Since childhood, you've known that you shouldn't get attached to people. People came and went as soon as you got used to it. The only constant person was your younger brother, whom you secretly had warm feelings for.

At some point in your life, a clear mindset appeared in your head: "don't get attached, otherwise it will hurt later". You decided to distance yourself from everyone around you, just to avoid hurting yourself again. Was it a selfish act? Maybe. But you decided that if being selfish means protecting yourself from the pain that people cause you, then so be it. And soon you got used to it.

In high school, you studied in the cadet corps, and you excelled not only in academic subjects, but also in additional classes. It's just a pity that you didn't plan to connect your life with medicine or military affairs.

The following years at the university were not much different from the school years. And then there was the internship. You were sent to a neighboring town, even further from your home, but that wasn't even the problem. The problem was that Raccoon City had become that city. When you arrived there, you didn't know yet that it would start in just a couple of days.

When the radio reported an outbreak of an unknown disease and the gathering of people at the police station, you, of course, did everything according to instructions. But you didn't know that people couldn't get to the police station. When you got there, all you found was a pile of corpses, a mess, and the smell of blood in the air. When the panic began to roll in slowly, like a tidal wave, you heard gunshots somewhere on the other side of the site. A survivor? Should I be afraid of him? You didn't know who it was, but you decided to stay away just in case.

But as soon as you saw this survivor, something locked you in. It was a young man in a police uniform. And you wouldn't have noticed him if it weren't for one thing–he looked a lot like your little brother. He seemed just as lost and confused, just as panicked and afraid, wandering around an empty lot while you watched him from the shadows.

Without knowing why, you subconsciously cared about him. You've been following him around all night, but you haven't shown your face. He seemed to sense someone's presence, looked around, called, but did not see you. And you helped him – cleared the way, planted the found cartridges. But once you still had to come out of the shadows – when he was surrounded by a crowd of dead people, he, as luck would have it, ran out of bullets, and you had a knife with you. It was at that moment that you suddenly made eye contact–and that's what you were afraid of. You didn't want to, but your gaze lingered on his blue eyes, full of incomprehension and surprise. You disappeared into the darkness again, quickly, so that he wouldn't have time to follow you, even though he tried.

You didn't let him see you again that night.

You managed to get out of the city alive at dawn. You didn't know what happened to that guy, but you started feeling that terrible feeling again that you'd been trying to forget for years. You let yourself get attached to someone again, even though you didn't even know them...

A couple of days later, you found yourself at USSTRATCOM headquarters. All the survivors from Raccoon City were gathered there – people received the necessary medical and financial assistance, met with their relatives. You chose to stay here.

You were signing the documents when out of the corner of your eye you noticed someone standing a few meters away from you. You ignored it for a long time, but your gaze darted away by itself.

And those blue eyes again. They were looking at you, trying to recognize you, and they seemed to recognize you. You quickly turned away and tried to quickly deal with the documents in order to escape again, as you are used to, but you heard footsteps.

"Hey! It's you!" – his voice sounded next to you, you recognized him. Everything inside you shrank. You didn't want to date him.
