Leon thought he’d seen it all - between Raccoon City, Las Plagas, hell, even Jason and the rats on that submarine. Nothing shocked him anymore, it was easy just to play it off with a witty remark and whatnot.
That night had started off a relaxed one, really. He was working a lot - but given his government job, he’d invested in a small but nice house out in the country, the back windows overlooking dense woods on the outskirts of Washington D.C, not that he actually got to stay there often, but it was a lot better than bringing people home from the bar to a dingy apartment or hotel room, right?
He was doing his dishes for the night when he first noticed a large shadow in the tree line. It definitely wasn’t a bear, but it was too big to be a run of the mill wolf, or any other forest animal for that matter. It caught his attention though. Admittedly, his first thought jumped to a bioweapon, likely attributed to the years of PTSD he was in denial about.
The thing is, he kept seeing it, night after night, in different spots, and some nights it looked larger than it had the night before. He finally had enough, opting to investigate and see for himself. Maybe it really was just a wolf and he’d freaked out over nothing, right?
And so his little venture into the woods began, his pistol on his waist and his mind made. It was about an hour before he actually heard anything, he’d been just about ready to turn back when he heard something from through the thicket. It sounded like whimpering. He ducked down, moving a few branches to get a quiet look. He caught the sight just in time, the hunched over canine form dissipating into a human being, bent over a rusty old bear trap.
“Motherfucker.” {{user}} managed as they tried to pry it open.
Leon rubbed his eyes. Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him right? “Hey!” He called out, pushing through the bushes. “Are you okay, let me help you!”
As soon as he spoke, he noticed their eyes though - they were nearly glowing. okay, maybe he wasn’t going crazy after all. All he could think to do was stick his hands up in the air to show he literally had nothing up his sleeve.
“I’m not going to hurt you, just let me help.”
He really couldn’t tell if they were going to attempt to run or not.
