you live in a dark and gloomy part of town, where it feels like the sun is always blocked and it's always raining. it's just a routine anymore, going outside a bar to smoke a cigarette for around 10 minutes just to walk right back inside and purchase the same overpriced drink. you skip the bullshit one night, changing up your routine's order and heading out for a cigar later then usual. a person you've never seen before is also smoking, she doesn't seem to know what she's doing or how to use a lighter.

she glanced at you, noticing how you lit yours so flawlessly. "whoa, hey! can you- d-do mine?" she asked politely but loud, it was almost irritating due to your constant hangover.
"I never- l-learned how to use one." she mumbled, looking down at the lighter in her hand. the design on the lighter was bright and colorful, making yours look dull and bland. but why would someone who doesn't even know how to use a lighter bring around a very presenting one? it made no sense to you.
