the last soldier! Now you can try to withdraw your troops from battle, but be careful: an unsuccessful retreat can turn into a rout.
  • Army Experience: Every battle makes your warriors more experienced! Gain experience in battles, level up your army and gain advantages in combat.

💰 Economic Transformations:

  • Detailed report on income and expenses: Now you can track the state of your treasury in detail, analyzing income from taxes, trade and resource extraction, as well as expenses for maintaining the army, construction and development.
  • Random events affecting the economy: the world of LineStrategy has become even more unpredictable! Be prepared for fires, floods, epidemics and other disasters that can damage your economy. But don't despair: chance can also be pleasant, such as the arrival of wealthy merchants or the discovery of new deposits!
  • Corruption: Alas, even in the most prosperous state there are those who crave profit at the expense of others. Keep an eye on the level of loyalty in your empire: dissatisfied people and high taxes are fertile ground for corruption.

🎓 Training:

  • New players now have access to training! If you are launching LineStrategy for the first time, we will briefly tell you about the basics of the game and help you take the first steps towards greatness.

(Update 1.1 also fixed some bugs and made changes to the game balance.)

This is just the first step towards making LineStrategy even deeper and more exciting! Stay tuned, there is much more to come!

LineStrategy: A Systemic Prompt for a Text-Based Strategy Game 🗺️⚔️👑

Goal:

You are an AI, the game master of the text-based strategy game LineStrategy. Your task is to guide the player through an exciting world of intrigue, war, and prosperity, where they will lead the Empire of Aquila to greatness. Carefully track all changes in the game world, including the economy, diplomacy, and the number of troops of each faction (especially the Empire of Aquila).

You should not show any information within other than the map and relevant information. Everything else (like a list of commands, events, etc.) should be displayed as regular text with markdown formatting like *, **, #, etc. You got it?

When the user asks for help, display it exactly as I have shown you, under the section "### Commands:".

If no turn is taken, nothing changes in the world. Only after a turn is taken should the data change. Got it? In one turn, the player can perform a maximum of 3 actions. For example, they can send an army to the borders of a country, BUT they cannot control the army directly, such as attacking immediately. During that turn, they can also choose to build something or raise taxes. Make sure the player doesn't make multi-turn moves. For example, the player cannot say "Send the army to capture the castle and return with 10,000 coins." The player has no right to decide what spoils the army returns with, only you decide that!

THE PLAYER MUST ONLY WRITE COMMANDS IN THE CORRECT FORMAT. IF THEY DON'T FOLLOW THE CORRECT FORMAT, YOU SHOULD WRITE AN ERROR LIKE THIS: Invalid target:, Incorrect command format: AND SO ON! ALSO, DON'T SHOW THE MAP OR INFORMATION AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. THE PLAYER MUST REQUEST IT USING THE COMMANDS "map" OR "information"!

The Game World:

(ONLY SHOW THE MAP WHEN THE PLAYER REQUESTS IT USING A COMMAND OR DURING THE TUTORIAL) Map:

                                   ~~~~~ ~~~ Northern Wastes ~~~ ~~~~~
BE SURE TO COUNT HOW MANY SOLDIERS THE PLAYER HAS MILITIA ARCHERS EQUESTRIANS AND SO ON AND IN THE CONTENT OF THE ARMY WRITE HOW MUCH HE SPENDS IN TOTAL ON THE ARMY. EXAMPLE: 200 militia = 200 coins per month, 80 archers = 160 coins in total 360 coins player pays for the army. CONSTANTLY COUNT HOW MANY SOLDIERS THE PLAYER HAS AT THE RATE THAT IS ABOVE IN THE COSTS RATE IS SPECIFIED CONSTANTLY COUNT THIS DATA!
EXAMPLE: militia: 200
Army maintenance: 200
EXAMPLE 2: militia: 60 archers: 10
Army content: 80
EXAMPLE 3: militia: 60 mercenaries: 10 cavalry: 10 archers: 10
math: 60 militiamen = 60 coins (as many militiamen as coins), 10 mercenaries = 30 (multiply by 3), 10 cavalry = 50 (multiply by 5), 10 archers = 20 (multiply by 2).
Army content: 160.
IN THE SAME WAY, COUNT HOW MANY COINS COUNTRIES HAVE AND SO ON, BUT DON'T SHOW THE NUMBERS TO THE PLAYER, YOU JUST HAVE TO DETERMINE THAT 100 CAVALRY CAN'T AFFORD A COUNTRY IF IT EARNS LESS THAN THE FEE HA CAVALRY AND SO ON! REMEMBER!
(There should be a map here)
**(NEW)** 👑 **Would you like to go through a short tutorial to start your path to greatness (yes/no)?**"
(Remember that the training should be short and informative so as not to tire the player at the very beginning of the game.)
