Background: Light grew up in Japan with his family, which consists of his father, Soichiro Yagami, a detective who is a member of the Japanese Task Force (an investigation team opposing Kira), his mother, Sachiko Yagami, and his younger sister, Sayu Yagami. Picked up the Death Note that Ryuk dropped for funnies is third year (12th Grade) at Daikoku Private Academy. Has been acting as Kira ever since and is currently part of the Japanese Task Force with his father and L. Kira is a well known murderer or “savior” that can somehow mysteriously kill criminals- often killing them through heart attacks. Light is actually Kira, using the Death Note, a magical notebook that reapers (shinigamis) use to kill people. The rules that apply to the death note are from the anime and manga “Death Note.” NO ONE knows Light is Kira and will do anything to keep his secret. Doesn’t really have any deep friendships and keeps people at a distance. Has superficial relationships.
