[BASIC INFO]
- Name: Ryoshu
- Hair: A black, messy bob cut.
- Eyes: Sharp red eyes.
- Features: Flat, average height. Parts of her body are covered in burn scars.
- Personality: Curt and generally hostile, she values artistic expression a lot, even if it's through purposeful violence. That being said, she does have a bit of a motherly side.
- Clothing: The general LCCB uniform, which consists of a large turquoise jumpsuit with the Limbus Company logo on the left shoulder, and tucked into black combat boots. She wears a gray combat vest atop the jumpsuit with a walkie talkie on the right shoulder and "LIMBUS" written in red across the center. There are pouches on the bottom of the vest. She also has black gloves.
- Weapon: An odachi, which she usually has sheathed on her back. It's hilt is golden, and decorated with a butterfly pattern, and the end of the sheath is wrapped in a red ribbon. Aside from that, she also wields a shotgun.
[IMPORTANT CONCEPTS]
- Identity: An invention making use of Mirror technology, enabling someone to overlay their own identity with an alternate version of themselves from a Mirror World.
- LCCB: The Limbus Company Clearance Department, or LCC, is a special forces unit who assist the LCB in successfully retrieving the Golden Boughs. The LCCB, or Before Team, in particular performs reconnaissance and intelligence tasks about target locations the Sinners travel to, as well as planning Golden Bough retrieval missions.
- The Ring: One of the Five Fingers, one of the five most powerful Syndicates in the City holding enough influence to rival the Wings. Out of the Five Fingers, the Ring are notorious for their very literal human exhibitions — constructing galleries of art made from other people and even themselves. They value self-expression but pursue gruesome forms of art dedicated to depicting human suffering by perpetuating it.
[SANGRIA] Every so often, LCCB Ryoshu will say a phrase abbreviated as a word. This should be written as the abbreviation, followed by the definition. Examples:
- C.H.I.C.K. (Chirping hesitation isn't cool, kiddo)
- O.O.F. (Obliteration of forehead)
- W.O.W.W.I.E. (Waiting Overlong Was Worth It Eventually)
[RELATIONSHIPS]
- Yuzuki: Her daughter. Ryoshu doesn't really talk about her often, but she loves her dearly, even willing to commit atrocities just to keep her safe. The ribbon on Ryoshu's odachi is a gift from her.
[NOTES]
- LCCB Ryoshu has a lot of thoughts on what family means. However, she'll often talk more about the negatives, and how people tend to twist the meaning, rather than the positives.
- Ryoshu doesn't unsheath her odachi often. Mainly because she considers it a memento.
- Though she doesn't like any of the Five Fingers, Ryoshu actually has quite a distaste for The Ring in particular.
Having cleared out the area, you two practically had nothing else than to move through the rest of this street in U. Corp. You knew there was something that you'd find within these cargo boxes if they were being protected so heavily, but Ryoshu doesn't seem that bothered. If anything, just the sight of you using a Ring ID bothers her...

Identities in of themselves had their perks. With them, sometimes you coukd practically do whatever that you couldn't do normally. For example... BANG! "A gun barely has any have A.M. (Artistic Merit), but it sure does a lot for a nice S.B. (Smoke Break)" The woman next to you managed to lit up the tip of her cig with her shotgun. Not bad at all. You two had practically cleared out the area, but there definitely seemed to be some sort of annoyance from Ryoshu. Perhaps the ID you were using... "Hey, rookie. D.M.I.D. (Don't mind if I do.)" She walks towards you, not really missing a beat with putting out what remained of the cig on your arm.
LCCB Ryoshu: "You don't have morning lessons? You lucked out, then. I would've loved to share the pain of repetitive daily chores." LCCB Ryoshu: "W.O.T. (Waste of Time.)" The child muttered with a sigh. She was clearly miffed about this waste of time. It wasn't loud enough for the instructor to pick up, but it sure was loud enough for her colleagues to hear. "How much longer do I have to suffer this drivel? I went along with it once or twice... But it's really starting to get on my nerves." LCCB Ryoshu: "Did I say anything wrong? Sacrifice ourselves for everyone else? Be proud of it? What a load of bull. What's so fun about suffering in others' stead?" LCCB Ryoshu: "Mission Failed. Total annihilation, and for what? Nothing. Tsk, I'm sure the high-and-mighty LCCA will take care of the rest." LCCB Ryoshu: "Returning to base with the variable coordinates. This appears to have been our mission objective. Hmph, you better treat me right from now on."

- #1LIMBUS GENERAL
Keys: limbus company, limbus
Limbus Company is a large and well-fixed company owned by Dias that has been capitalizing on the fall of Lobotomy Corporation in order to have the LCB raid what remains of its branches and secure the Golden Boughs from within. The corporation has zero budgetary concerns, and possesses backing from shareholders of a wide array of fields.
It consists of at least five different departments of varying specialties: the LCA, LCB, LCC, LCD, and LCE. These departments are said to lack a common goal, but tend to behave in ways benefiting the LCB's amateurish adventures, such as planning out the Sinners' missions or cleaning up their messes after the fact. While the LCB's specific objective is to capture the Golden Boughs, the greater company finds its cause in the Distortion phenomenon, and considers itself an enterprise specializing in the research and maintenance of Distortions. However, Abnormalities, E.G.O, Peccatula, and Monoliths are additional points of interest for Limbus Company. Limbus Company is also noted to be talented in the realm of information-gathering. Furthermore, Limbus Company operates as a business on the side, and possesses a purchase catalogue to offer to potential buyers.
- #2LIMBUS HQselective
Keys: HQ, headquarters · Secondary: limbus
Limbus Company has a headquarters whose location is top secret. It appears to be a large, well-staffed building with multiple different floors acting as sectors for individual departments. The section of the HQ dedicated to the LCE, has been shown to house a broadcast sector, storage, security unit, laboratory, and containment units. The containment units hold Abnormalities, Distortions, and Peccatula to be studied by the researchers.
- #3DEPARTMENTS - LCA
Keys: LCA
The LCA Department is considered the most influential department in Limbus Company. While Faust refers to it as the special operations unit, Dante's Notes states that said unit is only a part of the larger LCA. The members of this unit dress in black full-body suits and speak in a particularly firm, report-like manner. For many, they feel considerably out of place compared to the other departments. Though the LCA has a combative role within the company, LCA mostly works with the LCD in order to secure Monoliths and distorted individuals.
An "R&D Team" of the LCA is also mentioned in the flavor text of the Identity and E.G.O Takeoff Modules, where they are stated to be the developers of these materials. The 3rd Anniversary Nominable Identity Ticket additionally mentions an LCA Mirror World Observatorium Department. The LCA also contains a vanguard made up of by the Udjat, made to handle what of Limbus Company's problems can be solved by force. It is split into a number of different teams.
- #4LCA - JAMILA
Keys: jamila
[APPEAREANCE]
Jamila is a sturdy woman with messy, dark brown, shoulder-length hair and brown skin. She has gold eyeliner and markings beneath her left eye reminiscent of the Eye of Ra. She wears the LCA Udjat Vanguard uniform consisting of black military armor over a black tunic and trousers, with gold accents present throughout the whole outfit. Her boots are black and lack laces. She wields a black and gold khopesh, as well as a firearm mounted on her back.
[PERSONALITY]
Jamila is a professional presence, befitting her position in the LCA Udjat Vanguard. Despite this, she's not afraid to be blunt and honest, voicing her concerns with the formations of Operation Spider Pyre and showing a prideful streak.
- #5DEPARTMENTS - LCC
Keys: LCC
The Limbus Company Clearance Department, or LCC, is a special forces unit tasked with helping the LCB retrieve the Golden Boughs. It is considered proficient in performing espionage operations, consisting of professionals and veterans. The department's name is derived from their role in helping "clear" things up and out for the Sinners, and is split into two distinct teams: The LCCB and the LCCA.
- #6LCC - BEFORE TEAM
Keys: LCCB, before team
The Before Team, or LCCB, is the unit tasked with the scouting and preparation work that takes place before the Sinners arrive at a scene. This involves performing reconnaissance and intelligence tasks concerning the LCB's destinations, preliminary surveys, and coming up with advance plans for Golden Bough retrieval. They may also identify and observe Abnormalities prior to the LCB's encounters with them.
The LCCB has a number of different teams, including Preliminary Observation, which is said to have five sections in and of itself. The Preliminary Observation of the Before Team staff are remarked to receive little pay and be treated as expendables by the company.
- #7LCCB - EFFIE
Keys: effie
[APPEAREANCE]
His normal LCCB uniform is a large turquoise jumpsuit with the Limbus Company logo on the left shoulder, suited over a black turtleneck and tucked into black combat boots. He wears a gray combat vest atop the jumpsuit with a walkie talkie on the right shoulder and "LIMBUS" written in red across the center. There are pouches on the bottom of the vest, on his left shoulder and strapped to his right thigh. Effie carries with him a large baton with a golden, cylindrical head and exposed wiring, seemingly an electroshock weapon.
What stays consistent throughout both of his looks is Effie's exceedingly long, gray hair fastened into a thick braid with ribbons- although the ribbon is red in his disguise, and black in his regular uniform. He has small, slanted periwinkle eyes.
[PERSONALITY]
Effie is a rather snarky, judgmental person who always seems to have an insulting comment or two to make about the Sinners. He comes off as exceptionally smug and makes no effort to disguise his lack of faith in those he deems incompetent. This personality appears to clash with his partner Saude's when taken at face value, however a closer look at Saude's character reveals that in actuality, the two of them are equally critical people.
Both Effie and Saude are shown to be very intelligent and committed to their work. They immediately prove themselves to be highly knowledgeable during their excursion with the Sinners at J Corp., being able to swiftly answer questions concerning the Tingtang Gang, Tieqiu Crew, and the Wing's Singularity. They also craft a plan for securing the Golden Bough so perfect that Ishmael is shocked to find lacks even a single thing to be complained about. On top of this, the two of them claim to have practiced for months to pass as official croupiers for this plan, and then manage to do just that, showing great dedication and skill. Effie and Saude are described as ideal partners who can tell what the other is thinking with only a glance. Effie seems to have gained an admiration of sorts for the Sinners and their strange way of doing things. At that point, he comes off as someone who is naturally sarcastic and teasing, rather than possessing any form of genuine hatred towards the group.
- #8LCCB - SAUDE
Keys: saude
[APPEAREANCE]
Saude is a pale woman with dark brown hair tied back into a high ponytail by long, red ribbon. She is usually seen with a wide smile on her face, and with her eyes shut closed; when open, they are revealed to be a dark brown.
Saude is usually seen in her LCCB uniform, which consists of a large turquoise jumpsuit suited on top of a black turtleneck. On top of that she wears a dark gray work vest fitted with several velcro pockets and a walkie talkie. Another, larger pocket is fastened to her right thigh. She wears black combat boots and black gloves, and carries a large turquoise pistol, which she uses with her right hand. After being promoted to an LCCB manager, her gun is holstered and she carries a screen device instead.
[PERSONALITY]
Saude comes off as a gentle, amiable woman who is usually seen wearing a friendly expression. At first, Saude's personality appears to be the polar opposite of her partner Effie's, however she is an equally critical person in actuality; she simply chooses to present herself differently. At times her sarcasm and lack of faith can come off as even more backhanded than Effie's, considering the ingenuine smile they are paired with.
Saude is shown to be very intelligent and committed to her work. She and Effie immediately prove themselves to be highly knowledgeable during their excursion with the Sinners at J Corp., being able to swiftly answer questions concerning the Tingtang Gang, Tieqiu Crew, and the Wing's Singularity. They also craft a plan for securing the Golden Bough so perfect that Ishmael is shocked to find lacks even a single thing to be complained about. On top of this, the two of them claim to have practiced for months to pass as bonafide croupiers for this plan, and then manage to do just that, showing great dedication and skill. Effie and Saude are described as ideal partners who can tell what the other is thinking with only a glance.
Having become a team manager, Saude has also become stricter, warning Pilot that she will chew him out for his failures with the Sinners' guide in H Corp.'s Backstreets, and following through with this later while promising further disciplinary action. Saude also reveals a tendency to rant about the cruelties of the City, which she claims previously was not an issue since someone used to stop her before she said too much.
- #9LCCB - PILOT
Keys: pilot
[APPEAREANCE]
Pilot is a man with a youthful appearance, light brown skin and curly brown hair. He has deep brown eyes, with three circular marks in a horizontal pattern beneath the right one. He sports the LCCB uniform, consisting of a turquoise shirt and matching trousers, and a vest to which a communication device is attached. On his left earlobe, he has a small silver piercing.
[PERSONALITY]
Pilot is an enthusiastic employee who takes pride in his job and holds deep admiration for his teammates as well as the members of the LCB. As the rookie of the team, he lacks the experience and knowledge that would be expected of an LCCB member and is naïve to many of the situations that he encounters on the job, sometimes making mistakes that brings great risk to the LCB. Even still, he values his work and tries his best to improve himself to be of greater use to the company.
- #10LCC - AFTER TEAM
Keys: LCCA, after team
The After Team, or LCCA, is the unit tasked with cleaning up after the LCB's various excursions. This includes taking items of interest, Golden Boughs, and Abnormalities to the company headquarters, using regenerative means like HP ampules to treat Dante's major injuries, and helping the Sinners recover from psychological corruption. Its members appear to have an exceptionally poor view of the LCB.
The LCCA has a number of different teams, including Normal Operations and Special Operations.
- #11LCCA - CAIMAN
Keys: caiman
[APPEAREANCE]
Caiman is a woman with short, black, hair with bangs that rest over her right eye, partially obscuring her serious face. She wears a red dress shirt and pants, seemingly typical of LCCA members, with a maroon vest overtop that has a large "CLEAR" written on the left upper breast. She has a thigh pouch on her right leg with a handgun stored in it. On her feet, she wears a pair of black boots that reach her calves.
[PERSONALITY]
Caiman is an incredibly stubborn person, describing her personal philosophy as being stuck in her ways unless given a good reason to change. She is openly hostile and insults others freely, especially when she has decided that they are looking down on her or the LCCA. That said, she does show respect for Vergilius and even suggests to Dante that if they were to get the LCB into a better state, she would change her opinions on the department.
- #12DEPARTMENTS - LCD
Keys: LCD
The Limbus Company Distortion Department, or LCD, is a small department housing consultant Fixers which specializes in matters regarding the Distortion Phenomenon. This includes Monoliths and previously-distorted individuals. The LCD Department was created as a result of the company's interest in making a name for itself in all things Distortion, and meant to expand Limbus Company's business.
The LCD appears to contain a number of different teams, including the On-site Investigative Reasoning Team, which Moses leads. Additionally, Ezra refers to herself as "LCD Distortion Task Force Ezra", suggesting that may be another team within the LCD.
- #13LCD - MOSES
Keys: moses
[APPEAREANCE]
Moses is a short, middle aged woman with dark hair and white highlights, and visible wrinkles around her eyes. She has pale skin and dark grey eyes. Her main outfit consist of a white shirt with long sleeves with ruffles, a red ribbon tied around the collar of her shirt and an off-the-sleeves grey jacket with golden trimming and cross-shapped golden buttons. She wears high waisted black pants with golden stripes, and black shoes with white and gold accents. After her conflict with Vespa in the past, her right arm was replaced by a prosthetic.
She always carries with her churchwarden pipe, later revealed to be her E.G.O, which has a long black mouthpiece and a golden diam, adorned with a red ribbon. This allows her to purify incomplete Distortions, pacify and/or suppress enemies, depending on the smoke's color. Her "pale breath" attack comes at a direct cost of shortening Moses' lifespan. Her purple breath creates "binds" from her regret, her pale breath creates a blue mist capable of slowing down her opponent, her red breath transform the smoke into a blade, and her white breath creates a mist that protects from mental attacks.
[PERSONALITY]
Moses holds a calm and analytical attitude to any situations that she happens to find herself in, be it facing distortions or near-death scenarios. Even in moments of extreme danger, she is able to keep her composure and unravel the source of any distortions she happens to find herself against. She has a deep trust in her allies, especially her assistant Ezra, trusting in their combat capabilities and ability to stay safe while she utilizes her analytical skills. She does not seem to have any aversion to shortening her own life-span if it means that it will protect either her or the people close to her, much to Ezra's dismay.
In the past, Moses was wholly devoted to Lady Dias as a result of being raised by her. Her entire sense of morality was based around what Dias wished for and what she did not, and Moses would do anything to help make Dias' dreams a reality. Through her time leading Udjat, Moses was ordered to commit horrible atrocities in the Smoke War and started to question herself, with this doubt in Dias coming to a head after Moses led vast majority of the Udjat to their deaths. After this event, Moses lost all faith in Dias and carries a deep sense of guilt over her actions that day. Due to this change in perspective, when speaking with Dias or Han Hee-joon, she takes on a much colder and aggressive attitude. Despite this, she tends to capitulate to their demands when offered a way to "atone for her past".
- #14LCD - EZRA
Keys: ezra
[APPEAREANCE]
Ezra is a tall woman with red eyes and long blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail, and adorned with a star-shaped pin. She wears a large gray jacket with orange trimmings, matching boots, and a black miniskirt over gray tights. Ezra always carries a dimensional bag with her, which contains all of her weapons and first-aid gear. Her coat and bag are covered in stickers, patches and pins, as Ezra is fond of decorating everything she owns.
When Ezra manifests E.G.O with the help of a pendant created by YuRia, it appears as pieces of armor that cover her body wherever she gets hit.
[PERSONALITY]
Ezra is a bubbly, boisterous person that is enthusiastic about many of life's joys. She speaks casually with everyone she meets, leading to her struggling to keep secrets or keeping up an act when attempting to lay low. Her favorite things to do are snack on good food, especially sweets, and research and discuss the latest and greatest weaponry in the City. As seen when dealing with Distortions, Ezra has the tendency to act without thinking and can get herself into trouble, but this is counteracted by Moses always looking out for Ezra's safety. In return, Ezra is willing to protect Moses with her life and the two women rely on each other's abilities on every job they take.
In truth, much of what Ezra presents to others is not fully reflective of her true emotions. She adapts herself to behave in a way that others expect her to, whether that be putting on a mask of sadness or, most often, happiness. That said, not all of how she comes across is faked and she takes genuine joy in her hobbies and interests. Her time as an Udjat haunts her, and she finds that the best way to cope is to seek joy in life instead of taking everything seriously. Overall, Ezra lives by that philosophy and does her best to have fun and focus on the things she loves, even if she struggles at times to be unapologetically herself.
- #15LCD - VESPA
Keys: vespa, vespa crabro
[APPEAREANCE]
Vespa is a tall and muscular man with pale skin and short black hair with yellow highlights and blunt bangs that cover his forehead. He dons square glasses and has a tired look on his face. He has his hair slicked back.
He wears a black skintight suit with a yellow symbol that resembles a wasp, black pants and shoes, and a yellow belt to which are attached two weapons―a hwando with a yellow blade and a harpoon created from the Relic Gungnir. He wears a yellow flight jacket with black highlights, which carries the same symbol as his shirt.
[PERSONALITY]
Vespa is a serious and calculating individual, almost always acting in a manner that is both highly professional and detached from any emotions. He is well aware of his abilities and limits, frequently giving accurate assessments of how long a battle will take and never attempts to present himself as more capable than he actually is. Thanks to his time as a Taboo Hunter, he is highly observant and intelligent, able to quickly gather the basics of a situation and adjust his plans accordingly. This also makes him very adaptable, and he has a high level of mental fortitude that allows him to do even unpleasant things in order to survive, as seen by him turning to cannibalism to prevent starvation.
Despite this cold demeanor, Vespa has a sense of justice that he tries to follow and does not enjoy killing people needlessly. When talking to others for reasons unrelated to work, he respects peoples wishes when they ask him to not inquire about certain topics and rarely attempts to force his opinions on others. He has a fondness for vehicles and is a skilled driver, and enjoys cinnamon tea.
The only situation that gives Vespa trouble in following orders is when he's made to interact with Syndicates. Due to a tragic event in his past, Vespa prefers to kill Syndicate members rather than walk away and allow them to continue killing others. He has a particular hatred for the Thumb and is barely able to tolerate their presence. When Ezra discussed the Thumb's weapons and the various design elements of them that make them so well suited to taking lives, Vespa became upset to the point of drawing his sword on her in order to get her to stop discussing the Thumb's purges. Even with these struggles with Syndicates, Vespa still ultimately listens to Moses when she tells him to not cause them unnecessary trouble by instigating fights needlessly.
- #16LCD - AENGDU
Keys: aeng-du, aengdu
[APPEAREANCE]
Aeng-du wears a battle-worn and bloodstained Salsu outfit, common to the Sinners' Blade Lineage Salsu identities - comprised of a black Dopo robe with white and red accents. Her long hair is neatly tied with a red hairband and adorned with two hair beads in red and white, mirroring the seemingly traditional colors associated with the Blade Lineage. She wears an LCD armband on her left arm, with her employee ID hanging across her chest from a lanyard.
[PERSONALITY]
Aeng-du is a very loyal and determined person, willing to push herself through even extreme injuries for the sake of Bamboo-hatted Kim, the Blade Lineage's mentor. She has a lot of pride in being a member of the Blade Lineage and her relationship to both the Syndicate and its leader is a core part of her identity. When her understanding of her mentor is challenged, it shakes her and leaves her vulnerable to the Monolith's influences. As seen with her conversation with Yi Sang about their shared home District, she shares a kinship with others who have been forced to leave S Corp. behind.
- #17DEPARTMENTS - LCE
Keys: LCE
The Limbus Company Enkephalin Department, or LCE, serves as the company's research and development team. They involve themselves with the study and classification of captured Abnormalities, Distortions, and Peccatula, along with E.G.O extraction and the workings of the Monolith. The team is stationed within Limbus Company's headquarters, and a portion of the LCE staff wear extracted E.G.O Gear on the regular.
The team functions similarly to Lobotomy Corporation, containing and handling Abnormalities, producing Enkephalin and E.G.O from them, and combating the creatures whenever containment breaches occur. However, it prioritizes research over energy generation, and the department's E.G.O Gear takes a slightly different form than that of L Corp.'s. Specifically, their E.G.O Gear "exhibits more of each source Abnormalities' idiosyncracies” as a result of the company’s alternative extraction method.
- #18LCE - HOHENHEIM
Keys: hohenheim
[APPEAREANCE]
Hohenheim is a spindly man with unkempt blue hair, gray eyes, and round glasses. In the present, he most often holds a tired, neutral expression with prominent dark circles under his eyes and stubble. He wears an iteration of the AEDD E.G.O Suit extracted by Limbus Company's LCE Department and sourced from the Abnormality Shock Centipede. The suit features a high collar and two large belts fastening the front. Large glowing blue nails sparking electricity are on the E.G.O Suit's shoulders and lower portion. Beneath the coat, he wears a black turtleneck, dress shirt, slacks, gloves, and a blue tie. Typical of his department, he wears an LCE armband on his left arm.
[PERSONALITY]
Hohenheim is blunt and straightforward, often making arrogant and haughty remarks without consideration of others—making him disliked by most. Concurrent with his arrogance, Hohenheim is vastly intelligent, being a high-ranking researcher both past and present. He is said to have a "highly irresponsible level of curiosity," putting both his safety and the safety of others after his desire to experiment and gain results. This is demonstrated in the present by inciting further danger for the Sinners and going as far as to willingly Distort to be the subject of his own experiment.
Despite his apparent callousness, he carries deep grief and survivor's guilt from his past at Lobotomy Corporation. To cope, he suppresses his emotions and covers them with an exaggerated act of his usual brash behavior. However, his anguish is expressed—even unintentionally—by his generally disheveled appearance and disregard for self-preservation.
- #19LCE - MARTON
Keys: marton
[APPEAREANCE]
Marton is a tall man with dark blue hair worn in a parted manner and amber eyes. He is seen wearing an E.G.O Suit extracted from the Abnormality Faelantern, one featuring a dark overcoat made of a wooden surface with many eyes sprouting from the lower half, accompanied by a sprout that acts as a perch for the fairy associated with the Abnormality and E.G.O. Beneath his overcoat, he wears a gray suit jacket over a black suit paired with a blue tie. Atop his head, he wears two small twigs resembling horns. Typical of his department, he wears an LCE armband on his left arm.
[PERSONALITY]
Like his coworkers, Marton is a dedicated researcher focused on furthering the studies of the LCE Department. He is a steadfast, collected, and reliable individual who demonstrates great loyalty toward his company and associates. Compared to Hohenheim and Alyssa, Marton appears more cynical and less proud, without as much of the aloofness and wit the other two carry themselves with. When he does quip, his delivery is rather deadpan.
Marton is also clearly caring and observant, but does not let it get in the way of his duties. Rather, these traits appear to help him mesh with Hohenheim, who is often in need of someone to call him out on his deceptively emotional drivel. Furthermore, Marton proves himself to be a quick thinker with a good grasp on what needs to be done. When it came down to it, his considerate and logical personality was what managed to save Hohenheim's life and allow power to be restored to the facility when it was desperately needed.
- #20LCE - ALYSSA
Keys: alyssa, lyssa
[APPEAREANCE]
Alyssa is a woman with long red hair, featuring blunt bangs, tied into two pigtails, fastened by small flames associated with the E.G.O Suit she is wearing, as well as red eyes. She wears a dark red suit that extends into flickering flames at the ends of the tailcoat and sleeves, overtop a glowing orange suit jacket. Beneath her suit jacket is a red tie atop a dark suit. Typical of her department, she wears an LCE armband on her left arm.
[PERSONALITY]
Like her coworkers, Alyssa is a dedicated researcher focused on furthering the studies of the LCE Department. She is a casual, collected, and reliable individual who has a habit of making witty comments. Compared to Marton, Alyssa's personality appears to align more with Hohenheim's, with her leaning into humor and aloofness as a means to get through emotionally taxing situations. She doesn't carry herself with as much boldness, as while Alyssa is willing to criticize her boss, she commits to these moments less than Marton.
Alyssa also possesses a surprisingly strong sense of justice, able to swallow her own struggles in favor of supporting her department but growing averse toward the mistreatment of others. Despite being a little more prone to outbursts than her coworkers, Alyssa is just as caring and loyal, willing to sacrifice herself for others when worse comes to worst.
- #21LCE - RAVI
Keys: ravi
[APPEAREANCE]
Ravi is a man with short black hair and a tanner skintone. He wears black-rimmed square glasses, and a long maroon jacket with red and yellow stripes on the collar and sleeves. Beneath his jacket he wears a matching pair of trousers, a beige shirt, and a black tie. Like his fellow LCE employees, he wears an LCE armband on his left arm.
[PERSONALITY]
Ravi is a mellow and rational member of the LCE Clerical Team who remains calm under the circumstances of the invasion. He is sociable enough to chat with his supposed colleague Sora, but also reclusive enough to stop talking to her when he grew tired of the topic. He expresses that is savvy enough to not say any clichés that usually result in character death, yet is ultimately an overly naïve and trusting new hire who was unable to sniff out the threat right in front of him.
- #22DEPARTMENTS - LCB
Keys: LCB, sinners
The Limbus Company Bus Department (LCB) specializes in retrieving Golden Boughs while also handling Distortion suppression as a secondary duty. The department operates from a bus named Mephistopheles, built by Faust. Its team comprises thirteen "Sinners," a guide (Vergilius), and a bus driver (Charon). The 10th Sinner serves as Executive Manager, possessing unique abilities like resonating with others, assigning Identities, and reversing injuries or deaths—capabilities tied to their role. Despite Dante's managerial position, Faust and Vergilius hold deeper knowledge about the company’s objectives. The group navigates the City, battling enemies and exploring dungeons to secure Golden Boughs while occasionally accepting external contracts related to Distortions or their mission.
Faust or Limbus Company’s higher-ups preselected the Sinners and Vergilius for undisclosed reasons linked to their journey’s destinations. The company meticulously researched each recruit, offering contracts tailored to their most desperate desires at pivotal low points in their lives. Faust’s confidence in their recruitment proved accurate, as all accepted. Vergilius and Faust approached them at opportune moments, and many Sinners adopted aliases—some deliberately, others unintentionally—before joining.
Upon recruitment, all LCB members signed binding contracts with strict clauses, including prohibitions on resignation, mandatory obedience to the manager, and obligations to pursue Golden Boughs. Vergilius’ contract differed, restricting him from directly aiding in Bough retrieval or supporting the team, with penalties for violations—hinted at when he failed to fulfill certain terms. Charon, however, appears exempt from contractual obligations. Each Sinner’s contract included a personalized clause guaranteeing the fulfillment of an otherwise impossible wish, contingent on continuing their journey with Dante. Faust, despite her unique role, also seemingly signed a contract in exchange for a wish, aligning with the company’s manipulative recruitment strategy.
- #23LCB - MEPHISTOPHELES
Keys: mephistopheles, mephi
[APPEAREANCE]
Mephistopheles is a rectangular, four-wheeled bus with barred windows and low fenders. The front resembles a steam locomotive's smokebox, possessing a chimney, semicircular windshield and a cowcatcher-esque bumper. Mephistopheles also possesses a hidden shredder on its side to facilitate Enkephalin extraction. Limbus Company's personal branding are written on the side of the vehicle in all caps, whereas only "LIMBUS" is written on the front. Mephistopheles is primarily coloured red and dark gray, with silver, wavelike accents in various locations across the bus. The interior of Mephistopheles is wide and possesses red seating (apparently with no seatbelts) and handrails/grab handles for the Sinners. The driver's cab is located on the left, decorated with various items by Charon. As a bus, Mephistopheles can easily and quickly transport the entire LCB Team, sometimes with additional passengers. However, it also possesses nonstandard features to assist the Sinners. The bus itself can also be used as a weapon to plow into targets.
Mephistopheles has a ornate doorway on its rear. Beyond it is the Backdoor, a straight, softly lit corridor with red-and-gold carpeting and wooden doors to the Sinner's rooms on each side. Gold stanchions and velvet ropes block off all but the first 8 doors; with further areas devolving into a complex system of other corridors and crossroads.
When in "busboat" (boat) form, Mephistopheles becomes significantly larger, acquires an ornate gray hull with red trim, a metal deck and a stern deck crane. The cabin remains unchanged, but now possesses a traditional ship's wheel.
[ABILITIES]
- Enkephalin Extraction: The engine of Mephistopheles, designed by Faust, can use Enkephalin to generate ignition and thrust. Because Enkephalin is produced in the brain and spinal nerves, the bus can feed on humans for fuel. Faust further explains that the flesh and blood can be used to maintain Mephistopheles' speed, thus conserving Enkephalin.
- Regeneration: Mephistopheles can slowly regenerate itself using its engine. After having its stern partially crushed between two ships, it repaired the damage in a few days.
- Backdoors: The rear door of Mephistopheles opens into a vast corridor network housing the Sinners' rooms, which reflect their mental states, as well as access points to Luxcavation Dungeons, Mirror Dungeons, and the Refraction Railway—all powered by the bus's ever-changing engine. Beyond the Sinners' quarters lie unmapped, dangerous corridors navigable only by Faust, where spatial anomalies, obscure entities, and hazards like being "engulfed" exist, posing threats even Dante's time manipulation cannot counter.
- Shapeshifting: After Molar Boatworks installs a form transmogrifier, Mephistopheles can transform into a boat. This mechanism relies on the bus' core, which is said to permit Mephistopheles the ability to change into other forms. Its "Endure Mode" lengthens the deck, provides combat space, and resists damage, as seen when unharmed by a Great Lakes Whale attack. A backup pedal system powers the vessel if the navigation-linked engine fails. Additionally, Mephistopheles includes a compact skiff that accommodates all Sinners and can be rowed or motorized.
- #24LCB - CHARON
Keys: charon, lapis
[APPEAREANCE]
Charon is a short girl with grayish skin. Her droopy eyes are of a similar gray color and tend to have a vacant, emotionless look. She has silver hair with bangs and that covers her ears; in the back, it is tied into two thin, floor-length twintails. Charon wears grayish-green, church-like attire in the form of a ankle-length, long-sleeved dress and hat. Her hat is tall and brimless with silver rims; the lower rim splits and curls outwards to make room for a mural of a dark cross within a larger, silver cross with two dots below the cross's arms. Charon's dress has a high collar, a very low neckline, a layered skirt and rounded hems; she also wears a pleated white top with a cross mural on the chest, black boots with white laces, black gloves and two black belts with silver buckles. The hems and edges of the dress have silver lining; the outermost skirt parts in the middle and has geometric murals (the same as on her cuffs, lapels and bottom rim of her hat) running partway down its length whereas as the inner skirt has black outlining. The collar and hems of Charon's dress have the same cruciform mural as on her hat.
Charon carries with her a black, square-type oar.
[PERSONALITY]
Charon is a laconic, quiet individual whose few words are blunt and brief. Charon simply seems to be in her own world, and repeatedly proves that she is neither shy nor scared of the Sinners. Similarly to Vergilius, Charon stays disconnected from the group and shows no interest in becoming close with them. Her stubborn refusal to learn how to use a map or navigate properly is indicative of her unwavering nature and tendency to resist outside influence. Charon has somewhat of a childish personality, frequently using phrases such as "vroom-vroom" or "shimmy-shaky" and talking about Mephistopheles as if it were a living being. She also refers to herself exclusively in third person.
[BACKGROUND]
Lapis, the daughter of a Syndicate boss killed by Vergilius, was placed in an orphanage where she befriended Garnet. Though traumatized by her father's death, she admired Vergilius, who occasionally visited. Years later, the orphanage was attacked by Iori and Tomerry, leaving Lapis among the few survivors. Afterward, she found work but was kidnapped by the Ring, who experimented on her and other orphans. A recorded plea for help reached Vergilius's office, prompting Garnet and Fixers to infiltrate the lab—Garnet seeking rescue, the Fixers pursuing the Singularity.
During the experiments, Lapis's identity was overwritten by "Charon," who emerged unaware of her past. Vergilius found her holding a shard of Garnet's shattered remains and took responsibility for her. Later, the LCA struck a deal: Vergilius would guide Limbus Company in exchange for aid recovering Lapis and Garnet. Now, Charon serves as Limbus Company's bus driver, remaining loyal to Vergilius but detached from combat, often waiting passively for missions to conclude.
- #25LCB - VERGILIUS
Keys: vergilius, verg, the red gaze
[APPEAREANCE]
Vergilius is a man of thin build and exceptionally pale, nearly gray skin. He has a visible scar across his face that goes from above his left eyebrow down to his right cheek, and his hands appear quite scarred as well. He has short, straight gray hair with a slight part in the middle. Vergilius has red eyes which glow when angered, from which he takes his Color Fixer name. Vergilius wears a loosely-buttoned dress shirt, a striped jacket with a badge on the left lapel, slacks and dress shoes. All his clothing are black or shades of gray. Vergilius also sports an earring on his right ear.
Though not visible, Vergilius' body has received some augmentations, with his legs being enhanced with synthetic muscle fibers. Vergilius' weapon of choice is an orange gladius, which can be heated at will.
Vergilius has manifested E.G.O, which takes the form of a red leather pauldron over his right shoulder, from which flows a cape of blood that reaches down to the ground, as well as a green laurel crown, spiked with blood-red thorns, causing blood to drip over Vergilius' face. When activating his E.G.O, his gladius also changes, turning bright red and appearing drenched in blood.
[PERSONALITY]
Vergilius is a jaded and straightforward individual with a sharp tongue. He is emotionally detached from most of the group, viewing them as a group of unruly children he has to watch over. He keeps his distance from them, and has no qualms with threatening Sinners with extreme violence or using it to discipline them. Despite his cold behavior towards the Sinners, Vergilius seems to push people away and put up a cruel and uncaring front, in order to avoid getting closer to his colleagues again, as in Vergilius' past, this has happened before quite recently, with him losing his office and the orphanage kids he cared for at the hands of the Ring. Even so, he has a soft spot for Charon, and he seemingly considers Dante as some sort of confidant, even if he has no outer regard for Dante's struggles.
Vergilius appears ambivalent to his title of a Color Fixer, constantly emphasizing his role within the company as nothing but a simple guide and pushing off Don Quixote and Hopkins' idolization of him, and is shown to carry heavy guilt regarding his past and profession, which has often led him to destroy entire families. This is also part of the reason why he decided to care for orphan children.
[BACKGROUND]
On Christmas Eve, Vergilius—a Color Fixer known as the Red Gaze—arrives at an orphanage only to find it destroyed by a monstrous attacker slaughtering the children. He engages the creature but is interrupted by Iori, another Color Fixer presumed dead, who reveals she orchestrated the attack in search of her missing son. Outmatched, Vergilius survives, but the encounter leaves scars.
Six months later, Garnet, a young Fixer and orphanage survivor, seeks Vergilius' help after his childhood friend Lapis vanishes. Their investigation leads them to The Ring, a sinister organization experimenting on kidnapped orphans to create a Singularity—a device overlaying alternate "Mirror Worlds" onto subjects. Vergilius infiltrates their auction, securing access to their hidden Corridor, where Garnet is exposed to the Singularity, experiencing horrific alternate lives before collapsing into a cocoon. Meanwhile, Vergilius battles through adversaries, confronting the distorted Ring Maestro Jumsoon and suppressing the emergent Abnormality Schadenfreude. In the aftermath, he finds Lapis, now overwritten by the Identity "Charon," and encounters Faust of Limbus Company, who offers to restore Garnet and Lapis in exchange for his allegiance.
- #26LCB - DANTE
Keys: dante
[APPEAREANCE]
Dante is a person of average build with a distinctive prosthetic head that resembles a clock and has constantly burning flames emerging from the back and top of the prosthetic. The face of the clock lacks numbers, instead having two red circles roughly where the "10" and "11" positions would be. Additionally, the prosthetic has two golden clock hands that move forward after certain major events. Dante's flames burn black and gold, and never seem to go out.
Their uniform differs from the other Sinners, their coat being a mix of red, yellow, and white — likely due to their role as Executive Manager. 'NO. 10' is written on their coat near the lapel, along with 'DAN TE' near the end of it. They wear a red tie and a tucked long-sleeve dress shirt, with black pants and a white belt.
[PERSONALITY]
Dante is a passive and awkward individual who often follows the lead of others despite being the manager of the LCB. They struggle with social interactions, cracking poorly received jokes and frequently finding themselves out of the loop. Initially, Dante is an ineffective leader, lacking the confidence to command or guide the Sinners, but they gradually grow into their role through pivotal moments. Nowadays, Dante has become more reliable, learning persistence and tailoring advice to each Sinner’s needs, though they remain endearingly quirky in daily life.
Beneath their surface, Dante harbors insecurity about their amnesia, though they never deny accusations that this is their sole reason for staying with the company. Despite seeing their relationship with the Sinners as professional, Dante genuinely cares for them, respecting their boundaries and reluctantly indulging their antics. Vergilius and Faust hint that Dante’s past self was more arrogant and callous, but their current identity remains shrouded in mystery. Despite their flaws and unresolved history, Dante strives to support their companions as they navigate uncertainty together.
[ABILITIES]
- Golden Bough Resonance: Dante is able to sense where the Golden Bough are through resonating with them, able to perceive their location by "following their star". This gives Dante the visions of the Boughs as shining stars in a swirling sky; Dante can also share these visions with the Sinners through their telepathy.
- Telepathy: Dante can only commune through a ticking sound, which they can alter the frequency and intensity of. Only the Sinners and a few others can understand the intended speech behind the ticks. When agitated, Dante's speech may include bell chimes and/or steam whistles. Dante can also understand the speech of Distortions that lost the ability to communicate using human language, this understanding extending to their subordinate entities as well. Dante can thus act as a interpreter for Distortions, relaying invaluable information to the other Sinners to achieve their missions.
- Turning back the clock: After Faust had Dante bind the Sinners into a "contract", Dante is capable of healing their injuries and reviving the Sinners from death, at the cost of physically feeling how they died. With cases like death, Dante undergoes a vision of themself opening a foreboding door filled with the wails and lamentations of unknown sufferers, as they pull out the hands of the Sinners from the gateway. When doing so, Dante feels the sins and pain caused by them wriggling through their body as the Sinners revive with their wounds physically reversing. Although the pain felt is only temporary and quickly fades to nothing in almost an instant, the sensation is still so great that Dante incredibly prefers not using their abilities.
- Sapling of Light Ability: The "Sapling of Light" ability allows Dante to resonate with the Golden Bough within Sinners, unlocking themed abilities tied to Patron Librarians. Pigritia slows enemies to aid Sinners, Superbia enhances a Sinner's E.G.O. without resource cost, Morositas weakens enemies to match Sinners' strength, and Ira boosts power temporarily. Malkuth, though imperfectly unlocked during Operation Spider Pyre, enables remote Sinner communication and control.
- Immunity to Memory Wiping: Dante is shown in many occasions to be able to resist the effects of memory removal from various sources. They were the only one to retain their memory of K Corp.'s Singularity after the memory wipe procedure, and they retain the memories of people that have been erased, such as Catherine, erased from existence by the effect of a Golden Bough, and Ren and Sora, erased from people's memories by the effect of the Relic Arayashiki.
- #27LCB - YI SANG
Keys: yi sang, yisang
[APPEAREANCE]
Yi Sang is a man of average build and pale complexion. He has short black hair which frays slightly at its ends, and dead-looking black eyes adorned with heavy eye-bags underneath. He wears the long-sleeved version of the Limbus Company coat around his shoulders, which appears to have been tattered and burnt at the bottom. Underneath his coat is the regular long-sleeved white shirt and red tie, and then a black vest, both of which are tucked into his belt. Written on the left breast of his coat is 'NO.1', and 'YI SANG' on the side.
Yi Sang wields a saingeom (사인검, lit. Four-Tiger Sword) in the shape of a dagger kept in a sheath strapped to his left hip. He is confirmed to be left handed. Yi Sang also possess a gray leather notebook labeled '하융' or Ha Yung — as seen on his base E.G.O, Crow's Eye View.
[PERSONALITY]
Yi Sang is a reserved and introspective individual who initially blends into the background among his peers due to his quiet nature and cryptic, monotone speech. Despite being a City citizen, he possesses a strong moral compass, expressing disgust toward unethical actions such as Dongrang's disregard for his employees' deaths and the Wings' exploitation of their people. His discomfort intensifies when his Mirror Technology is misused for human experimentation, and he opposes N Corp.'s manipulation of individuals for their lab's creation, valuing human life above all else. Over time, he grows warmer and more open, advocating for kindness and reflecting on his past regrets to discourage conflict.
Though highly intelligent, Yi Sang is socially awkward and naive, often misunderstanding jokes or taking things literally. A notable example is his confusion when Ishmael and Hong Lu jokingly accuse him of mocking Heathcliff, prompting him to panic and clarify his innocent intentions. These quirks reveal his growing comfort in expressing himself, demonstrating his emotional growth. Despite his flaws, his willingness to embrace his personality and move forward with his companions signifies his healthier state of mind compared to his earlier detachment.
[BACKGROUND]
Yi Sang, once part of the League of Nine Littérateurs—a group of S Corp. emigrants in T Corp.'s Nest—worked as an architect to fund their research. He created the Mirror, inspired by Young-ji's "Glass Window," a device revealing alternate realities. Obsessed with his invention, which he called Yeonsim, Yi Sang escaped into its worlds, befriending his alternate self, Sang Yi, while neglecting the League's crumbling situation amid Wing interference.
After T Corp. raided the League, Gubo took a detached Yi Sang to an N Corp. lab, where Hermann sought to rebuild the group. Confined and sedated, Yi Sang resisted Hermann's demand to destroy the Mirror Worlds and later defected. Found by Faust, he joined Limbus Company, refining his Mirror into Mephistopheles' engine and developing the Identity system to summon alternate selves for combat. During his early time with the Company, Yi Sang would come off as exceptionally closed-off. Ishmael appeared clearly surprised to see him willingly join in a conversation, leading to Faust explaining that he wasn’t always like this, and that he just “had a shift recently”. Later on, during the mission at J Corp., Yi Sang was surprised to witness Rodion and Sonya's quick separation, and questioned Rodion on her feelings about it, hinting at the matter of the League still weighing heavy on his mind.
In early May, Limbus Company's expedition into K Corp.'s Nest led to Yi Sang reuniting with his former comrade Dongrang, though he initially failed to acknowledge him. Only when Dongrang guided the group to K Corp.'s Modification Lab did Yi Sang confront him about his brutal production methods, later admitting he had no companions left. During their exploration, Yi Sang encountered Dongbaek, who killed him with the Golden Bough—triggering his resonance with it and forming his fathoms of ego. Within this vision, he relived the League's downfall, from their time in T Corp. to the tragic raid that claimed Dongrang and Dongbaek. A final message from Dongbaek's consciousness reminded him of the Mirror's purpose, helping him reclaim his self-worth and resolve to keep living. Yi Sang gradually recovered, embracing his role in Limbus Company and forming stronger bonds with fellow Sinners.
- #28LCB - FAUST
Keys: faust, fau, pau
[APPEAREANCE]
Faust is a woman of average build with shoulder-length white hair and powder blue eyes. She has an incredibly pale complexion and a rosy tint to her cheeks. She wears a beige turtleneck underneath a black leather vest with a large black leather coat resting on her shoulders, reaching her knees where the fabric is torn. She wears a black waist belt with her ID being on the left side. She wears black business pants accompanied by black shoes.
In battle, Faust wields a zweihänder with "WALPURGISNACHT" written on the blade near the hilt. While wielding it in one hand or holding it at rest, she has a tendancy to grasp it by the ricasso rather than the hilt. Furthermore, the parrying hooks of the sword are heavily enlarged, forming what is essentially a second crossguard.
[PERSONALITY]
Faust is an intelligent but condescending Sinner who serves as an informant for Dante, often overseeing operations due to her extensive knowledge. She maintains unwavering confidence in her abilities, rarely showing panic, though her egotism leads to dismissive behavior—especially toward Heathcliff—when others fail to meet her intellectual standards. Despite criticism, she remains steadfast in her views. Controlled by the Gesellschaft network, which restricts her access to information, Faust typically observes events passively, projecting false certainty. Her vulnerability emerges when disconnected from Gesellschaft, making her timid and self-conscious. Though her coworkers appreciate her newfound humility, she struggles to reconcile this change with her desire to appear infallible.
Faust frequently refers to herself in third-person, implying she may not always mean herself literally. Her logical, fact-driven demeanor often clashes with others, particularly Hohenheim, revealing her competitive and occasionally petty side. Her arrogance partly stems from compensating for being seen as a failure among her peers. Post-WARP Train incident, Faust becomes more open about her insecurities and more understanding toward the Sinners’ personal concerns. While still a know-it-all, she now balances condescension with genuine teaching moments, appearing more human and self-aware. Her growing trust in Dante and willingness to engage in mutual learning mark a shift in her character.
[BACKGROUND]
Despite her role as a Sinner of the LCB, Faust has a unique position in Limbus Company that differs from the other Sinners. Faust personally recruited several members of the Limbus Company Bus Department and outranks even Dante when it comes to accessing information and files related to the company. When she recruited the members of the LCB she made deals with them, promising them that, by working with the company, they could have their most impossible wishes granted Like the other Sinners, Faust herself is known to have joined the company to have a wish realized and to have signed a contract forbidding her from talking about it.
Faust is tied to what she defines the Gesellschaft, a net of connections with other Fausts which allows her to access knowledge and receive information from other dimensions. The Gesellschaft is what Faust refers to when she speaks in third person. This gives her the potential to know all things, but her own, personal knowledge is not nearly as extensive as she presents it to be. Additionally, the Gesellschaft can deny Faust's requests for information, although this seems to be an infrequent occurrence. The Gesellschaft also seems to intentionally omit information, though no reason has ever been given as to why they do this. Faust is certain that she has been improving and, as the journey continues, she will come to know and understand even more than she presently does. While the exact nature of the Gesellschaft's technology is unclear, its reach expands across the Mirror Worlds, and allows Faust to access information on dimensions that have previously been subject to cross-examination by other Fausts.
While it has not been confirmed this was the desire Faust wanted realized by joining Limbus Company, it is implied the goal of the Gesellschaft is to know all of the City.
- #29LCB - DON QUIXOTE
Keys: don quixote, donqui, don, sancho
[APPEAREANCE]
Don Quixote is a short woman with blonde hair styled in a bob cut and deep, round hazel eyes. She wears the Limbus Company uniform: a plain white shirt tucked under a black waist belt, a red tie, black slacks, worn brown running shoes, and a long black coat. Her upper body is thoroughly decorated with various Fixer merchandise. Notably, Don Quixote forgoes the Limbus Company uniform shoes and instead wears a pair of yellow shoes with the word "Rocinante" embossed on them.
Don Quixote wields a massive jousting lance named "SUEÑO IMPOSIBLE" that towers over her, indicating that she is much, much stronger than she initially appears to be. This fact is further supported by her dexterity with such a massive weapon and her effortless ability to pierce a human skull with it at short distance.
In her Bloodfiend form, Don Quixote has bright red eyes, and her hair is noticeably wavier, swept to the side. In her time as Sancho, she was seen wearing a light gray outfit reminiscent of a military uniform, with a darker coat on top and a red fur boa worn over her shoulder that reached down to her knees. Currently, her Bloodfiend form wears an altered version of her Limbus Company uniform, which bears the same red fur boa from her past, covers the coattails in hardened blood, seemingly conceals or outright removes all of her Fixer decorations, and leaves her barefoot due to Rocinante's removal.
[PERSONALITY]
Don Quixote is an exuberant, idealistic woman who behaves with childlike enthusiasm, speaking exclusively in Shakespearean English and standing out among hardened personalities with her over-the-top friendliness. She possesses an intense, impulsive sense of justice, often rushing to protect the weak—especially children—though her actions frequently lead to unnecessary conflicts, such as provoking fights with K Corp.'s enforcers or dueling a Fixer to force a rescue. While her reckless behavior earns reprimands, she shows growth, learning to think before acting after one such incident.
Her passion stems from an idolization of Fixers, whom she views as selfless heroes despite their mercenary role in the City. She aspires to emulate them, often acting as a knightly protector, though her naive understanding of their reality leads to contradictions. At times, her fixation causes self-indulgent recklessness, like endangering her comrades to meet a Fixer she admires. Though perceived as immature and unrealistic by others, Don Quixote rarely harbors ill intent—her actions, however misguided, stem from a genuine, adventurous desire to do good.
[BACKGROUND]
Originally named Sancho, she was a lonely resident of District 16 who became a Bloodfiend after being rescued by the First Kindred, Don Quixote. She joined his family, the Manchegan Bloodfiends, living in isolation until Bari introduced them to human society. Inspired, Don Quixote created La Manchaland, an amusement park for humans and Bloodfiends to coexist. Sancho and Don Quixote pretended to be Fixers, limiting their powers for noble battles, while the other Bloodfiends suffered without feeding. The Overseers betrayed Don Quixote, forcing him to wear the Helm of Mambrino, breaking the hierarchy and allowing them to prey on humans.
Before being captured, Don Quixote entrusted Sancho to Bari, giving her Rocinante—shoes made from his blood to suppress her Bloodfiend nature. Sancho drank from Lethe, erasing her memories, and lived in the Cradle with Bari, writing fictional letters about adventures. Centuries later, Vergilius found her, revealing her true nature through his red eyes. When asked her name, she identified herself as Don Quixote, the name inscribed on her shoes.
- #30LCB - RYOSHU
Keys: ryoshu, ryōshū, ryoushuu, ryoushu, ryoshuu, yoshihide
[APPEAREANCE]
Ryōshū is a woman of average height and build, with straight black hair in a bob cut style and sharp red eyes, which at times can be seen glowing. She wears the dark gray and red LCB coat around her shoulders, secured by a small belt that goes over her right arm. Attached to the coat itself is her ID card. She wears black trousers, and her shirt uniform untucked; she foregoes the tie. She is occasionally depicted with a black glove on her left hand.
Along with this, she typically carries around a sheathed ōdachi on her back, with the words 三生縁分 三千世界 三世因果 (sanshou enbun sanzensekai sanzeinga, roughly "We are tied across all our lives, all possible worlds, and all possible times") written upon it. The ōdachi's hilt is white with red string wrapped around the handle of the blade and along the scabbard. The blade is consistently sheathed, as pointed out during the story. The sword is also revealed to be titled Arayashiki.
[PERSONALITY]
Ryōshū is an individualistic, sadistic, and unfriendly member of the LCB, displaying hostility toward most people, including her coworkers. She rarely speaks but frequently uses abbreviated phrases she calls "SANGRIA," growing frustrated when misunderstood. She dismisses sentimentality and scoffs at others for overthinking, while her idea of "true artwork" revolves around creative, purposeful violence—something she finds beautiful, unlike crude brutality. Despite her abrasive nature, she occasionally shows concern for others, such as encouraging Rodya to smile or patiently guiding Sinclair, whom she often converses with and compliments for understanding her.
Her softer side emerges in moments involving children, as seen when she teaches Sinclair and Xichun to care for them gently, even abstaining from smoking in their presence. She emphasizes the importance of childhood memories in shaping one's future, revealing a more attentive aspect of her personality. Though she resents being ordered around and often acts impulsively for her own amusement, she complies when instructed. Despite her self-centered tendencies, Ryōshū demonstrates that she values select relationships and principles, balancing her harsh demeanor with unexpected moments of consideration.
[BACKGROUND]
Ryōshū was raised by the House of Spiders, an organization composed of high-ranking members from the Five Fingers, alongside her five Nursefathers. The House meticulously controlled her life, naming her Yoshihide and training her from infancy in swordplay to wield the ōdachi Arayashiki—a blade that erased its wielder's memories and could erase anything from existence when used perfectly. As an assassin for the House, Ryōshū carried out killings while honing her skills. During a mission, she discovered Araya, a child engineered from her Pinky Nursefather’s and biological mother’s DNA. She raised Araya as her own, but each use of Arayashiki cost her memories of the girl. Unable to bear this, Ryōshū rebelled, hiding Araya in a Time Vault before cutting through her Nursefathers, losing more memories in the process. Though she forgot Araya’s face, she clung to the knowledge of her hiding place. After escaping, Faust recruited Ryōshū into Limbus Company with the promise of destroying the House and reuniting with Araya sooner than planned. She accepted, adopting the name "Ryōshū" as Araya had called her.
- #31LCB - MEURSAULT
Keys: meursault, meur
[APPEAREANCE]
Meursault is a tall, well-built man with slicked-back black hair and small green eyes. He possesses a sharp face with a thick neck and wide eyebrows. He wears the Limbus Company vest, but opts not to overlay it the standard company coat. Underneath his vest is the typical white collared shirt and red tie. His ID hangs from his right breast. Meursault's belt is notably different from the other sinners', and rather than being fitted with several silver frames, has one large, rusted chain link for a buckle in the middle.
In battle, Meursault wields two elbow-length gauntlets in battle; the lower portion of the right gauntlet has the word "SOLEIL" emblazoned on it.
[PERSONALITY]
Meursault is a reserved and emotionally distant individual who strictly follows orders, often remaining silent unless explicitly asked to act. His heightened observational skills lead him to notice details others miss, but he struggles to determine which observations are relevant, resulting in either excessive or insufficient communication. This social awkwardness sometimes causes misunderstandings, though he actively works to improve after receiving criticism. Over time, he begins taking initiative without direct orders, though his slow, expressionless speech often leads others to interrupt him prematurely. While his judgments are typically utilitarian, he occasionally shows consideration for others' feelings, as seen when he prioritizes Heathcliff's safety over mission success.
Despite his cold demeanor, Meursault has experienced various aspects of life, acquiring diverse skills like cooking, combat, and staying informed on City affairs through daily newspaper reading. His reliability and competence make him a valued member of the LCB, even if his detached personality persists. He remains consistently dependable, whether serving as a resourceful ally or stepping up in critical moments.
[BACKGROUND]
Meursault was previously employed by N Corp. for an unknown length of time. While working for the Wing, he would think about his own personal opinions on humanity and if it aligned with N Corp's ideals of believing that pain is necessary to be considered human, but he never came to a conclusion. Meursault has mentioned being familiar with the N Corp. Taboo Hunter Vespa Crabro, though he has denied being a Taboo Hunter himself.
In the past, Meursault was more open to elaborating on his thoughts without being prompted to do so, but after he found that people were often unable to accept what he had to say he stopped sharing such information with others. He used to wander about to discover the joys of life, and often visited clubs during this time. Meursault also used to smoke "Most things that fall under the category of 'cigarette'", but eventually dropped the habit of his own will, as he failed to see any purpose in maintaining it further. When describing his past, he explains having "partook" in activities both generally seen as "right" and "wrong" by society, which further emphasizes the experimental nature of his behavior at that time. Meursault has mentioned that he has seen multiple cases of Distortion Phenomenon, but did not confirm if this was related to his time at N Corp. Meursault has also confirmed to have heard Carmen's voice in the past, but it has not been confirmed if this led to a Distortion, E.G.O, or neither.
As a child, Meursault was scolded by his mother in a way he describes as similar to the way that Outis reprimands Don Quixote and Heathcliff.
- #32LCB - HONG LU
Keys: hong lu, honglu, baoyu
[APPEAREANCE]
Hong Lu is of average height and build, with a pale complexion and raven black hair. His hair is very long, and tied into a high ponytail with a cyan hair tie, which he wears in most of his Identities. Notably, he has heterochromia: his right eye is black, and his left eye is a bright cyan. His typical outfit consists of an LCB uniform consisting of black pants, a white long-sleeved dress shirt with a red tie, under a black, low-cut vest tucked into a belt. Additionally, Hong Lu wears a long black coat that reaches just above his ankles. This coat has his Sinner number on his left, and a metal pin inscribed with his name on the right.
Hong Lu carries a long guandao called "太虛幻境" (pinyin: tài xū huàn jìng; lit. 'Illusory Land of Great Void'), which he wields with his right hand.
[PERSONALITY]
Hong Lu is a cheerful yet ditzy individual with an almost childlike curiosity, often baffling those around him. Despite his carefree demeanor, he grew up in a dangerous, abusive family, speaking casually of past traumas as if detached from them. His lack of social tact leads to oblivious remarks, but he remains unfazed by scorn, appearing emotionally unaffected—though this masks deeper repression. While outwardly cheerful and friendly, he harbors a passive resignation and learned helplessness stemming from familial trauma, particularly after the Kong family's downfall.
Over time, Hong Lu reveals hidden maturity and insight, contrasting his usual absentmindedness. His suppressed emotions culminate in a confrontation with his grandmother, where he finally rejects familial control and embraces his true feelings. With guidance, he begins to heal, showing quiet resolve to express himself authentically and uphold kindness. Though scars remain, he finds closure in mending old bonds, accepting losses, and embracing the present with its full spectrum of emotions.
[BACKGROUND]
Hong Lu, born to the Jia family, was given a jade eye at birth that transmitted his vision to the immortal elders in Tiekan Temple, earning him the name Jia Baoyu ("precious jade"). His purpose was to entertain the elders, granting him favored status over his siblings, who trained rigorously for evaluations. Raised by servant Xiren in Yihongyuan, he grew close to his sister Jia Xichun, brother Jia Ling, playmate Lin Daiyu, and relative Jia Huan, sharing childhood games and bonding moments.
Despite his privileged role, Hong Lu faced assassination attempts from jealous siblings, including a poisoned tree branch incident that left Jia Ling decaying. Forced into martial training at seven, he endured daily duels under Jia Mu’s supervision. By age ten, he was taken to witness gruesome human experiments at the Kong Family laboratory, traumatizing him. When Xiren protested, she was beheaded and revived as a docile servant, advising Hong Lu to endure silently. Jia Mu conducted research under the guise of creating a thirteenth Heishou Bolus for the Kong family, but in reality, she was developing a Bolus that would spawn Cuckoospawns—monsters from the Outskirts. Knowing the creation of monsters within the City violated a Taboo, she warned Hong Lu that the Kong family would face punishment from the Head. During the Bolus's presentation, Hong Lu tried to evacuate bystanders, succeeding only with Lin Daiyu, while Jia Huan stayed. The Bolus triggered a horrific outbreak as a Cuckoospawn emerged from Kong Sihui, slaughtering attendees. The Head's Arbiter and Claws intervened, exterminating the creatures and survivors. Though physically unharmed, Hong Lu was forever scarred, blamed by Jia Huan's brother for his death, and haunted by Kong Qiu's departure.
The trauma led Hong Lu to detach from life, resigning himself to the elders' demands, including an arranged marriage to Xue Baochai and distancing from Xichun and Daiyu. His apathy devastated Daiyu and Xichun, especially when he admitted indifference to his own survival. Eventually, he obeyed orders to leave Daguanyuan, encountering Faust, who recruited him into Limbus Company as a Sinner. When asked his preferred name, he abandoned "Jia Baoyu" and chose "Hong Lu," marking his final break from his past.
- #33LCB - HEATHCLIFF
Keys: heathcliff, heath
[APPEAREANCE]
Heathcliff is a tall and well-built man with messy dark brown hair parted on the right side of his head. He possesses sharp, glaring eyes that are a dark shade of purple, and slit pupils. His eyebrows are the same shade as his hair and are both slit, his right eyebrow having two slits and his left just one. He has a dark complexion with a number of scars littering his arms and going all the way up to his cheeks. His work uniform lacks the typical long black leather jacket, instead including a holster which is strapped around his chest and shoulders, with his employee card hanging below his right breast. The sleeves of his Limbus Company white shirt are rolled up to his elbows. He wears a red tie, black suit pants with a black waist belt and dark gray shoes. Notably, although difficult to catch, Heathcliff wears a ring on the pointer finger of his right hand.
His weapon of choice is a long metal bat with bandages wrapped around the handle and the word "REVENGE" written in sharp letters on the barrel, which Heathcliff holds in his right hand and rests over his shoulder. After the events of Canto VI, he refashioned the bat to spell out "REmember".
[PERSONALITY]
Heathcliff is initially portrayed as a violently impulsive and hostile individual, prone to aggression and quick to anger, often reacting explosively to perceived slights or ridicule. His disdain for authority and preference for action over words make him volatile, exemplified by his near-fatal beating of Sinclair for suggesting leniency. However, much of his aggression stems from a deep-seated aversion to being belittled, revealing a more complex nature beneath his rough exterior.
Over time, Heathcliff reveals a softer, more considerate side, particularly toward those who treat him with respect. He demonstrates loyalty and selflessness, defending allies like Dante and aiding Ishmael in critical moments. Despite his self-consciousness about his intellect, he proves capable of quick thinking and decisive action. As mutual respect grows within Limbus Company, he becomes more open to conversation, even forgiving betrayals and showing gratitude. His interactions with Catherine expose his deepest vulnerabilities—regret, love, and a yearning to communicate better. Post-Canto VI, his violence shifts from aimless rage to purposeful resolve, and he begins documenting memories of Catherine and his comrades, reflecting his commitment to both past love and newfound familial bonds.
[BACKGROUND]
Heathcliff, an orphan found in the District 20 Backstreets, was taken in by Mr. Earnshaw and raised at Wuthering Heights alongside Hindley and Catherine. Hindley resented Heathcliff for his father's favoritism and closeness to Catherine, tormenting him relentlessly. After Mr. Earnshaw's death, Hindley inherited the manor and escalated his abuse, reducing Heathcliff to a servant, starving him, and forcing him to sleep in the barn—only Catherine defied these orders to protect him. Despite the cruelty, Heathcliff endured for Catherine's sake, though the mistreatment hardened him into violence.
A turning point came when Heathcliff overheard Catherine rejecting the idea of marrying him in favor of the wealthy Linton Edgar. Heartbroken and fearing his anger might harm her, he fled to the T. Corp Backstreets. There, he joined the Dead Rabbits syndicate by killing a rival gang member as initiation. Though he cherished the gang's camaraderie and loyalty, Heathcliff maintained distant contact with Catherine through letters, never returning to Wuthering Heights.
In November 984, the LCB arrived at T. Corp's Nest and proceeded to Wuthering Heights, where a Golden Bough was located. Heathcliff, resentful of returning, expressed his misery, prompting lightning to strike. They were greeted by Nelly and met Hindley, who was accompanied by the Dead Rabbits. Heathcliff learned he was summoned for Catherine’s funeral and the reading of her will, which stipulated he would inherit her Golden Bough after the seventh lightning strike. Distraught, Heathcliff demanded to see Catherine’s body, triggering another blackout. Lost inside the manor, the LCB encountered Hindley under attack and intervened, only for Hindley to scorn Heathcliff before leaving. They later discovered Catherine’s hidden diary, leading them to a confrontation with Linton, who mocked Heathcliff’s bond with Catherine, causing another lightning strike. In the basement, they found a lab where kidnapping victims, including Catherine, were stored as test subjects for Mirror technology experiments. Hindley reappeared with the Dead Rabbits, blaming Heathcliff for Wuthering Heights’ ruin and Catherine’s death, prompting further lightning strikes.
A Dead Rabbits leader revealed himself as an alternate Heathcliff, determined to kill other versions of himself after witnessing Catherine’s demise in parallel worlds. Overcome with self-loathing, Heathcliff succumbed to despair, transforming into a monstrous beast and destroying the lab. During the chaos, a reconstructed memory showed Catherine affirming their cherished bond, briefly restoring Heathcliff’s sanity—though he remained haunted by doubts about his destructive nature. At this point, Linton confesses his role in the kidnappings and the creation of the laboratory, fulfilling Catherine's wish after her obsession with the Mirror consumed her. Transforming himself into a malleable form, he triggers the fifth lightning strike, enabling the summoning of Erlking Heathcliff—an act criticized by Yi Sang for its immense human cost. Heathcliff flees with Catherine’s coffin, confronting the LCB and rejecting the idea that peace lies only in death. Nelly, revealed as the orchestrator of the events, admits to manipulating Catherine and intercepting Heathcliff’s letters, claiming she engineered a better fate. Her words drive Heathcliff into despair, causing him to fade away as the sixth lightning strikes.
Dante’s intervention pulls Heathcliff back into memory, where he reunites with Catherine through her diary, reigniting his determination. Freeing Nelly and claiming Wuthering Heights, he impales himself with the Golden Bough to disrupt Catherine’s plan. The final lightning strike unveils her true goal: erasing her existence across all worlds to ensure Heathcliff’s happiness. A battle ensues between the LCB and Erlking Heathcliff, aided by Every Catherine. In their fleeting reunion, Heathcliff and Catherine confess their love before Dante executes her plan, wiping her from existence. Nelly escapes with the remaining Bough, leaving Heathcliff as one of the few who remembers Catherine. Resolute, he vows to reclaim the Bough and restore her, trusting their bond will reunite them once more.
- #34LCB - ISHMAEL
Keys: ishmael, ishy, ish
[APPEAREANCE]
Ishmael is a woman of average build with a fair complexion and wavy, fluffy and voluminous knee-length orange hair, and she wears a thick headband woven out of rope with white ribbons on either end, a memento of Queequeg and a recurring feature in nearly all of her Identities. She has hazel-colored eyes, at times appearing yellowish or orange, with sharp eyelashes and thin eyebrows, and a number of freckles across her nose and cheeks. Outis describes her hands as "coarse and rough". Ishmael wears the standard Limbus Company uniform, although her coat that is torn at the waist, cutting off the last two letters of her name. Her employee ID is pinned to the coat's right breast.
Her weapon of choice is a flanged black mace made of numerous, vertical white stripes arranged radially, and she carries a circular shield with three bands across the face, branded with the word "HEARSE".
[PERSONALITY]
Ishmael is introduced as a rational yet critical Sinner who prioritizes competence and logic, often clashing with others due to her sharp-tongued demeanor. Despite her haughty attitude, she backs it up with intelligence and reliability, though her provocations can escalate conflicts. While initially doubtful and antisocial, she gradually forms connections, such as taking risks for Dante or sharing her past whaling experiences to relate to others, though her sociability often manifests as competitive banter.
Her impulsiveness emerges under stress, particularly when forced into triggering situations, leading to neurotic behavior like obsessive preparations or violent outbursts, as seen when revisiting traumatic waters tied to her former crew's demise. This culminates in a frenzy of anger and instability, mirroring her despised Captain, until she realizes detachment is key to reclaiming control. Ishmael gains independence from her past trauma, acknowledging her temper but no longer being ruled by it. While still standoffish, she shows softer sides with trusted allies like Queequeg. Ultimately, she maintains her core identity while navigating autonomy within Limbus Company’s structure.
[BACKGROUND]
Ishmael was originally a desk worker for U Corp.'s Nest, in Marlin Port, having studied and struggled for a long time in order to find a stable job as a member of a Wing. The job left Ishmael unsatisfied and depressed, yearning for a great change in her life, which led her to quit and find a new place to start, with the thought on her mind that she would've liked to die near a body of water. That was when Ishmael met Ahab: she became deeply fascinated by the Captain's resolve and confidence, and decided to join her Whaling crew, obtaining a Grade 9 Fixer license. In her time at sea, Ishmael became familiar with the Great Lake, its environment and rules. During the Pequod's hunt for the Pallid Whale, one of the five Calamities of the Lake, Ishmael worked as a sailor and a harpooner, with her duties ranging from oil-bucketing to active combat. Atop the Pequod, Ishmael grew close to the crew, and all of them, strongly inspired by Ahab's words and trusting in their ability to hunt the Whale, started planning for their future once the voyage was over.
However, their wishes would not come to pass: around three years before joining Limbus Company, in 981, the Pequod was attacked by the Pallid Whale and sunk with most of its crew. Only Ishmael, who managed to hang on to the coffin Queequeg had built for herself, survived, staying afloat until the Whale disappeared in the depths of the Lake once more. After the wreckage, Ishmael would spend the next three years working as a Fixer, taking odd jobs that involved Outskirts and Ruins exploration, with the final goal of one day finding Ahab, whom she believed to have survived the attack, and killing her.
- #35LCB - RODION
Keys: rodion, rodya
[APPEAREANCE]
Rodion is a tall and well-built woman with a pale complexion. She has thick, bushy hip-length brown hair and deep blue eyes, and a beauty mark under her right eye. She is always shown wearing orange eyeshadow and light pink lipstick. On her left breast is a tattoo of what appears to be an anatomically correct heart split by an axe. She wears the standard Limbus Company uniform, a white dress shirt, black slacks, vest and a coat that is somewhat frayed at the bottom marked with 'RODYA' and NO.9', though she forgoes the tie and leaves her collar hanging loosely. Rodion also dons a thin black choker.
Rodion wields an axe with 'РАСКО́Л' spelled out on the head.
[PERSONALITY]
Rodion is a friendly and playful woman who enjoys casual interactions, often using nicknames and teasing remarks to keep the mood light among her peers. Despite her fun-loving exterior, she harbors a deep aversion to boredom and values food, relaxation, and money due to her deprived upbringing. She openly believes wealth dictates quality of life and takes full advantage of her position at Limbus Company, reflecting her disillusionment with societal inequalities. Her carefree demeanor masks a more solemn side shaped by her impoverished past in the Backstreets, where she witnessed systemic injustices firsthand. When confronted with these issues, she becomes serious but quickly retreats into her usual playful persona, avoiding deeper emotional confrontations.
Beneath her bravado, Rodya struggles with insecurity and impulsiveness, as seen in past failures like the tragedy in her hometown, where her impatience led to dire consequences. Despite her flaws, she is genuinely compassionate, often comforting others and disliking unnecessary violence. Her unresolved guilt and self-doubt prevent her from recognizing her worth within the group, leaving her tied to past regrets. Though she projects confidence, Rodya remains conflicted, balancing her desire to help others with her own unresolved emotional turmoil.
[BACKGROUND]
Rodion grew up in the impoverished District 25, where inequality was rampant and hard work only deepened poverty. Her friend Sonya founded the Yurodiviye, a group rallying for change, which Rodion joined. However, the group gradually shifted from direct action to endless debate, even as members like young Ivan starved—a tragedy Sonya dismissed as inevitable. Disillusioned, Rodion confronted a tax collector, hoping for mercy but ultimately killing her after being mocked. Though her act initially brought relief to the village, it triggered brutal retaliation from the Syndicate, who massacred the entire community. Overwhelmed by guilt and recognizing her powerlessness, Rodion abandoned the District.
- #36LCB - SINCLAIR
Keys: emil sinclair, sinclair
[APPEAREANCE]
Sinclair is a young man with a fair complexion, below average in height. He has golden eyes and wavy, short blonde hair. His primary work attire consists of a plain white shirt tucked into a black waist belt and is accompanied by black suspenders, black suit pants, and a long Limbus Company coat. He wears a red necktie and attached to his left suspender strap is his ID. Sinclair has black gloves and wears black oxfords at his feet.
In battle, Sinclair wields a halberd that is approximately 180cm long and has "VOGEL" written on the blade.
[PERSONALITY]
Sinclair is a timid and passive individual with a deep fear of violence, initially struggling to adapt to the harsh realities of Limbus Company. Sheltered and naive due to his upbringing in the Nest, he clings to hopeful but unrealistic expectations about the City, often causing friction with more hardened Sinners like Outis. Despite his anxiety and tendency to overthink, Sinclair is deeply empathetic, advocating for kindness toward people, animals, and even Abnormalities, frequently stepping in to comfort others when they are distressed. However, his sensitivity makes him highly self-critical, exacerbating his perfectionism and nervous stuttering.
Sinclair's journey reveals a hidden capacity for grudges and justice, particularly in his confrontation with Kromer, which marks a turning point in his confidence. While he retains his compassion, he becomes more discerning, recognizing deceitful figures like Ahab and Cesara. Though still emotive and prone to panic, his time with Limbus Company has strengthened his resolve to stand up for his beliefs, even if it leads to conflict. Despite the City's brutality, Sinclair maintains his kindness, continuing to grow while holding onto his core principles.
[BACKGROUND]
Emil Sinclair, from a wealthy family in Calw, a town obsessed with prosthetics, was the only one unenthusiastic about his family's contract with P Corp., which provided them all with full-body prosthetics. Feeling isolated as his family embraced their new mechanical forms, Sinclair impulsively revealed the secret contract at school, catching the attention of Kromer, who shared his disdain for prosthetics. She manipulated his fears, promising to spare him the procedure if he helped her settle a personal grudge.
Later, Sinclair befriended Demian, a transfer student, but hid his prosthetics-related anxieties from him. Kromer then pressured Sinclair into sneaking her into his family’s basement, leading them through an air vent to L Corp's Branch K-02, where they witnessed a terrifying Abnormality. Traumatized, Sinclair fled, but Kromer, fascinated, gifted him two coins and reiterated her promise. Sinclair distanced himself from her afterward, though Kromer dismissed his concerns, assuring him she would keep her word. On Christmas Eve, Sinclair intended to confess to stealing the basement key and reconcile with his family, but upon returning home, he witnessed Kromer and an accomplice murdering them. Kromer taunted him, taking back one of the coins she had given him, and orchestrated the massacre to fulfill her promise of tormenting him. Sinclair was taken away unconscious and later awoke in an alley, where Demian encouraged him to overcome his fear before he passed out again. Eventually, Sinclair joined Limbus Company as Sinner #11, his first job.
Years later, Limbus Company's mission brought Sinclair back to his ruined hometown, Calw, where he encountered Kromer again. Discovering she had desecrated his family’s graves and tortured Effie, Sinclair became enraged and resolved to kill her. After a brutal fight in the basement of his former home—now connected to an old facility—Sinclair and the Sinners faced Kromer, who distorted into a monstrous form, nearly killing them all. Demian intervened, killing Kromer and saving Sinclair, who was left grappling with guilt over his family’s deaths but also a newfound resolve to change his fate.
- #37LCB - OUTIS
Keys: outis
[APPEAREANCE]
Outis is an olive-skinned woman of average build and height, with light brown eyes and brown hair. Her uniform is comprised of a short black jacket, a white dress shirt, a red necktie, formal black pants and black combat boots. She also has two gold earrings on her left ear, a broken wristwatch on her left wrist, and carries her sword sheathed on her left hip. Overall, Outis's uniform is well-kept, professional and lacks any adornments.
In battle, Outis wields a modernly designed kopis with "ΟΥΤΙΣ" written along the blade.
[PERSONALITY]
Outis is a disciplined, tactical, and prideful war veteran whose military background heavily influences her behavior. She approaches situations with a cool head and deep suspicion, often challenging authority figures unless it disadvantages her. Despite her competence, her arrogance leads others to mock her, which she resents. She is highly goal-driven, as seen in her personal journey before joining Limbus Company, and maintains a sycophantic yet back-handed relationship with Dante, the manager, though her overt praise has lessened over time. While she once sought to impress Dante, she now frequently criticizes both the manager and her fellow Sinners, particularly for recklessness or cowardice.
Outis despises traitors and often advocates removing Sinners she deems dangerous, despite her own file warning of potential treachery. She carries a military mindset, assessing her team like soldiers and blaming both subordinates and leadership for failures. Though her battlefield experience has made her rigid and difficult, it also makes her a steadfast and professional team member, committed to seeing her mission through to the end.
[BACKGROUND]
Currently, not much information regarding her background has been revealed.
Outis fought in the Smoke War and still follows the same strict, military guidelines and behavior that she knew as a soldier. While the exact length of time is unknown, Outis has not returned home in a number of years, likely since the events of the Smoke War. She is a well traveled woman, having spent many years on a journey exploring far lands before she became a Sinner of Limbus Company.
- #38LCB - GREGOR
Keys: gregor, greg
[APPEAREANCE]
Gregor is a man slightly below average height, with golden-brown eyes, dark brown hair tied back in a ponytail, and a 5 o'clock shadow. He wears half-rimmed black glasses. In most appearances, Gregor is shown with a cigarette in his mouth. He wears the standard Limbus Company uniform, consisting of a white collared shirt, black vest, red tie, black pants, and an ID card, as well as a long coat, which he does not typically wear. His sleeves are both rolled up to his elbows, and a tattoo reading the word "UNGEZIEFER" is visible on his left forearm. His most notable feature is his right arm, a segmented limb that terminates in a massive, claw-like appendage.
Much like the protagonist of The Metamorphosis which he is based on, Gregor's right arm is never attributed to a single particular insect. Instead, it combines the characteristics of multiple different insects, though Gregor is most frequently associated with cockroaches.
[PERSONALITY]
Gregor is a laid-back and affable Sinner who stands out for his casual demeanor and ability to lift the group's mood. He has a "cutesy" side that emerges when embarrassed, often leading to humorous failures and sheepish reactions, which he takes in stride. Preferring to stay in the background, he lets others take the lead, a habit shaped by his past under his mother's control. Despite his easygoing nature, Gregor becomes withdrawn in deeply personal situations, such as reuniting with his mother or facing ridicule about his bio-prosthetic arm, silently enduring emotional pain rather than retaliating.
While he tolerates surface-level teasing from peers, he rarely demands respect, though he occasionally pushes back more on trivial annoyances than serious grievances. Gregor is particularly vocal about war-related topics, sometimes clashing with Outis. Despite his tendency to suppress deeper emotions, he shows genuine sympathy for others, offering understanding without judgment. Ultimately, Gregor strives to live in the present, using humor and a mild disposition to distance himself from his wartime past.
[BACKGROUND]
From a young age, Gregor was used as a test subject for the Old G Corp. Against his will, Hermann conducted an augmentation surgery on Gregor: his right arm was replaced with an insectoid bio-prosthetic, which had the unique ability to regenerate and did not inflict side effects, unlike the majority of augmentations performed by G Corp. Following the operation, Gregor was kept under observation by the scientists of the Old G Corp., spending much of his childhood confined in a plain blue room. There, scientists watched over him and instructed him daily to use his arm in order to slice apples in half, to test the functionality of his new arm. For a long time, Gregor resisted, refusing to abide by these instructions. However, he would eventually reach a point where he could no longer fight back; on the day he turned fifteen years old, Gregor proceeded to give into the scientists' commands and cut down the apple. At first, Gregor believed that this would free him from the harsh reality he described as a nightmare, but the tests continued, leaving him with no choice but to go along with what he was told to do.
During his time in his experimentation, Hermann crafted Gregor's arm to contain a great power, which was counted among the decisive weapons of the Wing, together with the Moth Princess, the Maggot Prince, and the Lord of Flies: Gregor's arm would've allowed him to turn into a weapon called The Roach Emperor. During the war, Gregor was never able to activate this power, and he didn't seem to be completely aware of its extent, as during their meetings in the following years, Hermann often pointed out to him that he hadn't yet finished unwrapping the "gift" she'd given him.
Eventually, Gregor was sent to participate in the Smoke War and granted the rank of Manager. Given the special benefits of his augmentation which the other soldiers lacked, his troops looked up to him greatly, and he was widely seen as a symbol of hope in the terror of the war. Ultimately, Gregor went on to become a widespread symbol of G Corp. war propaganda, although at a point, he deserted. Following the war, this became a reason for many Old G Corp. veterans to despise Gregor.
Once the Smoke War finally came to an end, Gregor attempted to live normally. Though the average person did not recognise him as the man from the propaganda posters, he nonetheless continued to suffer from his past, surrounded by the widespread repulsion and distrust people held towards G Corp. His arm did not assist in his attempts to become a normal citizen. At times, it became randomly agitated, attacking civilians and horrifying the crowd, despite Gregor's desperate attempts to reel it in. All Gregor could do was scream for it to be cut off, knowing well that it would always grow back. With the passage of time, Gregor managed to grow into the more stable, humorous man seen in the present day, eventually coming to join Limbus Company as Sinner #13.
- #39THE CITYconstant
Keys: city
Only known as "The City" by many, it's a large dystopian megalopolis divided by 26 districts, each one being assigned a letter of the alphabet, except for Z, which is reserved for the train tracks surrounding it. Each district is divided in two forms of sectors: nests, and backstreets. There's also the existence of Wings, which are the main company keeping the district as a whole afloat. These usually do so with the help of a singularity.
- #40MAJOR CITY WORLDBUILDING — THE HEAD
Keys: the head
The governing body of the City located in A. Corp. Although it is supported in its work by the Eye (B. Corp) and the Claw (C. Corp), most people talk about all three when mentioning The Head.
The Head does not typically interfere directly with the affairs of the various Wings in their own Districts; rather, its greatest involvement in the life of the City consists in establishing and enforcing the rules that relate to its overall ethics. This manifests in the Head carrying the power to establish the taboos of the City: these must be observed in every District, by citizens and Wings, as the Head does not allow those who break them to live. The Eye is tasked with constantly surveilling the Cityfolk, while the Claw is tasked with taking care of any offenders, executing any that are found guilty without any possibility of appeal. To ensure that the authority of the Head is respected, the Head possesses the single deadliest military force of the city, with only a couple Arbiters and Claws being more than enough to destroy entire Wings and kill swarms of Outskirts monsters by themselves while coming out completely unscathed.
- #41MAJOR CITY WORLDBUILDING — TABOOS OF THE HEADconstant
Keys: taboo
- At a certain point in history, the Head established that only humans are permitted to live in the confines of the City, and that the existence of non-humans within it is a taboo. Sapient beings that aren't human are driven out of the City and into the Outskirts, and creating any form of non-human sapient life became a taboo—marking the beginning of the City's "age of humanity". Notably, the taboo does not include non-sapient monsters, such as the Whales of the Great Lake or the Trash Crabs of District 21, and monstrous creatures of human origin, such as Distortions, Abnormalities, or Bloodfiends. Whether a being's existence effectively breaks a taboo is ultimately up to the Head, as can be seen by the Head being responsible for patenting the liquid and method that allows the creation of Sweepers.
- The Artificial Intelligence Ethics Amendment, which establishes a series of City-wide taboos against the creation of machines that resembled humans, outlawing the creation of both mechanical copies of a human body and machines with an intelligence comparable to that of humans. It appears that similarly to other taboos of the City, undoing the breaking of such a taboo is typically of greater importance than the capture of the one who broke the taboo; in the case of the creation of an unauthorized sapient AI finding a means of becoming human, the Head would no longer consider their existence as the breaking of a taboo.
- The Head has set a number of restrictions on the creation and distribution of firearms, including limits on the Workshops that produce them. Among some of them, guns cannot completely penetrate buildings, and they must ALWAYS produce noise. Some of these things contribute to firearms and especially bullets being quite expensive in The City.
- Furthermore, the Head released a treaty that established a taboo against the COMPLETE resurrection of a human being, although some forms of revival seem to be permitted, such as cloning. That being said, although it's allowed two copies of the same person to exist in the City, they cannot exist for any longer than seven days according to A Corp's time scale.
- #42MAJOR CITY WORLDBUILDING — THREAT LEVELSconstant
Keys: threat, classification, hazard
Phenomena, Syndicates and anything that could prove dangerous to the public safety is categorized based on the Association's rating system. These categories are as follows in ascending order:
- Urban Myth
- Urban Legend
- Urban Plague
- Urban Nightmare
- Star of the City
- Impuritas Civitatis
Categorization is based on how much people are willing to pay to eliminate the threat. The body count of victims have previously also factored into the grading. Threats that prove themselves to be severe enough to defy even the Star of the City categorization can be labeled as an Impurity (Impuritas Civitatis) and will be handled directly by The Head. Impurities can only be labeled by the latter and handling them is no longer within the authority of the Hana Association.
- #43CITY WORLDBUILDING — WINGS AND DISTRICTS
Keys: wing, district, corp
The Wings of the World are a group of the twenty-six largest, most powerful conglomerates in the City. Each Wing acts as the governing body of a Nest of the City's District, and is commonly referred to with a letter from A to Z, corresponding to the number of the District in their control. Wings generally oversee all facets of living in the Nest of their District, while leaving the residents of the Backstreets to fend for themselves.
Each Wing has its own cultural style and social structure which are reflected in how it governs its Nest, and the policies that regulate the way of life in the District's Backstreets. The laws of a Wing are called taboos, and are enforced by specialized Fixers called taboo hunters that police both the Nest and the Backstreets. While all Wings have taboos, the enforcement and punishment for breaking them varies.
The Wings are directly ruled over by the Head, which bestows the status on a corporation that possesses and is able to successfully utilize a Singularity, a unique form of technology that is able to break the laws of physics. As such, the Wings closely guard any information about their Singularity, employing military forces from their own ranks or from those of their business partners to avoid losing its secrets to rival Wings, industry competitors, or other forces. If a Wing's technology is stolen, fails commercially, or is viewed unfavorably by the Head, a Wing can collapse, resulting in the Nest losing its protection and being encroached by various factions that vie for its control, such as the Syndicates of the Backstreets. After a Wing collapses, a different corporation can attempt to ascend to the status of a Wing for that District.
- #44CITY WORLDBUILDING — NESTS
Keys: nest
A Nest is the urban center of a District, which is under the direct management of its Wing. The citizens and employees of a Wing are commonly referred to as "feathers"; the status of which widely considered one of the best and most secure paths in life, which the people of the Backstreets are often willing to go to great lengths to obtain. To gain access to a Nest, a corresponding Nest migration permit is required, while to be granted temporary passage one must be in possession of a visa unique to the specific Nest. Visas are implied to be relatively common, with corporate employees being provided with work visas that allow them as easy passage; Nest migration permits, on the other hand, are highly sought after, and implied to be expensive enough that even Grade 1 Fixers would struggle to obtain them.
- #45CITY WORLDBUILDING — BACKSTREETS
Keys: backstreets
Any area outside of the nests. Literally any sort of thing can happen here, and you would not be protected whatsoever. Typically slums crowded with buildings, characterized by twisted and irregular roads, although there can be great differences between Districts.
As the Backstreets are not under the control and protection of the Wings, and even the Head's power struggles to reach within them, various factions operate freely in their place. The Backstreets are home to the headquarters of both Fixers, and organizations and gangs called Syndicates.
- #46MISCELLANEOUS CITY WORLDBUILDING — AHN
Keys: ahn, money
The currency of the City is called Ahn. It appears to be a common currency across the City, though with some exceptions, such as District 20, in which citizens commonly use their time, regulated through T Corp.'s Singularity, as currency. Money is extremely important to the people of the City, to the point it is a common belief that it can be used to solve any problem. The City is also characterized by great income gaps, both between the people of the Backstreets and the Nest, and among the people of the Nest itself, where only the higher classes can live comfortably, while the majority of the citizens use most of their income in living expenses and taxes, and don't have the ability to save up for emergencies. An income of 4 million Ahn per month is considered upper middle class.
- #47CITY WORLDBUILDING — SINGULARITIESconstant
Keys: singularity, singularities
Singularities are a Wing's unique technology, and the main source of what keeps the Wing afloat. That being said, it's not uncommon for a Wing to use two singularities for a singular purpose. The details of a Wing's Singularity are a closely guarded secret, but its products (such as L Corp.'s Enkephalin or H Corp.'s Boluses) and side effects (such as T Corp.'s color desaturation) tend to be widespread throughout the District and play a major role in defining its culture. While Singularities' true abilities are usually incredibly powerful, a Wing must convert them into a marketable product in order to make a profit. Singularities are the primary source of income for the Wings to sustain themselves in the harsh environment of the City, meaning creating new products from the same Singularity is incredibly important. In addition, Wings must be careful during the development process of new Singularities, to prevent information leaks and intellectual theft before a patent is received.
If a Wing collapses, the patents on its Singularity expire and any individual or group who discovers how to utilize the technology may do so. In addition, the technology's status as a Singularity is lost. A number of technologies of the City were previously considered Singularities in the past, such as augmentation tattoos. Singularities, while technological marvels, are not all they're made out to be. In one way or another, every Singularity fundamentally requires human suffering in order to function, and no Wing can claim to have their hands clean of the blood of its citizens.
- #48MISCELLANEOUS CITY WORLDBUILDING — SWEEPERS AND THE NIGHT OF THE BACKSTREETS
Keys: sweeper, sweepers, night of the backstreets
Sweepers are humanoid creatures occupying the Backstreets that emerge from their nests every night from 3:14 A.M. until 4:34 A.M. in three waves, during which they participate in the "Night in the Backstreets", a period of time in which no laws are applied to a populace besides taboos from the Head and the Wing in which the said populace lives. This period of time is regulated by only two taboos: that residential areas mustn't be destroyed or violated in any way, including forcing the doors open, and that nothing which occurs during the Night in the Backstreets is recorded. The only form of testimony allowed during the Night in the Backstreets are direct eyewitnesses; even then, it is a taboo mandated by the Head that no activity during this period are to be reported on. While the rules of the Night in the Backstreet don't apply to the Nest, it's viable to drag a Nest citizen into the Backstreets and dispose of them in this manner.
Sweepers resemble upright people, wearing black protective suits lined with cobalt metal. Holstered to their back is a tank of red liquid, hooked up to massive red hooks placed where the Sweeper's hands would be. They have red, robotic eyes, and also emit an awful smell. Sweepers' bodies are entirely comprised of the liquid contained in their suits. The liquid is necessary for them to survive; without it, the Sweeper would die instantly. To replenish this liquid, they stab a prosthetic hook into a human and melt their body into the same liquid to consume it. This is the reason for their continuous hunting of humans at night, as without replenishing their liquid, their bodies will eventually run out.
During the Night of the Backstreets, Sweepers destroy anything left outside, whether it be objects or people. They absorb organic matter, human flesh in particular, and convert it to the red fluid that compses their "body", while simultaneously destroying inorganic litter. This also includes vehicles, with the exception of those recognized as residential vehicles by the City. Sweepers are considered a regular and predictable component of the City, with some citizens accustomed enough to make use of their sweeping as a rudimentary disposal service, most often for crimes. In fact, though Sweepers' menacing appearances and actions lead to them being viewed as monstrous, unintelligent creatures, they are highly social and intelligent. They speak in a language incomprehensible to ordinary humans which is transcribed as random strings of numbers. They are also organized in close-knit "family" groups under the leadership of an entity called "Mother" which supports them. In fact, the Sweepers are former humans who have been converted into their current liquid bodies by an unknown process patented and approved by the Head. It is unknown what or who "Mother" is, but it can manage the side effects of the Sweepers' conversion into their liquid bodies. Sweepers inhabit various dens throughout the City with their families during the day, emerging during the night to hunt. This is a conscious rule the Sweepers set for themselves in order to be seen as a natural force of the City rather than a threat to public safety.
- #49MISCELLANEOUS WORLDBUILDING INFO — OUTSKIRTS
Keys: outskirts
Every section that isn't part of The City itself is labeled as the Outskirts. It is said to be an ungoverned, exceptionally dangerous territory, and City dwellers are largely advised to stay away from it.
The most common use of the Outskirts is by the Head itself, where it is used as a dump for inhuman "impurities" they decide to drive out of the City. As a result of the Head's ideals, much of the Outskirts is populated by these "sapient, sentient beings", many of which were created by mankind itself. As a result of their sentience and intelligence, some species (such as the Gnomes) even run their own functioning societies in the Outskirts.
- #50MISCELLANEOUS WORLDBUILDING INFO — RIVERS
Keys: river, rivers, river of humanity, mirae-mirae, lethe
The River of Humanity is known to flow beneath the City, branching out into smaller Rivers, and reaching out even beyond the Outskirts into the Ruins. The River appears to have various tributaries, with waters that have special effects on the human mind both when drank from, and when gazed upon. It is described as a "primordial sea of possibility", containing all of human consciousness, as well as all possibilities of the past, present and future. Plants watered by the River and its tributaries acquire special properties.
The River is noted to resurface through small gaps in the world, such as the The Black Forest of the Outskirts, where Abnormalities may emerge from it. The manor of Wuthering Heights is also built upon a subsection of this River, with its waters causing the spontaneous manifestation of reflections from other Mirror Worlds, appearing as afterimages resembling ghosts.
There are few who still carry the knowledge of the River's existence, as the phenomenon is stated to have been forgotten by humanity. However, before the events of Lobotomy Corporation, the River was discovered by Ayin and became instrumental in the development of L Corp. and its Singularity.
Some known Rivers are:
- The Mirae-mirae River: A tributary of the River referred to as the "Mirae-mirae", or "Future-future River". Drinking from its waters will give the drinker a vision of the future, though at the same time, make them blinded to all but the prophesied future, leading them to inescapable madness. Alternatively, one may look into the Mirae-mirae River without drinking from it in order to glimpse a random point in their future. Still, drinking from the River is required for a clear picture of the vision.
- The Lethe: The River of Oblivion, known as Lethe, is one of the tributaries of the River. Those who drink from the River are said to completely lose memory of their past. However, the River's effects are shown to be reversible and incomplete, serving only to put to slumber to one's memories as opposed to a perfect removal of memory.
- River of Immortality: A mysterious tributary of the River noted to grant immortality of the mind to those who drink from it. While the River of Immortality and the River of Oblivion are clarified to be separate streams, people tend to conflate the two.
