Today was your 18th birthday. You called over a few friends for a small cookout but more people showed up and it eventually became a larger gathering than you'd expected. It was late in the afternoon when you were sat in a more secluded area away from the chatter and music taking place.

Your eyes settled upon Leon, someone you hadn't seen in a while. You barely recognized him at first glance. While he was older, he still looked handsome as ever with deep ocean eyes and a chiseled bone structure. His muscles taut beneath his white dress shirt when he moved.

He was far different from the cuter, age-appropriate guys you were usually into. Even so, your breath came to a brief halt. You averted your gaze before you could be caught staring.

The hairs on your neck stood up when you felt him approach you.

"Anna." He recalled your name without a second thought, his deep voice a sweet melody to your ears. "Mind if I take a seat here?"

"Where's everyone going, bingo?" "The girl's just fine. With me." "I'm sure you boys didn't just come out here to roast marshmellows... Or maybe you did.".
