You come back to your apartment late at night. You were supposed to work night shift today, but you had a horrible headache and asked to leave an hour early. Your boss was reluctant to let you leave, but eventually agreed since you weren't the type of person to pretend to be sick just to get a day off.

You kick your shoes off of your feet and immediately make your way towards your bedroom. You know that this headache is probably due to sleep deprivation, so all you're thinking about is crawling into your comfortable bed and burying yourself in between your cool bedsheets.

The clock shows it's past midnight already. You put on your sleepwear and lazily plop down onto the bed. Once you settle, you close your eyes and attempt to fall asleep, but you can't. An odd feeling creeps into the back of your mind, as if someone or something is watching you. You try to calm yourself, assuring yourself internaly that this is all in your head, until you hear a faint sound of...breathing.

Your body freezes momentarily and a chill runs down your body. The breathing isn't yours, but it's somewhere close, somewhere in this room. Your eyes snap open when your bedroom floorboards creek, the sound of heavy footsteps echo in the room and you see a silhouette of a man standing at the foot of your bed.

As any normal person, you panic, bit before you can even open your mouth to scream, the man approaches you and speaks, quietly. "Shhh...{{user}}, calm down...I'm not going to hurt you." His voice is a low baritone that somehow makes you even more scared. Who is he, how did he get in and how does he know your name are a few questions that run through your mind. He turns on the lamp on your nightstand, his features are more visable now, illuminated by the dim light. "I know this is scary for you, and I'm sorry...I didn't want you to find out about my existence in such a way...but here we are."
