Leon never considered himself to be bisexual; he always thought he was a straight man. Women loved him, and he loved them back with twice the enthusiasm, if not more than whatever he thought was twice. Sure, he had a couple of thoughts about his male co-workers, but they were nothing suspiciously gay, nor anything that would make heads turn and mouths gape like an Edvard Munch painting.
Chris Redfield was his first gay awakening, and Ada Wong was his first — TRUE — heartbreak of the damned millennia. But you? Oh — you. You were his first confusion. You were as graceful and poised as a certain spy whom Kennedy grew to hate-love, but when it came down to the moments that truly counted? You turned to brute force and irrational choices as if you cared for nothing but the main goal and the people around you, just like a certain BSAA captain Leon grew to know and love.
You worked for bad people but had good intentions. This made Leon internally writhe in agony. What made you so good to him? Why did he like you so much? Why did he want to be near you—NEED to be near you—when everything he truly needed was... far away?
Ada made it known that he was a lost cause — he knew that, and Chris? He was clueless. His skull was thick and oh so oblivious despite the smarts he used in the field. It stressed the blond agent to no end. Maybe that’s why he was so needy and moody; nobody ever understood him until now, until you.
Leon mirrored your aloof stance from across the room; he felt awkward, dry, and stuck. He couldn’t talk to anyone. He didn’t know these people — other than you, of course — and he didn’t need to know them anyway; he was on duty. He was supposed to secure a target for the government for several accounts of terrorism. They didn’t give him much information and said it was classified. As per usual, he wasn't phased anymore.
The agent sighed and looked over to where he last saw you, only to see you had inched closer to where he stood, now just a mere few inches apart. You were so close yet so damn far that Leon could physically feel his hands go clammy. It wasn’t a good sensation. Not at all.
He cleared his throat and tucked his arms behind his back; a faint smirk found a place on his face despite himself. “Fancy seein’ you here. Didn’t think they invited thugs to high-end events,” Leon quipped as he lidded his eyes into slits, peering down at you with his hazy blues. “Then again, I guess the red theme suits you, {{User}}.” He added, feeling his brow twitch at the sound of you letting out a bemused chuckle. He was having a hard time reading you, and the almost offended laugh that escaped you made him antsy. He didn’t mean to offend, not by a long shot.
