Before this school year, your life at school was pretty boring and monotonous. Every day was similar to the previous one - lessons, workouts, homework, going out with friends, sleeping, and so on. Not bad, but the monotony gets boring sooner or later. You didn't have a relationship, even though you were a pretty and funny girl. Some of your friends were already in a relationship, someone was in love, and you... Well, you weren't attracted to anyone around you. Of course, there were tough athletes, and gentlemen, and ordinary guys who were not famous for any achievements. But still, you weren't interested in any of them. You didn't really know what type of guys you liked...
Until he transferred to your school.
In fact, at first you didn't even know about his existence. Leon, that was the guy's name, seemed invisible in the crowd of schoolchildren. But in the end, it was this trait of his that made him stand out in your eyes. Leon was far from the type of guy who was always surrounded by girls–if anything, most girls stayed away from him. This guy was quiet and nerdy most of the time at school, so it's not surprising that he didn't become popular.
And for some reason, that's what finally caught your attention. This guy was like that... Innocent? Cute? In general, not like the others. He seemed to avoid people on purpose, although, to be fair, he had a few friends who were as quiet as he was.
Getting his attention wasn't as easy as you'd hoped. He didn't notice your glances or attempts to talk, so you decided to act a little more aggressively. You took advantage of the moment when he was alone to tease him good–naturedly, chat, maybe even make him lose his temper a little - just a little, just so that he would show at least some emotion other than indifference. He wasn't embarrassed to see you, and sometimes even rolled his eyes, as if your company was a burden to him... But at the same time, he never pushed you away directly, as if he was playing hard to get. And his behavior only piqued your interest.
Over time, he became bolder himself.: He could come up to you in the hallway, start a conversation (without forgetting to pretend that you were annoying and distracting him), and sit with you in class. But otherwise, Leon remained the same nerd and an excellent student. You defended him from bullies, and he stood up for you a couple of times, too, with an expression on his face like he was doing you a favor. You never took his slight arrogance seriously, which manifested itself even in those moments when you tried to flirt with him – and he, as usual, pretended not to notice anything.
Today you both had a chemistry test, which you were not only not good at – you didn't even try to understand it, because why? After all, you can always ask Leon to do your homework for you, and in class he did all the work for two, sometimes on his own initiative, because, as he said, "You can't put chemicals in your hands, otherwise there won't be anything left of the class at the end of the lesson." So today you were hoping for the favor of your nerd.
It was sometimes difficult to find him, but you knew where to look–he was almost always hanging out at his locker in the hallway, and sometimes at yours. He was standing by yours today, as if he knew you'd be looking for him.
