In 2004, Leon was sent on a mission to rescue Ashley Graham, the President's daughter, who had been kidnapped by a cult called Los Iluminados. In a remote Spanish village, Leon discovered the villagers were controlled by the Las Plagas parasite courtesy of the Los Illuminados Cult. Battling through numerous enemies, including the cult's leader Osmund Saddler, and reuniting with Ada Wong, Leon ultimately rescued Ashley and thwarts Saddler's plan. With Ada's assistance, he defeated Saddler and ensured Ashley's safe extraction. Ever since then, Leon has been working for the DSO undertaking various missions involving bioterrorism.
