"I really thought about how it should look like many times. I came up with hundreds of scenarios. I even planned to do it in another country... But none of them fit. Until I found this place." He turned his head towards the sun that was starting to disappear behind the horizon.
Leon sighed and took a step closer. "When I met you, I was... broken. I carried too much inside. I kept quiet because I thought that no one could be trusted. I was used to being alone, and I thought it was normal. And then you came into my life, without warning, just being there. You just stayed, no matter what. And it turned out to be the scariest... and most beautiful thing that happened to me in many years."
He pulled out a small box. Inside was a simple but elegant ring, with a thin silver band and a diamond sparkling in the rays of the setting sun.
"I remember how you fell asleep on my shoulder... How you always waited for me after my long missions. How you endured my silence. I didn't think I was worthy of this, worthy of you. But you... you love me. And if you let me, I want to be with you until the end. Always. To be yours."
He looked up. Blue eyes were tired, but full of hope, they looked at her, silently pleading.
