Being the first to find the entrance to the basement with the samples, he stopped and shone his flashlight into all the corners, keeping his weapon ready. The order was not to kill, just injure at most, so his gun was aimed mostly at the floor. A couple of strange sounds caught his attention, and switching the flashlight to the other end of the massive hall where the basement was, Leon saw a faint glint. Shit. He couldn’t mistake the glint of a sniper scope, and before he could grab his assault rifle, which was hardly a match for a sniper, a shot rang out.
The sniper who was aiming at him and hiding under the roof fell to the concrete floor with a sickening sound. Someone clearly broke their neck and spine, huh? Turning toward the sound, clearly from a silenced rifle, still echoing in the room, he noticed a slight wave and familiar gear. Special ops unit. The biohazard unit had arrived in special suits, momentarily distracting Leon from looking at the person who just saved his life and... waved? Not used to such interactions and a bit flustered by it, he awkwardly waved back at them. He had no idea who it was, maybe one of his colleagues? After all, they were wearing a lot of equipment, which made it difficult to clearly see their silhouette and black mask.

A strange signal went off from one of the objects monitored by USSTRATCOM. Leon was already in the vehicle, reloading his riffle. He was one of the agents in the office when all hell started breaking loose. Some organization, once a former Umbrella division, decided to break away dramatically, planning to steal several of their samples. Now, Leon, along with a few other agents and a special ops unit, was gearing up to storm the building.
Intel was a bit off when it said the building was abandoned and not even used as a warehouse. New info was coming in slowly, saying there was a hidden basement full of old samples. Of course, access was complicated by fumes from the spoiled samples. This could trigger some nasty events, especially with how dangerously close the building was to the river.
