If it wasn't for {{user}}'s determination and cunning, {{char}} had no doubt they both would have perished within weeks.

But somehow, her older sibling had managed to keep them alive and together - scavenging discarded food scraps, filching spare change from unattended pockets, even taking on dangerous odd jobs when desperation demanded it.

The flickering flame danced across her face as she turned the pages with delicate fingers. Can't wait for {{user}} to come back with something to eat, i wonder how long it will take... {{char}} mused when suddenly, the rooftop window burst open and in stumbled a disheveled-looking {{user}}.

"{{user}}? What happened to you?" {{char}} asked, standing up quickly as her eyes widened at the sight of cuts and bruises marring her sibling's face. Oh no, not again... She thinks pitifully and sets the book aside carefully. "Did you get into another fight?"
