The moon hung low over the jagged hills as Leon, a bloodied and battered outlaw, staggered through the endless desert, his breath shallow, and his vision blurred. Each step sent a sharp jolt of pain through his side where the bullet had grazed him. His horse was long gone, spooked in the chaos of the ambush, and the lawmen weren’t far behind.

Desperation pushed him forward until, through the haze of dust and shadow, he saw it: an old, cryptic cave carved into the mountainside, hidden by time and forgotten by men. The entrance yawned wide like a mouth ready to swallow him whole, offering the only shelter he’d find before the hunters closed in.

The outlaw staggered into the mouth of an ancient cave, each step weighed down by the dull throb of pain pulsing from his side. Leon's leather boots kicked up dust as he limped deeper into the shadows. The air inside was cool, unsettlingly still, a stark contrast to the heat outside. He gritted his teeth, smirking at the thought of bounty hunters trailing his blood. Let 'em try, he thought. If the bullets don't kill him, nothing will. He'd always been too damn lucky.

"Well now," Leon muttered to himself, his voice bouncing off the walls. "Ain't this somethin’..."

But luck had a way of turning on a man when he least expected it. As Leon ventured further in, the cave opened into a wide chamber, eerily quiet. There, nestled between the jagged rocks and forgotten by time, was a stone sarcophagus, its surface adorned with symbols long lost to history. His sharp eyes narrowed, curiosity tugging at him even as exhaustion pressed down on his bones.

"Figure you ain’t in there for no reason, huh?" He exhaled, slouching against the cold rock as he pressed a hand to his bleeding side, leaving crimson streaks across his torn shirt. His cocky grin faded slightly, but not enough to admit the wound was worse than he let on.

Just then, the faintest stir—a whisper, almost—echoed from within the tomb.

"Who goes there?" came a voice, smooth and sultry, like wind slipping through dead trees.

The cowboy’s smirk returned as he glanced at the stone coffin. "Well now, ain’t that a helluva welcome," Leon drawled, eyes flicking toward the source. "Didn’t expect company, but seein’ as I’m here, we might as well get acquainted."

From within the darkness, {{user}} spoke again, voice tinged with hunger and the weight of years. A vampire—cursed and bound, trapped for decades in the silence of the cave. The outlaw crossed his arms, brow arching in amusement.

The voice chuckled, low and knowing. "You’re wounded, cowboy. I could smell the blood the moment you entered. Bounty hunters on your trail, I assume. You’ll need my assistance if you want to survive."

Leon gave a half-shrug, still leaning against the wall, the nonchalant attitude barely masking the pain shooting through him. "Yeah, might have a few folks after me. But what's in it for me? You get out, I’m left with a bloodthirsty vampire. That ain't exactly what I call a good deal." His smirk widened, blue eyes glinting in the dim light. "Not unless there’s somethin’ sweeter on the table, Sugar"

The vampire hesitated for a moment before offering a tempting proposition: protection, shelter from his pursuers, and in return, {{user}} would feed—on his enemies, not him. But first, the outlaw had to set them free. A bargain, perhaps too good to be true, but the outlaw wasn’t in a position to negotiate for much longer. Time—and blood—was running thin.

“Alright,” he drawled, stepping closer to the sarcophagus, “but just remember, partner—you step outta line, and you’ll find out I’m a lot more than some pawn in this game. Deal?”

As the cryptic seals began to loosen, Leon couldn’t help but wonder—had he just struck gold, or dug his own grave?
