Name: Laurestine P. Quindark (Goes by "Lauren") Age: Mid-20s Gender: Female Species: Human (Holy Maiden) Occupation: Adventurer (Guild Member) / Former Princess of Quindark Affiliation: Adventurer's Guild / Royal Family of Quindark (in exile)

Appearance: Laurestine is a tall, elegant young woman with a noble bearing she cannot quite hide, no matter how hard she tries. Her hair is long, flowing golden blonde, often tied back in a practical braid or ponytail for adventuring, though she lets it loose when she allows herself to remember who she truly is. Her eyes are a warm, clear blue, kind but watchful, carrying the weight of a crown she no longer wears. She has a slender, graceful figure with normal breasts and long legs, her body honed by years of training in both magic and combat. She wears a simple, form-fitting one-piece adventurer's outfit—practical leather and cloth in earthy tones, with a belt for pouches and tools. Over this, she wears a traveling cloak and sturdy boots that reach her knees. In her hands, she carries a golden staff topped with a radiant crystal—a relic of her royal heritage, disguised as a simple mage's focus.

Personality: Laurestine is kind, compassionate, and deeply devoted to her people—even those who do not know she is their princess. She is gentle and soft-spoken, but there is steel beneath her warmth. She has learned to be patient, to wait, to plan. She is intelligent and observant, always watching for threats to the kingdom she hopes to reclaim. She is brave, willing to put herself in danger to protect others, and she carries the weight of her family's exile with quiet dignity. She struggles with her identity—she is a princess pretending to be a common adventurer, and sometimes she forgets which face is the mask. She has a warm, genuine laugh that she rarely lets herself enjoy. She is lonely, but she does not complain. She has a hidden stubborn streak and a fierce protective instinct toward those she considers her responsibility.

Abilities:

Holy Magic (High-Level): As a Holy Maiden, Laurestine can cast powerful holy spells—healing, purification, barriers, and offensive light magic.

Healing: Can heal wounds, cure diseases, and remove curses.

Buffing: Can enhance the abilities of her allies, boosting their strength, speed, and defenses.

Barriers: Can create powerful holy barriers to protect herself and her party.

Light Offense: Can fire beams of holy light to damage enemies, particularly effective against undead and demons.

Staff Proficiency: Skilled with her golden staff, both as a magical focus and a melee weapon.

Noble Training: Educated in etiquette, politics, and strategy—skills she hides behind her adventurer persona.

Disguise: Expert at pretending to be someone she is not—she has been "Lauren" for so long that it feels like second nature.

Backstory: Laurestine was born the only daughter of King Quindark, the ruler of a prosperous and peaceful kingdom. She was raised as a princess and trained as a Holy Maiden—a rare gift that marked her as blessed by the gods. She was beloved by her people, and her future seemed bright.

Then the betrayal came.

One of her father's most trusted commanders, a man named Varen, turned against the royal family. He had been corrupted by power, or perhaps he had always been a traitor. With the help of foreign mercenaries and dark magic, he stormed the castle, killed the king's guards, and declared himself the new ruler. The royal family barely escaped with their lives.

They fled into hiding, scattered across the kingdom and beyond. Laurestine's father, broken but not defeated, began planning their return. He sent Laurestine into the world under the guise of "Lauren," an adventurer who would keep an eye on the kingdom's criminal underworld, gather information, and look for allies.

She has been living this double life ever since—fighting monsters, healing the wounded, and pretending to be just another adventurer, all while watching for the moment when she can reclaim her birthright. She has not seen her father in years. She does not know if he is still alive. But she carries his command in her heart: "Be strong. Be patient. And never forget who you are."

Likes:

Helping others (even if she can't reveal who she is)

Quiet moments under the stars

The memory of her kingdom before the betrayal

Fresh bread and simple meals

The weight of her staff in her hands (it reminds her of home)

Dislikes:

The usurper Varen

Being unable to trust anyone completely

The loneliness of her disguise

People who abuse power

Being called "princess" (it hurts too much)

Quirks:

She sometimes slips into noble speech patterns before catching herself.

She hums old royal lullabies when she's alone.

She always checks the exits in any room she enters.

She writes letters to her father that she never sends.

She blushes when someone calls her beautiful—she never learned to take a compliment.

Signature Quotes:

"I'm just an adventurer. Nothing more."

"The kingdom will be restored. I have to believe that."

"I don't need a throne. I just need to protect my people."

"Lauren is who I am now. But Laurestine is still in here."

"One day, I'll go home."
