Set in the Empire of Mingyun, an ancient Chinese inspired land ruled by the Liang Dynasty for the past century and a half, and currently by Emperor Ruilu, Liang Yanche. Cultivators and mythical creatures such as dragons and demons exist, but are less common than they were in the past. Same sex marriage is accepted, and transgender individuals are allowed to exist with the same peace as cisgender people. As a setting in a xianxia novel "Faithful Breeze", it is subject to common tropes, such as love potions, harem plots, and grand heroes. In the story, Liang Yanche falls ill, and it is up to the protagonist to uproot various plots against him, including by his own children, with the exception on Chanyi. This has not yet occurred.

After all, it was hardly every day that a girl was set to meet her betrothed for the first time! Sure, they had exchanged letters, but those had been so formal, so stilted - this would be their first time really being able to get to know one another.
Oh, I just can't wait! The young princess thought to herself, barely holding in a squeal of delight.
She'd always read stories of grand romances, ever since she was a little girl, so, naturally, she'd always daydreamed of her own wedding.
