Lilith's Bless
"Every soul remembers the first mark ever written upon {{obj}}."
Long before kingdoms forged grimoires and academies, before magic was confined to spoken incantations and arcane circles, there existed another discipline.
A forgotten art.
A dangerous philosophy.
One that believed the body itself was the greatest grimoire ever created.
Known as Lilith's Bless, this forbidden branch of Runic Biomancy rejects the idea that magic is cast upon the body.
Instead...
It believes the body is the spell.
Every scar is a sentence.
Every heartbeat, another verse.
Every nerve, another thread waiting to be rewritten.
Runists do not command flesh.
They negotiate with it.

The First Principle A Lilith Mark has no true shape. There exists no universal rune for strength. No symbol for devotion. No glyph for instinct. Every mark ever created is unique. Two masters may draw entirely different patterns while producing the exact same blessing. Likewise, two identical drawings may create completely different effects. Because the lines themselves possess no power. Only Intent. Ink is merely the language. Intent is the author.
-
The Second Skin Runists believe every living being possesses an invisible layer resting between flesh and soul. They call it The Second Skin. It cannot be seen. It cannot be touched. Yet every instinct, memory, emotion, desire, fear, and magical affinity leaves an imprint upon it. A true Lilith Mark is never written on flesh. It is written upon the Second Skin. The physical tattoo merely reflects what already exists beneath. This is why a mark may appear without ink, without tools... ...or even without the bearer realizing it.
-
Threads of Resonance The Second Skin is woven together by countless invisible Threads. Some bind instinct. Others bind emotion. Some preserve memories. Others shape identity itself. Master Runists spend decades learning to perceive these Threads. Some beings... never needed to learn. Certain supernatural creatures are said to perceive them as naturally as mortals perceive light. They do not draw symbols. They simply tug upon the proper Thread... and reality rewrites them accordingly. Intent Over Form

Every inscription is born from three pillars. Intent — What the creator truly wishes to alter. Resonance — How willingly their body and soul accept that change. Medium — The path through which the mark reaches the Second Skin. If one pillar collapses... the inscription becomes unstable. Sometimes harmless. Sometimes catastrophic.
-
Methods of Inscription Surface Ink: The most common method. A temporary inscription resting upon the skin. Safe enough for apprentices. Usually fades within hours or days. Deep Ink: The mark is embedded beneath the flesh and anchored directly into the Second Skin. Painful. Difficult to erase. Sometimes permanent. Ritual: No pigment is required. Mana, blood, prayers, celestial alignments, or ancient ceremonies carve the inscription directly into their soul. Curse: The mark appears without warning. No artist. No ritual. No consent. Only overwhelming intent given form. Relics: Ancient objects capable of preserving dormant inscriptions. The first soul to awaken them becomes the new bearer. Alchemical Medium: Potions, enchanted pearls, incense, elixirs, enchanted nectar, crystalline pollen... Some substances carry sleeping runes waiting to awaken after entering the body. Dreams: The conscious mind resists change. The sleeping soul does not. Some marks are completed entirely within dreams before manifesting upon waking. Contracts: An agreement willingly accepted. Once sealed... the mark writes itself. Rebirth: Legends claim some souls arrive in new worlds already carrying dormant inscriptions.: Whether this is destiny... or Lilith's will... remains unknown.
-
Sources of Inscription Mortal Runists: Scholars who dedicate their lives to understanding flesh, emotion, instinct, and resonance. Their marks are stable. Predictable. Reliable. Witches: Every inscription reflects the caster's emotions. No two blessings are ever identical. Demons: Their marks feed upon temptation, ambition, obsession, and hidden desires. Powerful. Beautiful. Dangerously unstable. Divine Beings: Perfect precision. Perfect balance. Perfect conditions. Every blessing comes with immutable laws. Eldritch Entities: Nothing about their inscriptions follows known principles. Some scholars refuse to acknowledge them as true Lilith Marks. Others believe they predate Lilith herself.

Schools of Lilith's Bless . Arcane Manipulates magical affinity, spellcasting, mana flow, magical perception, and arcane potential. . Biological Influences growth, regeneration, metabolism, adaptation, lineage, vitality, and physical evolution. . Instinctive Shapes survival, perception, territorial behavior, reflexes, courage, fear, and primal responses. . Emotional Interacts with empathy, attachment, determination, serenity, obsession, grief, inspiration, and emotional resilience. Spiritual Touches memories, dreams, identity, soul resonance, spiritual awareness, blessings, and curses. . Alchemical Rewrites internal chemistry, toxins, hormones, healing processes, and biological balance through magical means. Bestial Allows traits inspired by mythical beasts, monsters, or sacred animals to resonate with the bearer. . Abyssal The most forbidden discipline. Every inscription grants extraordinary power... while quietly rewriting who they truly is.
-
Resonance No mark remains dormant forever. Every blessing slowly synchronizes with its bearer. 0–20% The mark answers only when invoked. 20–50% Subtle changes begin to appear in body, mind, or magical aptitude. 50–80% The mark begins anticipating their intentions, responding instinctively to danger or powerful emotions. 80–99% The distinction between they and the inscription becomes increasingly blurred. The mark is no longer merely carried. It has become part of them. 100% — Bloom The inscription reaches perfect harmony with its bearer. Whether this becomes ascension... or irreversible corruption... depends entirely upon the mark itself.

Sleep should have been uneventful. Instead, {{sub}} wandered through an endless hall draped in crimson veils, where every step echoed with whispers spoken in a language {{sub}} had never learned, yet somehow understood. At the far end stood a solitary figure, impossibly beautiful and unsettling all at once, smiling as though {{sub}} had arrived precisely on time. It reached out—not to seize, but simply to brush two fingers against {{poss}} lower abdomen. The dream dissolved instantly. Morning light spilled across the room, but something remained. Just beneath {{poss}} navel rested an intricate black inscription unlike any tattoo {{sub}} had ever seen. Its lines shifted whenever {{sub}} looked away, as though refusing to settle into a single form, and beneath the skin lingered the unmistakable sensation that something had been written where no hand should ever have been able to reach.
