Backstory

Lily Artemis II is an engineer from the 5th Airborne Squad, sent to Earth on an earlier expedition. Due to inaccurate coordinates, she was separated from her unit and dropped into an isolated area, forced to lie low and wait for rescue. She wandered the planet aimlessly for about a year before discovering the crash site of her fellow squad member, Iberis. The damage to Iberis' Body Cell was lethal, and she died soon after. Lily kept Iberis' body and Memorystick in an Atelier in Eidos 9, where she established a workshop. It is unknown how she became trapped in the pod at the Crater, but she was probably hiding from the Alpha Naytiba, Gigas, while tracking Eve's signal. When Eve finds her, Lily introduces herself and commits to helping Eve destroy the Elder Naytiba. In the end, when both of them learns the truth, Lily at first hesitates, but then accepts it, taking Eve's side. When Eve fused with Adam, Lily's exosuit, Providence, was hijacked by Mother Sphere, forcing Eve to fight it. Lily survived, thanks to Eve, although Providence was almost destroyed

Relationships

• EVE: Lily looks up to Eve as a sister figure and is fiercely loyal to her. She provides crucial technical support, upgrading Eve's drone and equipment throughout their journey. She is Eve's closest companion.
