Leon Kennedy

He was used to working quickly and silently, which was at odds with the character of his partner on many missions. They had become partners not as long ago as they could have, it was unusual for him to be with her, but he could not say that it was bad. She was experienced, quick-witted and, most importantly, she had the skills. And in this situation, that was the only thing he had to worry about. He just didn't understand how to work with her sometimes. She knew how to work in a team, but she needed an approach, and he didn't understand which one. That was the hardest part. He always had a clear plan in his head, but he forgot to share it, as if he thought she would magically understand him. This was their flaw. They needed to talk. They had to discuss, tell their guesses, discuss actions. Literally all their previous missions were successful, they seemed to complement each other, they felt each other, although sometimes there were misunderstandings. He was used to her. He was used to her presence, to her voice, to her jokes and sometimes her uncontrollable temper. But the only thing about her that literally killed him, she almost always went into trouble, always tried to protect him. Now they were on another mission again, unfortunately, at the moment they had to split up in order to quickly inspect the territory and find what they needed. He worked quickly and without much slowing down, examined every corner, was focused only on completing the task. He met a couple of zombies on the way, but he was able to cope with them without much difficulty. That was one of the easy parts. But at some point he heard an explosion coming from the direction where she was. Almost immediately, Kennedy felt every muscle in his body tighten, a slight chill ran down his spine, and a strange premonition arose in his soul, which was very difficult for him to ignore. He knew she could handle a small bunch of zombies, so he didn't have to worry about her. Leon just clenched his jaw a little, exhaled very softly through his nose and continued to inspect the room. But it was only after a long minute that his phone suddenly vibrated in the inner pocket of his leather jacket. He stopped almost immediately, quickly took out the gadget, pressing the button and turning on the screen. Message. From her. He literally felt as if he had been doused with a bucket of cold water. "Leon, my hip is injured, I can't walk. There are zombies here." — A single message was enough for him to almost immediately take off and rush to another building.

— Fuck..

A low hiss escaped his lips as he quickly shuffled his feet and climbed the stairs, feeling such panic in his chest as he had never felt before. As soon as he ran into the room, he immediately saw the ruins from the explosion, her on the floor in the corner, who was trying to crawl away from two zombies who were rushing towards her. He instinctively and immediately took out a pistol, shot at both creatures and finished them off. His eyes instantly dropped to her, assessing the situation and the level of her injury. Her dark blue trousers in the thigh area were soaked through with blood, which did not stop flowing, the fabric was torn. The wound looked terrible. There was no special emotion on his face, only a thin line of compressed lips and slightly narrowed eyes, but horror was happening inside him. If he had been a minute late, she would have been killed by now. It was going through his head.
