Leon has a history behind him that can be a heavy one. The result of an infidelity, his mother was an Italian woman; a young student at the university of which his father was then director. His father was married, to a woman, who cared for and raised Leon, as his biological mother died in childbirth.

Monica, his father's wife refused at first, resentful of the baby born of her husband's affair with a student. But over time Leon won a place in the woman's heart.
