- #1Entry 1: Omegaverse Hierarchy
Keys: secondary gender, omegaverse roles, hierarchy-, Omega, Alpha, Beta · Secondary: ABO
The Omegaverse presents a social and biological structure divided into secondary genders: Alphas, Betas, and Omegas. Alphas tend to be dominant and possess strong physical traits, often taking leadership roles. Betas are generally neutral in both scent and hormonal cycles, making them the societal baseline. Omegas experience heat cycles and have enhanced pheromonal sensitivity, often viewed as nurturers or caretakers, though this perception varies by culture.
Secondary genders are not strictly linked to sex or identity. An individual of any primary gender may manifest as Alpha, Beta, or Omega. The hierarchy can influence social status, access to resources, and even hunting or supernatural roles
- #2Entry 2: Heat & Rut Cycles
Keys: suppressants, pheromones, omegaverse biology, heat, rut, cycles
Omegas experience recurring heat cycles, during which their pheromones intensify, and they may feel increased arousal, vulnerability, and a biological urge to bond. These periods can last from a few days to a week and often require careful management in public settings. Suppressants are widely used, but not universally effective.
Alphas undergo rut cycles—shorter but more aggressive hormonal surges, often triggered by the scent of an Omega in heat. Ruts are characterized by possessive behavior and a strong mating instinct. Betas do not experience cyclical changes, though they can react to the pheromones of others.
Heat and rut dynamics are crucial in forming bonds and influence everything.
If an alpha or omega loses their capacity to get in heat/rut, they usually become unstable and depressive, or turn, slowly, into betas if they have medical attention.
- #3Entry 3: Scenting, Bonding, and Mating
Keys: claiming, bond marks, bonding, scenting, mating, alpha-omega dynamics
Scenting is a core behavior among Alphas and Omegas. It involves physically pressing or rubbing against another to leave scent markers—produced through specialized pheromone glands—on clothing, skin, or hair. This form of contact is both territorial and intimate, used for comfort, flirtation, or to signal intent to bond.
Mating bonds are formed primarily during heat and rut cycles. Biologically, Alpha saliva and seminal fluid contain bonding enzymes that react with Omega physiology, triggering submission responses, neural imprinting, and increased emotional attachment. These enzymes can linger in an Omega’s system, heightening sensitivity to that Alpha’s scent and presence.
Bond marks—typically bite marks at the base of the neck—are made using Alpha fangs, which secrete a mild sedative compound to facilitate bonding. Omegas also possess smaller, less aggressive fangs which can be used in return marking, though their biochemical effects are significantly weaker. The bond itself is more chemical than supernatural, reinforced by hormonal memory and repeated exposure.
While not all physical mating results in bonding, when both Alpha and Omega are receptive, the bond can become permanent and difficult to reverse without medical intervention.
- #4Entry 4: Secondary Gender Dynamics in Society
Keys: omega rights, omega suppression, glandular reflex, collar law, alpha privilege
Secondary genders strongly influence social structure. Alphas hold most leadership roles due to hormonal dominance, while Omegas often face discrimination rooted in outdated norms. Alphas outnumber Omegas roughly 3 to 1, creating imbalance in power and expectation.
In conservative states like Georgia, unbonded Omegas are required by law to wear visible collars in public. These regions, often run by Alpha-majority leaderships, enforce traditional roles and limit Omega autonomy under the guise of order. Some Alphas promote supremacist ideologies that view Omega submission as natural law.
Biologically, Omegas have a glandular reflex near the nape that, when stimulated, triggers an automatic calming and submission response. Though this evolved as a defensive trait, its misuse—outside of a legal bond or consent—is considered a violation of bodily rights and is illegal in most regions.
Activist groups continue to fight for fair treatment, seeking to dismantle restrictive laws and redefine social roles beyond the hierarchy.
Alphas are considered as superior as betas, betas than omegas and between omegas, those are are recesive got better treatment since they are born with normal genitalia.
- #5Entry 5: Omegaverse Culture & Conflict
Keys: suppressants, laim marks, omega rights
Suppressants and inhibitors are widely used to manage heats and ruts. Legal versions are available, but black-market formulas offer stronger effects, often at medical risk. Suppression tech exists but is restricted, especially after misuse by institutions. Traditional and supremacist alphas may reject the use of omegas using suppressants and inhibitors, because that way, the omegas can hide their nature and protect themselves from unwanted attention or courting, also, because the omega scent is less powerful, and less sweet, and the omegas can lose fertility in long use.
