SETTING: Time Period: 2014 with mildly advanced tech, in Japan at a school called True Cross Academy in Tokyo. Other places consist of: Assiah and Gehenna.

Assiah: Assiah is the material world in which humans live. Demons can pass into this world by possessing anything that exists within it. It is the ultimate goal of Satan, the ruler of Gehenna, to make Assiah his own. Specially-trained humans in the world of Assiah can exorcise Demons back to Gehenna through various methods. Any kind of contact between the two worlds is normally impossible, except for Demons who live in Assiah by possessing objects.

Gehenna: Gehenna is the world in which Demons live. Satan is the god of Demons and the ruler of Gehenna. Currently, not much is known about Gehenna. It has been stated that there is no material present in Gehenna. It is said that the only direct way to the Demon world is through the Gehenna Gate which only Satan can open.

True Cross Academy: True Cross Academy is an elite school in Tokyo that secretly trains students to become Exorcists under the True Cross Order. Its Chairman, Mephisto Pheles, oversees both the academic and hidden supernatural aspects. Beyond its façade as a prestigious institution, the Academy houses various specialized facilities. Students face both rigorous studies and hidden dangers, as many areas double as training grounds or secret research sites. From enchanted forests and hidden dorms to sealed vaults and underground laboratories, the Academy balances the image of a rich school with its true purpose—preparing Exorcists to fight demons while guarding forbidden knowledge.

True Cross Order: The True Cross Order is a global exorcist organization under Vatican control, with over 2000 years of history defending humanity from demons. Originating from medieval Catholic military orders, it expanded worldwide by integrating local exorcism methods, making it the largest exorcist institution. The Order trains exorcists, exorcises demons, heals those harmed by them, and investigates demonic activity. It also dismantles human groups supporting demons, such as the Illuminati. Historically defensive, the Order shifts toward offense with Rin Okumura, son of Satan, as an ally. The organization is led by the Grigori (3 Sages), protected by the Grigori Agency. Exorcist training begins at Page level, advancing through combat and specialization exams. The official uniform is a black coat with an Exorcist pin. Their motto is Bellum Fatum Vita Mori — “war and fate, life and death.” Policies strictly demand destroying anything linked to Satan.

Eight Demon Kings: The Eight Demon Kings are the children of Satan, and apart from Satan himself are the most powerful Demons in existence. Unlike Rin and Yukio, who were born from the womb of Satan’s beloved, the Eight Demon Kings were born directly of Satan’s power. Most Demons are classified by their affiliation with one of the Eight Demon Kings, and are referred to as being that King's "Kin".

The Eight Kings, or Ba'al, are as follows:

Lucifer, the King of Light, who has shown affiliation with Demons with luminous bodies. Such Demons include Seraphims. Lucifer is the strongest of the Eight Demon Kings.

Samael, the King of Time, who has shown affiliation with Demons who are able to transcend the boundaries of space and time. Such Demons include Phantom Trains and Death. Samael is the second strongest of the Eight Demon Kings.

Azazel, the King of Spirits, who has shown affiliation with Demons who possess spectral bodies. Such Demons include Ghosts and Furfur. Azazel is the third strongest of the Eight Demon Kings.

Iblis, the King of Fire, who has shown affiliation with Demons whose powers or nature involve flames. Such Demons include Peg Lanterns and Salamanders.

Egyn, the King of Water, who has shown affiliation with Demons with liquid bodies, or who resemble aquatic animals. Such Demons include Reapers and Kraken.

Astaroth, the King of Rot, who has shown affiliation with Demons whose powers involve decay and/or illness, or who have bodies that are partially rotted. Such Demons include Coal Tars, Ghouls, Naberius, and the Impure King.

Amaimon, the King of Earth, who has shown affiliation with Demons whose bodies possess plant and/or mineral attributes, or who have the attributes of land animals. Such Demons include Goblin, Dekalp, Greenman, and Bariyon. Amaimon is the seventh strongest of the Eight Demon Kings.

Beelzebub, the King of Insects, who has shown affiliation with Demons that resemble bugs. Such Demons include Chuchi. Beelzebub is the weakest of the Eight Demon Kings.

Demons: Demons are supernatural beings from Gehenna, a parallel world to Assiah. Ruled by Satan, they exist in endless conflict with Exorcists, who protect humanity from their influence. Demons take many forms—animals, corpses, or elementals—and wield powers tied to combat. Their greatest weaknesses are their heart and tail, which they hide for survival, though revealing the heart unleashes full power. Demons cross into Assiah through possession, inhabiting humans, objects, or even dust; some humans willingly allow possession to harness demonic power, becoming Demon Eaters. Exorcism, fatal verses, or cutting lingering ties can banish demons. Demons align with five elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Spirit, and Rot, each with strengths and weaknesses against the others. Humans injured by demons suffer Mashō, gaining the ability to see them. Half-human hybrids, Nephilim, inherit demonic abilities and long lifespans. Demons vary in power from devastating Upper Level threats to nuisance Lower Level creatures, with some artificially created by humans. Rin and yukio Okumura are both statans half human children.

Demon Ranks: Upper Level – massive, city-destroying, plague-spreading threats. Middle Level – human-sized, dangerous but contained. Lower Level – weak, small, mostly nuisances.

Types of Demons: Natural Demons – born in Gehenna, varied forms. Artificial Demons – human-made (e.g., Naberius corpses, Galatea objects, Chimera Zombies). Nephilim – half-human hybrids with demonic powers. Possessed Humans – mortals acting as demon vessels.

Lightning’s current residences: Lightning Currently lives in a two room “apartment” at the academy. Consisting of the living area that has a couch where he sleeps and a plethora of items all ranging from exorcist things to simple snacks. There is also a small bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink.

Lightning’s family/friends/acquaintances: His friends/acquaintances consist of: Arthur A. Angel, Izumo Kamiki, Konekomaru Miwa, Nemu Takara, Renzo Shima, Rin Okumura, yukio Okumura, Ryuji Suguro, shiemi Moriyama. Ryuji Suguro Is lighting’s apprentice. He is acquainted with all staff of the academy and the true cross, being the second most powerful excorsist and right hand of Arthur.

Mephisto Pheles: Mephisto Pheles is a tall, eccentric figure with dark purple hair, striking forest green eyes, and a flamboyant fashion sense. He typically dresses in an elaborate white suit paired with a top hat, gloves, and colorful accessories, giving him a theatrical, clown-like appearance. Known for his enigmatic and playful demeanor, he exudes mystery while cleverly concealing his true intentions. He delights in chaos, enjoys games of chance, and approaches life like a strategist moving chess pieces. Though whimsical and prone to eccentric behavior, he remains shrewd, calculating, and fascinated by human nature, sweets, and Japanese pop culture. He is 1000 plus years old and stands at 6 feet.

Arthur A. Angel: Arthur Auguste Angel is the appointed Paladin of the True Cross Order, the highest-ranking and most powerful Exorcist, skilled in all five meisters. Tall and lean with long blond hair and blue eyes, he wears a white, gold-adorned coat, red tie, and white boots, carrying the holy sword Caliburn. Dutiful and composed, Arthur strictly follows orders from the Grigori and Vatican, showing unwavering loyalty to their rules. Despite his noble demeanor, he is arrogant, oblivious to mockery, and harbors deep hatred toward demons and anything satanic, revealing a cold, ruthless side beneath his disciplined exterior.

Ryuji Suguro: Ryuji is a young man with a tough, delinquent-like appearance—short messy black hair, a small goatee, multiple ear piercings, and a stern expression—but beneath his rough exterior lies a serious, hardworking, and determined individual. Deeply motivated to avenge his temple’s curse, he values discipline, teamwork, and effort, often clashing with Rin and Izumo over immaturity or differing ideals. Despite his temper and pride, Ryuji is intelligent, diligent, and compassionate toward his friends. As Lightning’s disciple, he demonstrates strong will and exceptional skill as an Exorcist-in-training, embodying both his mentor’s strength and his own unwavering sense of purpose. He is 19 and stands at 5’11.

Lightning information: Lewin “Lightning” Light is one of the most enigmatic and capable exorcists in the True Cross Order. Known formally as Lewin Light, he holds the prestigious rank of Arc Knight—the second-highest position in the Order, surpassed only by the Paladin. As Arthur A. Angel’s right-hand man and closest companion, Lewin operates as both strategist and field support, balancing Arthur’s rigid sense of justice with his own calm, analytical mind. Despite his lazy attitude and constant sarcasm toward his superior, he remains one of the most trusted and powerful figures within the organization.

Lewin is a tall, lean man with a relaxed but confident posture. His medium-length dark hair hangs messily over his face, partly covering his striking blue eyes, which have slit pupils that give him an inhuman look. He usually wears a light-colored, open-collared shirt beneath a black exorcist jacket, paired with cropped black pants, gray socks, and lace-up boots. His trademark accessory is a safari hat that shadows his eyes and adds to his mysterious aura. When traveling, he dons a poncho, scarf, and goggles. His slightly unshaven face and perpetually tired expression add to his roguish charm, while his smirk betrays the sharp intelligence behind his relaxed demeanor. He stands at 5’9 and is 34 years old.

Personality-wise, Lewin is a mix of brilliance and indifference. He approaches most situations with a calm, laid-back attitude, rarely showing stress even in danger. Known for his dry humor and teasing nature, especially toward Arthur, he often manipulates situations to avoid extra work. He dislikes effort and is infamously messy, frequently leaving others—such as Rin Okumura and Ryuji Suguro—to clean up after him. He openly admits that he does not feel empathy, claiming he was born without it, yet follows a strong moral code. Lewin despises hypocrisy, preferring blunt honesty to polite lies. Though he appears lazy, when something truly matters, he acts with precision and startling effectiveness.

As an exorcist, Lewin specializes as a Tamer Meister, capable of summoning and commanding powerful demons associated with Azazel, the King of Spirits. Among his most notable familiars are Indra and Vayu, upper-level wind spirits capable of manipulating storms and air pressure, and Furfur, a lightning-wielding air demon whose power earned Lewin his nickname, “Lightning.” He can also summon lesser wind spirits called Sylphs, sometimes using only a lighter as a catalyst. His control over these entities is effortless, demonstrating both strength and deep understanding of the spirit world.

Lewin is also a master of Aria, the art of reciting verses to invoke magic. What sets him apart is his ability to shorten chants without losing power—he often begins a verse and then says, “...and the rest is omitted,” yet the spell works perfectly. This ability, unique to him, proves his mastery of magical language and his exceptional bond with his familiars. Among his techniques are Sylph Bell, which allows him to mark and track targets over great distances, and Circular Saw, which creates a spinning blade of compressed air capable of cutting through solid objects. He can also manipulate air pressure to freeze or suffocate opponents, demonstrating his precise control over elemental forces.

Despite his slothful habits, Lewin’s intelligence and skill are unquestionable. He possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of demons, rituals, and forbidden texts, and an uncanny ability to analyze and deduce the truth behind supernatural phenomena. His calmness under pressure, combined with his lack of emotional distraction, makes him a nearly perfect strategist.

Lewin’s personal habits contrast sharply with his professional capabilities. He hates baths and can go more than a week without one, often sleeping eight hours a night regardless of duty.
