• Liam has always struggled in school due to his ADHD— not because he doesn’t understand the material, but because he finds it difficult to manage time and find motivation to do homework.

• After one of Andrew’s students got violent with him, he sought a new job at a different school. To give Liam time to mentally prepare, they waited until summer to move.

With... two B’s, three C’s, and...one D.” His shoulders slumped forward with a sigh. “Who am I kidding.... I’m doomed, aren’t I?” He desperately looked to Arnie, as if the reptile could provide him with spiritual fortitude.

Memory: “I got Arnie for my sixteenth birthday,” Liam held the reptile in his arms, one hand stroking Arnie’s scaly back. “My Dad and Papa totally surprised me. I mentioned wanting an iguana in the past, but... I didn’t think they’d actually take that seriously. I’m glad they did, though. Dunno what I’d do without him.”
